I find it wierd when people talk about ruined characters like Rosalina and (obviously) Jeffy they never bring up how Mario is also suffering character decay. Before I could understand why Mario gets angry at jeffy because Jeffy legitimately was an asshole whose ruining his life. But nowadays Jeffy can make a simple mistake like spilling glitter and Mario's first instinct is to HIT HIM. Idc if Jeffy was horrible in the past, Mario is overreacting. Mario can borderline go psycho, he tries to SELL and SHOCK Jeffy. Jesus christ, isn't the point that Mario was supposed to be better then Nancy?

With him being forced to make kid-friendly after losing two channels to demonetization, he and the crew don’t seem to be creative when making kid-friendly content. Not to mention, but his fanbase is pretty much notorious as most of them are kids, and all they like is Jeffy. I don’t hate Jeffy, but I hate the overexposure and the overused jokes that is among this character. I feel like he should create an account on Storyfire or other streaming platforms where he can upload some videos with some actual adult/dirty humor while still getting profit off of it. He can upload short clips on KZbin to say that the new video is on Storyfire, but it's for older children, teens, and adults only, and upload the modern kid-friendly style videos on KZbin.

My thoughts on SML 2020: *SML: Persistence of the Old System* Throughout most of 2020, SuperMarioLogan made little to no change whatsoever at fixing the problems of his channel. His videos were filler-heavy and repetitive, he kept using the awful human puppets, and he was in the middle of some drama with his ex-girlfriend, Chilly. To ice the cake, he was also filming in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, which meant that his best voice actor, Chris Netherton, was absent for months on end. With Chris gone, this gave Logan’s brother, Lance, the spotlight for the videos, and it was a disaster, to say the least. Lance would drag on jokes for minutes on end at times, mainly because he thinks he’s the funniest guy on Earth. Logan Thirtyacre’s long-standing ego and greed remained largely untouched by the fans’ upsetness. The false sense of improvement has hit 2020 bad for the channel. And to top it all off, Logan got beaten up at a gas station by his girlfriend, Adriana, for which she got arrested, as well as damaging property. But Logan decided to bail her out. Maybe the smart, caring guy we saw just 5 years ago making hilarious Bowser Junior videos is possibly becoming demented? Only time will tell.

Characters personalities were attached to simple repetitive jokes, the plots are far from creative and are really simple, a whole lot of filler, Lovell's characters were put as background characters, Lances characters are just one SILLY joke, Logan doesn't care as much has he had, and so SO much more. Just wasn't as good as he used to be, I'd personally argue the apartment was the best era but thats just me This new era I like to call *The Reboot Era* Feels like this is just an SML reboot

No I don't think that modern SML is being hold by Chris because sure a lot of people like his characters but I won't necessarily say that it was bad just because he took a six-month hiatus now although I do like both of his characters that he mainly plays I just think that the problem with sml 2020 was that it obvious Logan was running out of ideas for a video and it was so obvious because I watched the behind the scenes and I could really tell that he was running out of ideas and creativity and I think that a way Logan can improve is that 1. you shouldn't overuse a joke and make it so annoying to the point where it's unbearable to listen to anymore 2. he shouldn't use the same characters over and over because then that can get annoying at a certain point and people will leave because they just see the same characters which is Jeffy and Junior and he even made Jeffy and Junior videos together where they both go together on trips now although I like some of those videos I think that he should limit both of those characters like maybe do 2 Jeffy videos then a black Yoshi video or a Shrek video then 2 Junior videos like how he did in 2014 like how he would do 2 Junior videos and then he would do another character I think that's the best way Logan should do SML 2021 because if he doesn't it's just gonna be Junior and Jeffy Junior and Jeff people will just leave because they don't want to see the same characters being overused all day because that gets annoying at a certain point and last but not least you should definitely and I mean definitely limit how about how many scenes that you use in a video and you should stop the drag on in scenes like the DNA test the video has too many drags on that video drags on way too long and it just felt like stupid filler and also stop the filler because it just seems that he really doesn't know what to do for a good video and it's very very very obvious that he doesn't have any more ideas for a video so what he should do is have the other cast members take ideas or even take fan ideas take the other cast members ideas but that seems what he has been doing very well lately he has been taking other ideas for the cast members so I guess that's a good thing but at the same time he should've done that in later 2020

If Sml doesn’t change, his channel will die or will be damaged beyond repair. It’s better to have quality over quantity for one simple reason, respect. Sml has so little respect from his fans because he focuses on quantity over quality, while someone like emplemon is very well-respected for the simple fact that he has quality over quantity. TL;DR: think long-term with quality over quantity and you will get respect which is worth more than any amount of money, if Sml doesn’t change to think like this his channel will die.

