Coaches can't just walk out of their contract and go to another team so I don't know where this Kidd stuff comes from. Lakers would have to try and trade for him if they wanted him to coach next season. It really is amazing how so many in the sports world from fans and "pundits" have no idea how the leagues even work. You saw it with the moronic rumours of the Chargers trading Herbert at the draft despite the fact doing so would result in 129 mil in dead cap, something that can't be done. Or people thinking the Falcons will dump Cousins after the season despite the fact his dead cap would be 65 million.
