That poor boy is innocent and was wrongly convicted!! His poor mother needs compassion and help, she doesn’t deserve to be treated this way!! She’s living in total poverty with no heat or water or even a toilet and that too is a miscarriage of justice!!

I agree..this story, truly breaks my heart.. it’s twisted to see the helplessness of victims by miscarriage of justice .. it can happen to anybody, and no one should feel abandoned and alone in situations like this.. I thank the creators of this episode, and whoever try to help, bringing it to the public awareness..

Exactly his mother is also a victim as well as his dog Mia and now his other dog that his mother has they're all victims not just the poor Girl's family and her. It's very sad and if he's been railroaded than this poor boy is innocent to I mean I've never heard of conviction on circumstantial evidence. I think they need to give him like 10 million dollars in reparations for what they did to him and his mother very very sad I hope that this thing all over the news now will change things I mean he's lost all those years has mother sick now you can't bring that back.

Look up the West Midlands Serious Crime Squad, the Birmingham 6 and Birmingham Pub bombings.... And that's just the entrance to that rabbit hole. Over 60 wrongful convictions and massive corruption. Nobody lost their job. The corruption went to the very top of the establishment, the contents and outcome of the public inquiry are still secret to this day.... And no. I'm not talking about the current inquiry into West Midlands police involving more of the same. That's a new one

It depends so much on the jury. If the judge is good at his job, he will essentially give the jury a crash course in relevant law/ethics/procedures etc and supervise and explain what exactly they are supposed to be doing. But given that, all it takes is one or two not listening properly to the judge or disregarding him, one or two trying to influence others, a few individuals who are easily swayed or won't properly examine the facts and evidence for themselves and bingo you've got a mess.

The sister withdrew the part of her statement that corroborated Luke’s that Mia dog alerted at the wall. She’s so untrustworthy she’ll probably join Police Scotla…ah she already has. @@lisafraser7896 my point exactly the jury heard the EVIDENCE of which there appeared to be no actual EVIDENCE but only conjecture, belief, assumptions (all of which are not EVIDENCE) and little circumstantial evidence, and I use the term loosely for circumstantial evidence because anyone can spin any story around that to suit their agenda, just look at what the media contributes to many cases, never let the truth get in the way of a good story. I am for justice and seeing that system adhered to (I'm not for the case or criminal) and not getting what you want or believe by any means but getting what you can prove beyond any reasonable doubt within the law; the saying used to be "better 10 guilty men go free than 1 innocent man go to jail" it appears now we adhere to better 10 innocent men go to jail than 1 guilty man go free, I hope you never find you or yours in that second 10 innocent in jail. I don't even think Jodi can rest in peace. If they are so convinced that they got the right guy, why are they afraid of clearing the names of the other possible suspects? I mean, what have they got to lose? I have seen cases based on circumstantial evidence, but my God, it was very strong circumstantial evidence. This defies logic. I just hope, that this documentary refreshes the minds of people who may have seen the killer/s, and that they come forward, and get this case back in court. Guilty people are unable to say that they can get up every morning and know in their heart they did not do this! The mother also is adamant and she is the one who installed morals into her son. They are both looking the public in the eye and telling their truth. Those are not words of a guilty man. He is adamant that he is innocent. My gut tells me that this man did not do this. I feel for the family and I am truly sorry that your daughters beautiful name continues to be discussed, when someone was found guilty. However if this young man did not do this, his life has also been taken away from Him. Very sad.

I wonder why they will not disclose the name and particulars about the last suspect. Wtf is up with that? Also, maybe it was more than one person that committed this heinous act...? And i wonder... seems there would have been some finger prints at that scene too, and where do the DNA results from her body and the condom wrapper point to? I mean, they tested the DNA on the shirt and let us know that. You know they did and have tested the other DNA juices so where does that lead? Why only a partial reveal on this story? I hope they have results for all the questions and are just keeping it close to the vest for the future 'correction of justice'. Im sad for mom and son... i hope it all works out and they get the best attorney in the country and sue the pants offa everyone for wrongful imprisonment and everything else that entails. I hope someday mom can hav a nice home for her son to care for her in.

A innocent man is sitting in jail! If there is Forensic evidence that shows his innocents, then they should actually redo the court case, the prime Minister of Scotland should throw out the conviction especially since he was a minor and they didn't give him his rights( this isn't the U.S. ) but this should be the rights no matter what country or state your in! This is fowl justice ! Also the people in charge of the first investigation should be accountable for the misleading and assuming , instead of actual standing evidence! This original court hearing should be thrown out! Remind me never to go anywhere near this place in Scotland, because thier justice system is obsolete ( unjust).

I couldn’t imagine doing time for someone else’s crime. Luke is clearly innocent, you could tell from the start.. he was found guilty purely by being judged on his looks and his quirky way of life. It’s absolutely rotten, for all of these years he’s maintained his innocence, and all the proof is there that he’s truthful. When he gets out I hope he goes for every single news paper, every single person, every police officer, the prisons and the court who maliciously slandered his name keeping him prisoner under insufficient proof or evidence, this man never committed the crime.

In cases like this, when a wrongful conviction occurs, especially for high profile "m" cases, I believe it's more about law enforcement ego than anything else. They refuse to publicly admit they were wrong at any cost. We have a couple of high profile cases occurring now in the U.S. that may fall into this category, and both are death penalty eligible cases. Horrifying.

The "legal" system cannot and will not admit when they've made a mistake. I've read and heard about so many that police have focused on as the sole perpetrator, only to have them exonerated after years spent in prison. That appears to be what happened in this case as well. The police and prosecutor were more concerned with an arrest and conviction than in finding the truth.

So sad. Extremely sad that Jodi was so horrifically murdered. But it seems to me that justice for Jodi has yet to be served up to anyone involved. Luke is, in my opinion based on the evidence presented in these documentaries innocent and Jodi's killer was unfortunately not identified. Her killer left behind his DNA but authorities failed to fully follow the path the EVIDENCE was showing them. Instead they focused like a laser on Luke and built their case with the help of the media and an innocent man paid the price he did not owe😢. His Mum has also paid a very high price that she did not owe either. Heartbreaking.
