GeoGuessr meta stuff for anyone who cares: NL is dummy flat, with very British-y environment and roads and car types. They drive on the right. Also yellow number plates - one of the only countries in the EU which uses yellow number plates everywhere - with the EU sticker on the side. The blue EU sticker is what differentiates British cars from Dutch ones if you don’t know your left and right. I understand dutch since I speak a creole of it, but Dutch is unique for its abundance of z letter especially compared to similar languages like German, Frisian, Afrikaans and English. The word “het” appears in Dutch a lot. Confusingly it’s both an article and possessive. Dunno why they need two articles for “the” but oh well. This is irrelevent it’s just my only complaint about Dutch Speaking of Frisian, you might find some of it in the more rural parts of the Netherlands too. For people unfamiliar with it, it looks like Dutch but wrong and that’s kind of the way you recognise it Unique signs in NL too. Hard to describe. Can be similar to the Luxembourg signs. “Bike” in Dutch is “fiets”, road is “pad”. These are possibly the two most important Dutch words to learn if you’re starting out country streaks in Europe, since you get bike roads everywhere. This isn’t a common GeoGuessr community meta, but it’s my own personal one I’ve noticed. Cities in NL tend to have three main kinds of roads. Light tar, almost the Greek tar colour, which is the rarest one. Then there’s that special Dutch red brick, and the Scotland-core light grey brick. And finally, they’ve also got the Englishy dark tar in relative abundance. Stone makes a guest appearance every now and then. NL is in my opinion one of the most recognisable countries in the EU! :)
