Also worth mentioning that we had to individually pay for flights and hair and makeup everyday which was not provided by Miss USA.

Pop the corn and feed the children! Miss Walker is giving us what we need. Lol I agree with Dani's thoughts and commentary. Some thoughts I had: *Laylah's speech 🙄... giving women voices when she silenced the voices of the 2023 winners while she keeps yapping hers. *I think it was the mid 90s when they started doing the parade of gowns prior to the evening gown competition. *I think a top 20 is too much for USA with 51 contestants. A top 15 that competes in both swimsuits and gowns resulting in a top five would be better. At Universe where there are 80+ contestants needs the top 20. Lesser semifinal spots makes it even more competitive from the prelims. *I didn't like that some girls had capes and some didn't for swimsuit. I actually prefer that they all wear the same swimsuit and maybe just stick with a one piece or two piece option. *That scepter looks like something I can get at Party City. If they want to go with a scepter, make it match the crown and make it bigger. *This is something that's bugged me since 2011 when they made this switch but I hate that the runner up doesn't get her moment as she doesn't get announced. I preferred the announcement of the first runner up then the winner like they did up to 2010. *Do you think they chose a winner who would be a good Miss USA or someone who could do well maybe even win Universe? I think Michigan fits the first rather than the latter. Thank you for this video and looking forward to the next one!
@DaniWalker4 ай бұрын
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for your Super Thanks! This is such a huge help for the channel! You brought up some great points too. Also, I think the reason they announce the winner as they do now is for the news clips that are shared the next day. It's so you can hear the winners name called as she reacts to the announcement. If you announce the runner up, you'll get the queen's reaction at that moment, but when taken out of context for the news, it's confusing to see the queen react when her state wasn't announced.

Hello Dani and everyone, I am not sure where to begin, but to be blunt. I have been watching the Miss USA pageant since the 90s, and I never thought the day would come that I would be so sad to see the decline of this wonderful pageant. I remember as a young child waiting for weeks in anticipation for the pageant to come on. I remember going to the grocery store and waiting to open the TV Guide to see the Miss USA ad in the pages LOL. It was such a pain to watch this years pageants. My goal was to only support and cheer on the beautiful ladies. I honestly didn't care who won because I am so nervous for the winner being around Layla and her group of YES people. What is the saddest part of this whole mess is seeing all the state directors step down. All the legendary men and women who sent the best of the best. The Mills, Kimberly Nicewonder, Britt Boyse, Melissa Proctor....so sad to see the years of history gone in a blink of th eye. I actually started my channel to honor GuyRex and their contribution to the Miss USA system. These individuals are irreplaceable. Thank you Dani for your honesty and using your voice to speak up. I am praying for change and hoping that Miss USA will get back to its glory days.

Omg @Dani Walker!!! I knew I had to look for your video as soon as I watched the pageant. I thought I needed to keep my not-so-good comments to myself and wait for your video about the pageant. And I’m happy we have the same sentiment. It’s just not the same Miss USA pageant from previous years :( but I do wish Alma Cooper all the best at the MU stage.

Then need to go ahead and hire you. This recap was so accurate and amazing. I agree with everything you said. The only thing I can think of is maybe they cut the budget this year because they lost so many sponsors with all the backlash. Hopefully they will make next year better because they have recouped what they lost. Its not fair to these ladies at all. Please Hire Dani so she can save your pageant.

Just coincidentally back in 1993 venue was held in Mexico city and our Miss USA representative 1993 was Kenya Summer Moore from Michigan, and 31 years later venue is Mexico city and our Miss USA 2024 representative Alma Cooper, also hails from Michigan , I'm just hoping the Mexican audience will have pure respect and love for these contestants that are far away from home, nobody deserves any cruelty, these pageants should be a good fun eventful journey, and the live audience and online audience needs to show more compassion with these gals that are truly carrying there countries on there backs, regardless win or lose, we need to support the contestants who are working HARD to show us a good show 😊

That aspect was missing from this Miss USA. I'm glad you mentioned this. I am thankful you got to experience Miss USA as a contestant when it was at its peak.

I still don’t understand why other leading power beauty pageant countries haven’t followed the amazing Miss South Africa organisations example?

The tea party made me think of Miss America since they did this in January with their Miss contestants. The only difference is that the Misses had the tea party with their state’s ’little sisters’ which is ages 5/6-11/12 (I cannot remember exact ages) as a way to bond and mentor with them.

I've always been a fan of beauty pageants, and I can remember growing up how many girls wished or dreamt wanting to become Miss USA. It's unfortunate how it has fallen because pageants aren't as popular in the states as they used to be and CLEARLY we can all see that Layla Rose only cares for is a PAYCHECK and think shes Miss USA. As a business major, there are so many options and ideas that they can take for the miss USA organization to keep it running well and bring it back to its glory, But again, these new people in charge only care for a PAYCHECK and not the contestants or the legacy of the pageant.

I always enjoy your videos, and man...this year's pageant was rough indeed. Things that would have improved the pageant: 1. Introducing the contestants while they are walking down Hollywood Walk of Fame dressed as bootleg Disney characters. 2. Substituting swimwear with scuba suits. 3. Substituting gowns with comfy sweats, since that seems to be what Miss USA will be wearing as she sits in her apartment in Miami watching Netflix instead of doing appearances and fashion shows. 4. Giving the winner a giant lollipop instead of those weird, sad flowers; it would have lasted longer. 5. Literally anything creative, entertaining, classy, or, you know...anything...

I stopped watching after they named the top 5 because they were so lackluster...I definitely agree that a number of contestants with stage presence and sprakle (Va, especially) were overlooked even after outstanding prelims and during the show.......I don't expect much success in Miss Universe unless there is a lot of training for the new Miss USA.....

This pageant was sooooo disappointing. In my opinion, Laylah has really brought down the value of Miss USA & Miss Teen USA. I will say that I'm glad to see the teens televised again. If this is how the future of the pageant, even the biggest of pageant fans will no longer watch. I wish Crystle Stewart was still directing. In two years, she was able to get a Miss Universe crown with R'bonney. I just don't see our country win if this is how the competition is going to be ran. Laylah has to be willing to compromise, take the criticism, & learn from it instead of getting so easily offended. We're going to lose our #POWERHOUSE status in the future. #SMH

The Miss USA Pageant 2024 was a disappointing departure from its usual glamour and high production values, appearing notably low-budget and carelessly executed. The food provided to the contestants was subpar, forcing family members to step in and supply snacks and additional beverages to keep their loved one hydrated throughout their busy days. The overall pacing felt disjointed, with lackluster production structure and an uninspired judges' panel further diminishing the event's appeal. This year’s pageant was a stark letdown, underscoring a need for significant improvements to meet the standards of this iconic competition.
