I would personally miss that extra work space with the cash cow but I do more of an event type gigs verses street corner set-up's

Hi Dan. Thanks for the video. My personal choice would be the cash cow....You don't have to take hitch off...You can reach cooler from front of cart because there is no workspace....You can have a removable stainless steel shelf fabricated that clips onto handles in front for your condiments....its smaller and easier to move around. The layout of the cash cow is very similar to the NYC style carts and there is a reason that cart design has been around forever! 👍👍

What about the addition of a stainless steel work table that slides out of the side of cart. It can be hidden then slides out and locks in place. No needed then slide back in slot on cart.

Totally agree with you on street corner set-up's the cash cow is better, but let me fore warn you definitely remove the hitch reguardless and keep it inside your truck, if you we're to go inside for 5-10 minutes that's all it would take for some pos to steal your rig if they have a ball because of how mobile the cash cow is or really even the big dog. It wouldn't take much to run off with either one, and if stolen their not trying to use the rig just sell it. The first rig I tried to buy was from a guy in texas who had just gotten a divorce and his ex-wife had bought the big dog on her credit card and he hadn't paid her for it.
@rowdybroomstick12163 жыл бұрын
Yeah the big dog has a 70qt coleman extreme performance 5 day ice chest. Which isn't too bad you'll get about three days use without having to buy more ice if kept inside like your doing and if an air conditioned space you might get 5 days.

It's solid mounted. It's bolted there. No folding, swiveling, or rotating.

Dan, Excellent video!! I have been following you for a while. I would say drop the Beaver and find a lunch spot. From what you have been reporting about the Beaver location, it's just a pain in the butt to vend there. You got a great personality for customer service, so let people see you and talk with you. Good Luck Dan!
@HotDoggingwithDan3 жыл бұрын
I love vending at the Beaver. The problems that ive had are government related. Its the mayor and governors unfair covid restrictions that are the pain in the a$$. If they would allow our city to open back up without the restrictions, I could get back to dogging in front of the beaver without issue... and the money is GREAT there. Now that I have my own cart instead of having to lease a cart, I can work breakfast, lunch, AND the Beaver, and make all kinds of Benjamin's! Just waiting for my city/county permits to get approved. ;-)

Would the COVID rules allow you to put the condiment packets in the pans on the back of the Big Dog for customers to take themselves, or are you personally responsible for handing out the packets individually?
@HotDoggingwithDan3 жыл бұрын
I have to personally hand the condiments to them. They are concerned that if someone with covid comes along and touches all of the packets, it will spread.

Hi Dan! What can I do to keep burners from going out during windy weather?
@HotDoggingwithDan3 жыл бұрын
I dont typically work during windy or bad weather, but the cart should provide enough cover to protect the flame from wind. It sounds like the bottom of your burner box is open? If thats the case, try putting a piece of plywall or foam board insulation at the very bottom of your burner box. This will keep the wind from coming up from under your cart and blowing out your flame.

Can always add shelves to Cash Cow or any cart. Just need a drill & blind/pop rivets. Found some folding shelf brackets at home depot (just needs top.) They also sell a nice 8" x 22" 304 grade stainless steel shelf for $55. (which is cheaper than 304 stainless shelves sold at most restaurant supply stores.) Personally would get Cash Cow with flip top cover. Put my condiment caddy & foil sheets on the flip top, like Alex of Frank-stein does (Seen in a few of Ben Wilsons videos. That a nice workflow.) The cash cow is the best size cart for a trailer cart in the city in my opinion. Unless your only doing private property locations or are in a rural area smaller does matter.