And I mighta a well do It again...... -The Human Puppets (they are good but they give a really different feel), they could’ve stop suing them after the Cody human puppet videos in 2019 -Overusing Jr and Jeffy Jr and Jeffy have been so overused, it’s been through 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and it would probably go on for a decade. We got Jr after Jeffy and then “Jeffys and Jr does this”. Seriously there are many other better characters like Black Yoshi, Jackie Chu, Toad, and Brooklyn Guy. Also what happened to Woody. -The Jokes The jokes became pretty sexual in 2017 -2019, they are deflated now for good but the jokes don’t hit me. Jeffys jokes seem kinda forced, at least try to make them funny. This applies to Brooklyn Guy, Jr, Cody, And many others -Filler A lot of videos have so much filler and Logan needs to do a better job at finding the correct length of his video to be aware how much time he should use to get to the actual plot. When filler happens it kinda squeezes the video in an elevator where Logan doesn’t fit anything into the video but he just wants to stretch the video so much as he wants which ruins the videos value. -The New Characters I think Harry is inferior to Cody. Cody was funnier, had more of a personality, more relatable, and it was satisfying to see him lash out at junior. Harry is less funny, less enjoyable, less likable, and overall not good. Officer Top and Bottom have just this one dumb joke “hey”. They say it over and over again and all The is is flirt with each other. It keeps on happening over and over again, it’s actually pretty cringe ngl. Camel Hibib Habab had me die laughing in “Black. Yoshi’s Big Bamboozle” but now he repeats the same joke and the joke gets so old so fast. It’s not even funny anymore. There isn’t something that adds another side to him, it’s just the same old “Repeating the phone call from the start like a tv show” and “camel as in camel as in corn on the cob”. Scooter has this one joe of “hey fat boy”, it’s pretty stupid and he can be pretty rude. Scooter is more retarded than jeffy but not as bratty. Scooter just lacks personality, all these new characters lack personality. They just have this one joke and Logan calls it the end of the day. It gets repetitive and makes them feel so bland. There are many more issues but I don’t want to keep spoiling it. And also it will turn into a pretty long paragraph.

Bowser Junior's Revenge for me, which is a less-funny, dumbed down version of The School Project with all of the worst characteristics from that video turned up. It’s really upsetting to see that Logan’s greediness has interfered with his content. I’ve been watching him for about 10 years now and I can’t say I’m too surprised. Even back in 2010, he would always brag about the money he was making off the KZbin Partner Program. He made much better content when he was 18 because KZbin wasn’t dictating his life and his future. He makes constant jokes about how easy it is for him to get money and recklessly and irresponsibly spends money. He also always talks about how he can just buy anything because he’s loaded. The merch plugs make it especially obvious. He knows he can leech off little kids and get them to mindlessly watch his videos, so he doesn’t even try anymore. All he has to do is put Jeffy in the thumbnail and it’ll garner views.

