I have a kid that’s a Ranger, from what he has said, the delta guys can come from any branch of the military, six team navy guys have to come from the navy, so delta guys have a much broader list of people to recruit

That doesn't really matter though it's what they teach from experience, that goes back through Special Forces since the 50's...the amount of guys that aren't former SF, Ranger, or Were Ranger then SF, is very low

The reason DELTA had to recruit from all branches during the war was because they were dying like flies and the Army needed to fill in the spots. A former DELTA said this on the Shawn Ryan show and most people in DELTA come from Rangers and GB because it's a straight path. DEVGRU only takes the top SEALS from the teams because they have been together for years in the same community and they most know you really well making DEVGRU the tightest teams. All DEVGRU are Combat Divers while only 1 out of 6 of Army SF are and they are light C.D. Just because you put operators from different communities and branches together on their first deployment doesn't mean that they will be tight together. It doesn't work that way in war. Training for years in the same community makes the tightest team.

@@deathfire096 it's funny when people don't think SF can dive, my Dad's A-Team locked out of a submarine into Grenada the night before,..they were supposed to liaison with the Seal Team 4 element that got lost at sea in the sudden storm Helo casting in,so his A-Team split & continue, interesting night, crazy story, the Seal's didn't make contact,they didn't know were lost till next day..R.I.P the fallen warrior's 🫡

That’s only happened once, and it’s not relevant. He went there because DEVGRU wouldn’t take him back after he left the military, Delta would. Recruiting from the entire military is irrelevant. DEVGRU pulls from one of the most experienced pools already.

I don't know any DevGru guys, but I know a Delta (Unit) retired and Team (Seals) guys and they talk about it all the time. I have a friend in Team 3 that wants to go to The Unit. "The Unit" is the best fighting force on the planet! DevGru is very close. I love our soldiers!

You have a few high rank Generals and Admirals below the President and at the end of the day, the President decides which plan and misssion to go. The head of JSOC is in charge of all branches Special Forces and when you get the call from the President to do a mission, you better put your best crew regardless of branches.

JSOC is in charge of all SF in the military. When the President comes to you for a VIP mission, JSOC better put their best plan or they will be fired. That's how the military works.

You wouldn’t even have to finish a navy contract. You can join buds straight from being a civilian now. If you don’t make it you return a civilian. So essentially if it didn’t work out you could hop right into the ranger training.

That's lie. There is no path from DELTA to DEVGRU. You have to be a Combat Diver to be @ DEVGRU. Tyler Grey a former Delta said he couldn't be a SEAL because he can't float let alone ST6. If you can't swim or afraid of the ocean, you join Delta.

What is amazing to me is that President Joe Biden was both a SEAL and a Delta Team Member ...... this was after Joe graduated from the Naval Academy (but hurt his back while on the football team) so he had to drive 18 Wheelers for a while. His Pop worked the mines and ran the three highest selling Chevrolet dealers in Delaware as well. As a kid Joey always helped his Pop by working in the coal mine after he attend Mass, Temple, Mosque and the local black Baptist church every morning. Notwithstanding, Joey's Pop would sit at the kitchen table and then lie awake at night not knowing where the next coal mine paycheck was going to arrive (Pop got paid by the ton) or how big the bonus check from General Motors for his ownership of the top three best selling Chevy dealers would be .... Joey helped the best he could and even found time to join Martin Luther King's famous civil rights marches and then later even traveled to South Africa to demand to visit Nelson Mandela in prison. Four More Years !!

SEALS will do missions from Sea, Air, Land. DELTA will do land and air. All SEALs are Combat Divers. Only 1 out of 6 of Army SF are Combat Diver qualified. Both are long hard pipelines but mastering the ocean is the hardest training in the military.

No… approximately 3 out of 100 complete the training to be Delta. They only select about 200 per year to try out. There is approximately 120 Delta Operators at any given time. 1200 SEALS out of which there are about 150 on Team 6. Now, SEALS and Marine Recon have tried out for Delta, but no Delta Operators have ever tried out for Team 6.

Dumb comment SEALs are train for SEA, AIR, LAND. That's why their pipeline is very long. They have to perform in all 3. Army is just air and land. How are they "better" marksmanship? Try shooting at night taking over a ship or an oil rig or locking from a submarine in the cold ocean. We will see how good you are shooting under those circumstances.

Every man/women who has completed S.F Qualification wears the Patch along with the "Airborne" & "Special Forces" Tab Above the Patch. The Patch is Arrowhead shaped with A vertical sword AND THREE HORIZONTAL LIGHTNING BOLTS.... representing.... one for SEA, one for AIR, & one for LAND... They DO DO MARITIME operations! As far as Shooting at night... IT ISNT HARD AT ALL! S.F & SEAL/S have a piece of kit on their Riffle called a PEQ-15 Infrared Aiming Laser, and Night Vision Goggles. You can only see the Laser through the NVG's, So at night, when its pitch dark, all ya do is drop the Nod's, Point & Aim the Laser attached to the Riffle & engage. It is VERY simple to engage targets/enemy at night with that set up! The DEVGRU Red Squadron That Rescued captain Phillips used this technology. It wasn't difficult at all to make that 100 meter shot in the Ocean, at night..the PEQ &v NVG's do all the Guessing! MARSOC &

Ha! Only one DEVGRU SEAL.ever went to the unit, and thats because the Navy wouldn't let him come back on active duty after 9/11 and go straight back to DEVGRU. He had to pass the OTC just like everybody else, regardless of his prior service. And why in the F would any team guy want to go into the army!. No unit guy is going to go to the Navy. #1 pass BUD/S, then pass SQT, then to a team, eventually you can possibly interview for DEVGRU . If you get picked, then you still need to pass selection there as well. There would never be a complete latteral transfer from service to service.
