When replacing the blade put the long part of the allen wrench through a hole in the blade and then slip the end of the allen wrench into one of the screw hole and slide the blade on ,this will line up the holes so you can finger start the other two screws before removing the allen wrench. This will align the screw holde and prevent the dropping of the blade.

Over all good video. But 1. Take the dumb plastic glove off, I get the cut resistant glove but the plastic one just makes working harder. 2. Lay the machine on its side when reinstalling the blade so gravity works with you.

You should remove and turn the sharpening stone assembly 180 degrees and reinstall so that they are safely positioned behind the blade when you are not using them to sharpen the blade. Helps keep them from getting clogged with bits of food as well.

Just used my Beswood 240 for the first time this past weekend. Was fantastic!!!! While cutting meat for jerky, quiet motor, slices like buttah!! But when you clean it, make sure you have some no cut gloves, cuz that circular blade is sharp and a bit heavy and will easily cut you. After cleaning, I lined up the screw holes on the blade using the provided hex-wrench (blade was a little awkward to reinstall. Once blade was rough installed, I stuck the wrench in a screw hole to GENTLY shift the blade to match the holes to make the screws fit. Careful not to push too hard, you don't want to bend the hex-wrench. Cleaning is little tricky, but the slicer as a whole is excellent.

Regarding replacing the blade: I believe sticking a Phillips screwdriver in the hole so the blade cannot fall would make installing the blade easier and safer… Note: We just bought this model and will be cleaning it later… I’ll follow up with my screwdriver idea..

I got the Cuisinart and used it until a sacrificial gear stripped in it. I bought this slicer to upgrade and it will be here in a couple days. As I'd only had the Cuisinart a couple months they are sending me a replacement as well, so I'll have a nice premium slicer and a cheapy for light duty.

Yeah I wish there was a blade and cover quick release, the Allen wrench is really a chore
@harleyrdr1
@harleyrdr1 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheChanClanLife While I have to agree the three screws are a chore, some others are using Phillips screws which if they get siezed or semi siezed will strip or round out. I think the Allens are a MUCH better screw in this application. Lesser of two evils, if-you-will. LOL!

Mounting that blade does look hazardous like you mentioned. How about some kind of neodymium magnet handle to position it with one hand while putting first screw in with the other? Just a thought.

This looks like a clone of a Berkel slicer which is made by Hobart. That’s a good price for the quality

Get rid of the loose fitting plastic glove ! Maybe hold the cutting from the center hole. There are two safety problems in this slicer , 1 The cutting blade does not lock for removal . 2 The blade should have a threaded screw stick insert into the first screw that is removed about 6 inches long to clean or change the blad.

Before I bought my Beswood Meat Slicer that looks like yours, I had one of those cheapy saw blade meat slicers. I was so disgusted with the thing that I donated mine to Goodwill. We get what we pay for. But I didn't even want the Beswood 10" but I got tired of those people working in the meat departments in our stores whining about cross contamination when they were too damn lazy to clean the equipment though I was willing to pay them for any extra work that was involved. I also ended up buying a frozen meat and bone cutter so I can reduce the size of my pork belly since they don't want to do it. But buying both of these will be so helpful and I won't have to deal with a bunch of crybabies in the meat department.

I just purchased this unit, but with the carbon steel blade so I'm guessing it's a slightly cheaper unit. I've read the reviews regarding the finish on the unit and would like to know how yours is standing up or your opinion. I noticed the blade slipped when you were adjusting it to line up, a small piece of soft 3/4 pine board below would work as a precaution and would prevent any ding to blade or base. Thanks for the video, it appears I may have made a good choice, you always second guess yourself.

What's the deal with the stupid plastic gloves? First off, you are at home and not serving the public. If you are worried about getting raw food on your hands, buy some Nitrile gloves that actually fit your hands. They are inexpensive and you will have a much better experience.

Not sure why you wouldn't lay the slicer on its back to easily set the blade in and align. (P.S. they're not bolts, they're screws. Bolts have nuts.). Please ALWAYS get filming help from the start....the one-handed portion of the video was annoying. Also...if this is a demo of the slicer, why leave out sharpening process, or at least short demo?

First off why are you handling the blade with one hand?? And 2nd why do you have a plastic glove over your safety glove?, I understand cleanliness but your sacrificing safety. Put down that camera or get someone to hold it for you. Omg you gave me anxiety 🤣
