After the passing of her son, I think she lost all will to live but tried her best to be strong for her daughters. A truly heartbreaking ending for Lisa Marie. Thank you Dr. Grande for this look into her life and the difficulties of growing up in the shadow of her father.

I lost my daughter to the same as Benjamin, the same year and roughly same age, you do lose the will to live in the days/weeks that follow one’s child taking their own life, you do have to keep living for your existing kids (I had 5 more kids) I fear in lisa-Marie’s case, she already had so many things she was dealing with since childhood she just couldn’t do it anymore.. her heart gave out. I’ve had a mini stroke and heart pulpitsions due to my loss.. it wouldn’t surprise me if all her grief and pain (and the drugs) took its toll on her precious heart.. rip lisa-Marie, us mothers are often called survivors of child-suicide, lisa-Marie didn’t survive. Bless her heart.

I've been thinking of Lisa Marie Presley lately due to the news of her death. It would seem she won the life lottery, but I think her life was more of a curse than anything. She went through a lot; her father's early death, the suicide of her son Benjamin, her own health and addiction struggles, and her dissolved marriages. I always admired her "edgy elegance ", her fashion sense, and her tenacity. I hope she finds the peace that eluded her in life.

I believe that she did indeed have a stressful and traumatic life. She had her father for only a few short years, then suffered from a vicious drug problem. Finally, the loss of her son would have been soul-crushing, something from which she could never truly heal. May she rest in peace 🕊️

Sad. When I read that she hit rock bottom with drugs and then "walked into the church OF SCIENTOLOGY and said "help me," I realized this girl never knew a normal life. She said it as if it were a normal church or a mental health clinic. Celebs live in totally detached fantasy worlds which can be good or deadly depending on their ability to handle wealth/fame. Addiction truly is a heritable disease to a large extent & I'm sure losing her son put it over the edge (like Anna Nicole).

Seeing her father dead on the bathroom floor had to have left a trauma that she never got over. When my husband was nine, he was taking a bath when his father came into the bathroom, collapsed and died, blocking the exit. It left a deep trauma.

Whatever age you are when you lose a parent, it's traumatic. I was almost 50 in 2021 when I saw my dad lying on the ground surrounded by paramedics who tried to revive him, but unfortunately couldn't. "Don't you leave us, Dad! Come back!" I was saying. But he was already gone. Died suddenly. He had been fine that morning, talking about how his eldest grandsons were turning eight the next week. He was looking forward to celebrating their birthday. His death hit the three older grandchildren hard (they were almost eight and five), but the two youngest, three and almost two, didn't understand why Granddad wasn't there anymore. "He's in a special place" they were told. At least none of them were there when it happened. The older boys would have said: "Something's wrong with Granddad!" The younger boys would have said: "Granddad's fallen down! He won't get up!"

The suicide of her young son Ben didn't help her state of mind either. She had a tragic life right in front of her eyes. Also it appears depression ran in her families history, her Grandmother Gladys always appeared sad and depressed in her photos plus she was an alcoholic. So all these issues ran in her family however it's tragic for her remaining young daughters, now they have no mother and Priscilla is 77 yrs old now, I am heartbroken for Lisa's girls and her Mother. I don’t know for certain if Lisa Presley was abusing drugs or alcohol before her death, but perhaps she suffered from “broken heart syndrome “ since the death of. Her sun. It’s a real condition and that, her family history and her possible addiction to pills and /or alcohol , could very well have led to her premature death at age 54. I didn’t know her personally but we are the same age and I lost my father at age 9 also - I’ve always felt a connection to her for that reason ….. making light of her life and death with song quotes was jn poor taste Todd Grande . Often you have a dry , witty sense of humor but this time , it just wasn’t funny.

