Yeah his upper body pressing skills are just aamazing You can simply see that his upper body strenght it's way better then lower body. Squating 280kg for 105kg WL it's not top level but what keeps him in game it's fking upperbody strenght. If he will improve his squat/frontsquat he will be at the top but now he is training 4fun - btw i love this guy.

that depends because the strict press is not a popular movement. people use steroids for many sports. weightlifters use them, powerlifters use them, crossfitters use them. none of them must strict press what he presses, but many powerlifters below 85kg can deadlift much more than him.

Incredibly strong and explosive with great form and mobility. This is why you do oly lifting. And why it is superior to any other barbell sport. Obviously there are tons of steroids involved and it would be naive to downplay their importance in his success but as everyone in the sport uses it is still his amazing work ethic and discipline that makes him stand out in a world full of talent.

@FrameForgeQuest
@FrameForgeQuest 6 жыл бұрын
harleyzeth I know this comment is over 1 year old, but yeah. Klokov is 6'0" (183 cm) just like me (its the only thing I'll ever have in common with him, lol). Its weird because the -105kg weight class seems too light for lifters this height, and in the +105 kg weight class you will find guys much bigger and taller than that. But I think klokov would have done great at superheavyweight also, the guy is just a beast. There was another russian weightlifter with this same height named Dmitry Lapikov. He competed first at -105 kg, hit 185 kg snatch and 230 kg clean & jerk. Then he decided to go for the superheavyweights and hit 215 kg snatch and 251 kg clean & jerk. Then you have Vasily Polovnikov who's a lot shorter (like 5'8", 5'9") who also competed succesfully in the -105 kg, even if you think he should compete in the -85 kg (edit: or at max in the -94kg) based on his height. Those russians are crazy lol

I agree with the comment regarding discrepancy in leg lengths. His foot positions for all the lifs are noticeably different to account for this. He also had quite a significant shoulder injury on the right whilst trying something ridiculous like a 265k jerk (?!) - since then, he says he's always rotated towards that shoulder (you can see it in this video on the heavy jerk). Maybe the wider stance stops him spinning whilst pressing?? Either way, these videos are just beastly - who says Olympic lifting is all in the lower body? Obviously it MOSTLY is but still :-D