Well... The only positive thing I can say is... At least it wasn't as bad or unmemorable as 2018... It's pretty disappointing to be honest, While last year was by no means a perfect year for SML. There was clear signs of improvement, We started getting newer characters that actually added something to the videos, The ideas were getting a bit more creative and interesting, And despite the edition of the human puppets... There was obvious signs of improvement. I could actually name more than just three good videos. With 2020 though... That's a different story. We saw clear signs of stagnation this year, There was a lot of videos that rehashed previous ones (This was a blatant issue in 2017/2018), And with the absence of Chris... The issues with Modern SML were brought to the forefront. Lance is no longer funny, His jokes are extremely repetitive and need someone else to work off of. Lovell's characters are all becoming one in the same. Logan's characters have barely moved an inch. Elaina's characters haven't gotten any better, And the overall structure of Modern SML is overly reliant on the Junior, Joseph, Cody/Mario, Jeffy, Brooklyn Guy formula. Without Chris the whole structure completely falls apart. I'm not gonna say this is the worst year for Modern SML, There was still a sizeable amount of videos that I thought were ok/decent. But something has to change next year, It's been almost four years of the exact same formula over and over again (And in the case of the Junior, Joseph, Cody formula... Almost six years). It's run its course, It's either time for some new main cast editions, Or a complete re haul of the video structure. I've already started to fall off of watching SML more and more, And if next year is literally just more of the same thing he's been pumping out since 2017... Then I'll probably drop off for good. It's gotten unbelievably stale. We don't need a repeat of 2020, Logan needs to step his game up next year. 2020 SML was NOT GOOD

It’s pretty much over for SML! I’d say give him a year or less before he calls it quits. The well is all dry! I won’t be around watching him next year so whatever he does at the end of the year is all I’m watching with him. SML was a large part of my childhood, but I stopped watching him back in 2016 when I was still in 8th grade because the videos just got worse and worse. As a senior in high school now, I occasionally look back at old youtubers I used to watch and SML is one of them. But even as I occasionally check in on him, I could tell his content is exactly the same as it was when I stopped watching 4 years ago, if not worse. This makes me wonder, how, after all this time of Logan ignoring his original audience and many critics, how you're still at this. I don't mean this with any disrespect of course. Honestly, I just left SML. I haven't watched too much of it other than the occasional watch with my younger bro. Besides the other issues that you discussed, SML just got less fun to watch as the years went on. Maybe it could be due to me growing up (it's probably that), but I keep noticing the same flaws anytime I see a new video. Jokes that don't land, plots that aren't too developed, characters being annoying, etc. I applaud you for staying on this train for as long as you have, but (in my personal opinion), maybe you should just jump ship? At this point, SML just seems too far gone. It was fun a couple years back, but eventually, it dropped to a point of mediocrity where it now stubbornly resides in, only breaking out occasionally. It's kinda like Modern Family Guy or Simpsons, sometimes, they might come up an enjoyable episode, but you have to drudge through mediocre or even bad episodes to get to them. And at that point, it doesn't feel like the occasional good episode is worth the routine bores. If you eventually do end up leaving SML, I would recommend reviewing CrazyMarioBros since they have similar content.

Should I say it... huh okay dab, I 100% agree with everything you said and I wish he took that criticism to heart. I think you don't understand how successful logan really is now he has a monetized channel with over 4 million subs where all of his main line videos have close to or mostly over sometimes over double his sub count. The rarity of these stats for a channel that is a bit out of KZbin's safe zone is impressive. The fact he has been consistently getting these numbers tells me he is long gone, the only reason he was somewhat reachable was the demonstration, now that it isn't a problem. Why listen when he is already doing great so why change and cut his viewer base, unless something happens, he ain't listening to anyone sadly.

It really gets on my nerves how many people act like we treat "Chris as the god of SML", for me, Brooklyn guy can sometimes have it's ups and downs but he's not really a bad character, even if he wasn't mostly funny this year he wasn't really annoying, he was a pretty likeable character in most of the SML Movies, that even includes when he was the antagonist, but I can say he's decently overrated. When it comes to Chris being gone for a while, SML is literally nothing, and that's ACTUALLY saying something, not in a way of saying "Chris is a god and the mascot of SML!", SML without Chris was absolutely terrible, again, the cliche jokes including the couch couch jokes and the edgy dark humor jokes, (which I call that generic humor), and I can say most of the SML Movies this year without Chris is only one scene and that's on the red couch which is stretched for almost the WHOLE video... So yeah, fr I really do not blame you.

I suggest Logan: - uses his characters Equally and doesn't rely on Jeffy to much - give his videos proper scripts instead of Improvising everything - give Chris more power in writing episodes and jokes - release that damn movie that we've been waiting 4 years for - maybe experiment more with other concepts like Skits and other Plush Series (in general stuff outside the SML universe) - stand up to his crew more
