@@dimebag0474 the amp output is only a Mono signal, so it will only go out left if you are using a TRRS (stereo) cable. You'd have to use a single TRS to mono splitter to send the mono signal to both speakers. It wont be a true stereo image still, but you'll get sound out of both

Correct me if i'm wrong please. no one is clear about it
@DarkRoastRecording
@DarkRoastRecording 10 ай бұрын
On an Android device, live use would be very tricky. Its a fact that Android devices have bigger latency and there's only so much you can do about it. Honestly for live use, you would be much better off using an iPhone, anything from an iPhone X and newer would be light years better for latency than any Android phone. I know, the truth hurts, but it is the truth of the matter.

Does IRig 2 have a latency issue on Android while using headphones for monitoring?
@DarkRoastRecording
@DarkRoastRecording 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The latency comes from the processed signal, so if you set the irig to “thru” , you will be hearing no latency, but it is very hard to record anything that way with a metronome because you will be ahead of the beat. Android has latency more than iOS devices, but side android phones have way better latency than others, and so it’s not too big a deal depending on your device. Plus, it you use A USB interface with Deplike, it can get rid of any latency.
@SilvioAmbrosini
@SilvioAmbrosini 3 жыл бұрын
@@DarkRoastRecording when you say "use a USB interface", you mean instead of pluging into the audio jack?
@DarkRoastRecording

Yes exactly, usb is much faster than the signal coming into the headphone Jack and gets processed faster, therefore reduces the latency. For that, you would use an irig hd2 or link digital from bandlab, and usb interface

I tried using iRig2 with my Android phone and as soon as I plug my guitar in I get nothing but a screaching feedback that goes on until I close the app. I am using headphones to monitor so it shouldn't be feedback from them. Also, as another comment stated my phone and many other Android devices have too much latency to be useful as any kind of serious practice or recording device while using the Deplike app. Also, Only the basic configuration of noise gate, basic amp, delay pedal (which exasperates the screechy feedback unless the mix on the pedal is turned all the way down and renders the pedal useless) Orange sim can and looper are free. You have to pay for any other configuration. Overall so far I'm not a fan of deplike. Are there any workable Android alternatives out there?
@WhiteRaven___

Be careful though, the new Irig HD 2 with USB connexion is not compatible with Android at this point. it will likely work, but the latency may be bad. only way to know is to try it out. Samsung and Pixel devices are the best for latency.

Thanks for watching! All you need is the irig2 or any Usb interface like the bandlab link digital, tc helicon go guitar pro. They will work with almost any guitar app on android, just not amplitude. Thats why i recommend Deplike.

There is always latency on Android devices, but the type of android phone could make the difference. Pixel, Samsing and Blackberry devices have all tested with good latency, LG and Huawei for example are not good.

@@DarkRoastRecording I have a Google Pixel 4a and cannot even get it to recognize the audio coming from the headphone jack when recording. I plugged in a quarter inch cable from the main out of the drums, tried both connections on the iRig, and have it plugged into the headphone jack of my phone. Put when I try and record a video, the audio is all external and has nothing from the drum module. Any ideas?

@@DarkRoastRecording yea it's a shame since it is perfect for people like me who aren't too tonally fussy and just want a close sound to the artists. According to their twitter all of the designers left the company that made the pedals etc. Maybe poached by another amp sim company that charges money for their services?

I find it very disappointing when people upload these videos and expect to get a like and follow when they do these silly videos and assume things are just going to plug and play instantaneous. Every video I"ve seen has not one "problems" relating to latency or why the Android phone is picking up sound from the speakers, NOTHING! My voice is returning to the headphones! I bought the iRig, downloaded the Deplike and I hear my cell phone speakers picking up everything. THIS VDEO IS MISSING SETTUP DETAILS!

What irig version are you using? I recently got an irig 1 - one of the older ones - and it I have a very high latency and many issues with my android phone. I have hear that they irigs newer versions are meant to have less latency with Android devices and the original was designed for iPhones. If you're in the same boat as me, I would recommend seeing if you can borrow an iPhone or iPad from someone to try the irig and see if you like it before upgrading for your use

@@nexion2406 I finally got it to work but its latency is still a real nuisance. I'm using a Moto by Cricket. The problem was a brand new cable extension for the headphone because the unit (iRig) the cable that goes to the headphone is so short that its very difficult to keep control and fumbles and you get all kinds of cracks and pops, its connection length is way to short! So, I put an extension for the headphones length and I unplugged that and connected my guitar cable directly and it worked. Latency was still there. I'm not going to buy a new phone or tablet. I have almost every plug in from Amplitube on my MacPro and use it with Logic and love it but the cell phone is crap unless one wants to spend stupidly 500+ on a cell phone. I lost ALL-ALL faith in Apple! They are supporting AI with their Globalist agenda and nano chips. I hate them all! I'll keep my MacBook Pro and fk all these new phones and crap!

@@nexion2406 I'm sorry I forgot to mention that it's iRig 2! I'm going to take it back and get my money back and hold on until I can afford a battery powered amp to play in the park cuz I'm going nuts in this house with this covid crap and my original intentions were to buy a battery-powered amp so I can at least go jam at the park somewhere but I ended up getting this iRig to adapter thinking that it would work with my Android phone but I can't stand the latency. Like I said I love using amplitube on my MacBook Pro and with my whole setup it sounds fantastic but my God I'm trying to write music and everybody's stuck at home paranoid afraid to jam with other people so the best thing is to just get a battery powered amp and go gym at the park somewhere man this is insane.
