As a Guatemalan living in Toronto since age 5 I strongly agree with your points of view of Guatemala. Great footage and description of what people dont hear and see of the country. I hope your videos keep inspiring Canadians and tourists from all over the world to visit the little central american gem.

I have said the same thing for years and have been to all sorts of places people told me were too dangerous - but they weren't. Like you said, use your common sense, but then go. Go to Columbia. Go to El Salvador or Guatemala. Go to Morocco and Algeria. Go to the Philippines. Go to Lebanon. You will find the best people in the world in all those places. The world is awesome - not scary. That is the media's fault.

@@dialogarconlahistoria8229 Lebanon was awesome! I went to Beirut in the Fall of 2019 and stayed at an Airbnb hosted by the nicest gentleman. He even took me around Beirut for free. I was there during demonstrations but felt totally safe. The army guys protected foreigners and were very friendly, but then so was everybody I met, even the demonstrators! True story.

My exploratory trip to Guatemala has been delayed a bit, but it's your channel that keeps my heart clear on why I'm likely moving there, to Panajachel, if my maiden voyage goes well. Thank you for sharing the beautiful country and la gente de Guatemala!

You bring me to tears with your videos and with your positive as well as honest comments about my Guatemala. I was born and lived there on and off due to my Fathers career. Guatemala, like any other country in the world, has its beauty and amazing traditions and cultures, political corruption, drug issues, as well as poverty, crime, unemployment, and broken people. The SECRETE to staying safe, wherever you travel is not to go out at nite (unless accompanied by a native of that Country) and don’t wonder off where you’ve been warned not to. THANK YOU, FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, FOR LOVING MY COUNTRY!!! God bless your travels!!

Its really nice to see a fellow Canadian discover the Guatemala I know so well. Ive been coming to Guatemala for 40 years and friends back home often ask me what I like the most! my answer is always, the sense of family and community. You will forge friendships here that will endure your life duration. when your in Pana stop by Posada de Los Volcanes on calle Santander, if its in the evening I will buy you a coffee. Stay safe

Thanks for sharing such an excellent video of your experience in Beautiful Guatemala ! I spent almost four months from Dec to March and i had a wonderful time , I walked every where in the city day and night taking pictures and video without not even one moment in danger even though one person told me to be careful . I have been to many places here in USA and it's not as safe as Guatemala. Guatemala is safer than many countries around the world ! Enjoy this magical country ! Blessings !