I'm actually a friend of the deceased Lisa Presley. I was with her that day when her Father graciously offered to take myself and a few of her friends on a jet plane joy ride with her Father, Elvis. We were all children at the time and it was a great day out. I had never actually been on a Lear jet before. It was only later that I learned that one of the other children on the plane was a young Carrie Fisher and Jodie Foster. Both soon to be movie stars. All good friends of the child pop singer Michael Jackson. Danny Bonnaduce was going to come along as well; But, He failed to show up at the airport with his minder. We were all Mouseketeers:)

There are probably only a hand full of people in the world that can relate to her upbringing and all the weirdness, pressures, disappointment, and lonliness that were part of it. Most people would think that the success and money she had access to were a huge blessing. But very few people can handle that kind of environment. With a living legend rock god for a father, and a Scientologist for a mother, Michael Jackson and Nick Cage for husbands, really amazed she lasted as long as she did. The horrible thing you do when you spoil children, is create a false reality. They hit the real world and either become depressed or narcissistic. In Lisa Marie's case, she was the former, depressed that her life peaked at 9 years old. The fairy-tale suddenly became a gilded cage, from which she never really escaped.

I own all her albums and absolutely loved them all, she spoke to a lot of the anger and hurt those of us in our 20s during the 2000s felt. When I was a lil kid due to my mom being a fan I was a fan of her fathers music as well, but honestly given a choice between her music and her fathers I much preferred her music. She had talent, she was more talented than the pop stars out during that time and today in that she personally wrote nearly all the lyrics and melody on her albums, which is something her father never got into he only sung and played a lil guitar. She was still young, I think it really broke her heart losing her son to suicide in the summer of 2020 and she never fully got over it even thou she still had three children to keep living for. I also think there's just something in Elvis' family line going back to his mother, himself and even his father all died really young. It's sad all around, I hope when Lisa passed that her father and son were there at heaven's gates to welcome her home to eternal peace. My thoughts and prayers to her mother and daughters.

Making light of this tragedy with all those references at the end people unfamiliar with Elvis music will not understand, Dr. Grande is a real devil in disguise

Lisa's actual grandmother died in 1958. The person The Dr refers too is her stepgran Dee, who married Vernon in 1960.

Thank you Dr. Grande for a pretty thorough analysis, it was a lot packed into a short video. You did very well!! She was a beautiful woman and soul. She had big shoes to fill, and I can't imagine being in her shoes, not even close. I'm really sad about her struggles her whole life. Her focus on death her whole life. Her missing her dad - ELVIS - her whole life. Her struggle with almost everything. Lisa, you will come back and be able to accomplish the things you wanted to, you were just born into the most famous household in the world.

That was a great observation Dr. Grande, Lisa Marie seemed to me to be a sad person I wish she could have found herself and who she really was rather then being just Elvis's daughter. It's hard too when addictions run in families these things are truly hereditary a constant battle for some people like Elvis and Lisa Marie and a lot of other people!

Even without addictions some people struggle to find their way in life. No matter how hard they try. Even when they believe in God and have faith. Because of emotional baggage. You don’t have to have an addiction to struggle.

Nicolas Cage was obsessed with Elvis & to marry his daughter was most likely fulfilling a fantasy of being as close as you can get to Elvis. No wonder why the marriage didn't last. 🤔

I know quite a bit of Elvis history, but still found your analysis not suspicious at all in my mind! It was very informative as usual and I am impressed that you were able to intertwine eight or so Elvis classics in your narrative. It will be interesting to find out what the autopsy shows and I hope for the best. I know drugs is one of the causes of sudden cardiac arrest, factoring in the way she looked at the Golden Globes. Thank you, as always, Dr. Grande.

@Luke Szweziuk Didn't Vernon seal Elvis's autopsy for 50 years? We got the toxicology reports ,but not the complete autopsy. Yes, may God hold Lisa Marie in the palm of his hand and may she finally be at peace with her beloved father and son.

Dr. Grande, you surely are always spot on. 👌 Just the facts. I must say, her son Ben was what held her together ❤️. Am saddened that her life was cut short because Ben took his. To live in the limelight of a family member must be terribly cruel to our inner sanctum. Thank you always for breaking everything down so beautifully. 🙏
