It's truly a remarkable thing that when we are in the midst of the breakup, our whole world feels like its coming undone but once we face the truth that it just wasn't meant to be, the awakening that ensues is one of the most enlightening things ever. This is probably one of the few tracks that truly captures the pain and redemption of the process.

Was in a toxic and abusive relationship for nearly 5 years, and the mental scars from those years still linger... but I moved on. I cried my heart out listening to this song when I realized I was free. I was over that person, finally. Met a wonderful man who's still helping pick up the pieces from before but also strengthened me. The scars are still there, but they don't hurt me anymore.

Was in a toxic and abusive relationship too but it was mutual. Because the girl that I was with was a mentally crazy person that didn't like it when I always told her to leave and never come back here ever again. But she wouldn't leave at all and that was when I left her and that was the end of our relationship. Because I ended it when I left her for good.

Dear whoever is reading this, if you have recently had your heart broken just know. If he/she couldn’t see how great you are then they weren’t the right one for you but don’t let that stop. Keep going! The Lord has a plan and He won’t give up on you. He has everything taken care of so just trust in Him and His timing. The right one is out there somewhere so don’t give up and trust in the Lord. He will provide.

I will add sometimes people are red flags but other times people can't except that your unique in Christ and your "not too good to be true" your just genuine and love Jesus! I'm happy still being single at 30 and living my life for my saviour then being someone else who I'm not and being unhappily married. I can do all things through CHRIST which strengthens me! ❤

@annmarie68702 жыл бұрын
The man I was with for 4 months became such an addiction and yet no one in the church was on my side so all I could think of doing was trying to make the assistant pastor feel small and oddly enough I really just didn’t care no one cared about me when the 4 month relationship with the elder was abusive or starting to become abusive but God is good (even though I’m upset and He told me multiple times not to be with this man) I still need to be mad at someone so I’m putting it on God instead of acting out more. I think God is bigger than any church, any church member, and any leader of the church or elder so I think He can handle it.

Ppl are like it's been three years why ain't you over it? Because what's three years compared to a lifetime of abuse? A lifetime of trauma after trauma after trauma... And I'm built different... When everything shouldve made me act out and turn cold and be this horrible person I turned it inward and I broke down because at the end of the day I thought destroying me would be better than destroying others like I had been. What keeps me going? God and this little thing called Hope ... Hope that even though there's so much darkness that still light can come from it all... Because I did 💜 I still believe in the good and the better after all this I just have to learn to let it in again... Trust.... And the truth is the only way someone can ever reach that with me... Love On and Shine On you beautiful lights💜💯✝️

I never went out of my way to listen to their songs, but I also didnt dislike any songs I've heard from them. I dont hear their music anywhere anymore but the few times I do, it feels extremely nostalgic to me. I'm listening through a bunch of songs that were hits in the early-mid 2000's and hearing their music again makes me really miss when I was younger and the popular music was better in general.

And I never thought I'd doubt you I'm better off without you More than you, more than you know I'm slowly getting closure I guess it's really over I'm finally gettin' better Now I'm picking up the pieces From spending all of these years Putting my heart back together 'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through, I got over you! You took a hammer to these walls Dragged the memories down the hall Packed your bags, and walked away There was nothing I could say And when you slammed the front door shut A lot of others opened up So did my eyes, so I could see That you never were the best for me Well, I never saw it coming I should have started running A long, long time ago! Well, I never saw it coming I should have started running A long, long time ago! And I never thought I'd doubt you I'm better off without you More than you, more than you know Well, I never saw it coming I should have started running A long, long time ago! And I never thought I'd doubt you I'm better off without you More than you, more than you know I'm slowly getting closure I guess it's really over I'm finally gettin' better Now I'm picking up the pieces From spending all of these years Putting my heart back together Putting my heart back together 'Cause I got over you, I got over you, I got over you The day I thought I'd never get th rough, I got over you

I believe it! 8 months ago my ex and I broke it off it ended in a bad way. Shortly after, she immediately found another guy. I was so upset! and I missed her so much I tried going no contact. There were times I almost reached out but I knew better and my family and best friend kept me sane. I held out for 7 months and then one day I felt I should get some stuff off my chest and try to fix this. That didn't work so I went back into no contact. But during those 8 months I really felt my emotions and let it all out, crying mostly and it really helped me heal. I couldn't believe the difference I felt after a while. I found out who she really was and the person I loved was only in my head. These days I'm over her but I see her around sometimes and It does trip me up but I remember how far I've come and that pulls me back! Yeah I'll always miss her and I'll think about her sometimes but I'm okay with it. I've made peace with her all by myself.

I never knew this song was about addiction until watching this video. I always associated it with another breakup song. Even then, though, part of me always applied it to my anxiety because just hearing that the hardest times are often when you find the most healing...that notion always made me come back and give this song one more listen. Thank you for giving us something real to hold onto, Mr. Daughtry.

Joe Claspell yup...Joe it's about the 'consequences' of addiction and our actions thereafter. I sadly know all too well, after a long battle with the disease. Mine was not needles or anything that would make you go, 'ew' but it was all the same a life-changing, soul-stealing, loves lost, experience. :/ I have cleaned up a long while now; no need to apologize anymore. JUST LIVE WELL! ;) Xo
