Totally agree about being open about mental health. People who don't experience depression and/or other mental health concerns need to be able to put a face with things. It helps to keep it real for people and helps highlight how there is no one mode that all people with depression fall into. It's helped me since I've been more open about my own struggles with depression and ADHD.

8:50 Anxiety truly sucks, I've been through that. Hearing you say you smoke because of it (or smoked if you quit, it's been two years since you posted), I can only hope it's not that bad. Thanks so much for your anxiety/depression representation, that's just unequivocally good work. Extremely important work that doesn't hurt anyone and can help so many. I'll stop myself before I gush too much. That was my main point, personal experience ahead: (Unlike you..!?) my school friends always said I was SOOO laid back and chill (I was the 'dad' of the friend group - they reckoned I should be a stand-up comedian, I made lame jokes and asked about how peoples' lives were going) but I was riddled (downright RIDDLED) with anxiety the entire time they knew me. They were very surprised when they found out. I'm pretty chill as a person, and I also have to deal with this condition and don't want to worry others because I want them to be happy. Easy things for others aren't necessarily easy for me, but hard things for others I already have some experience with so there are pros and cons. I've since gotten (much) older and made friends who have anxiety and they really got some part of me maybe more than I did. I can't see someone with anxiety honestly believing they are smart without having done a lot of work to get to that point. But for context one of my cultures has 'tall poppy syndrome'. I can say I'm smart now (in some contexts), but only because I've got some distance and realised that 'smart' doesn't mean 'smartest'. I finished a degree in something with darn good grades and was convinced I was the absolute worst at it... until 5+ years later. But everyone experiences anxiety differently. On that note, I would love to know if someone/you, the reader has felt anxiety while also not having imposter syndrome. That is, felt anxiety while still being able to acknowledge themself/yourself as being good at things. I'd even more like to hear about experiences if they/you have ADHD or ASD. Also re: hair: a friend of mine has hair that is like yours in that it is kinda wirey and consistent. It is also amazing and I am jealous in the best way. Natural variety in hair is so fascinating...
