Day 32 of EPIC | Obliques & Shoulder Workout with Dumbbells

Shoulders and obliques workout here we come! We will be hitting our entire core abs abs with focus on the obliques followed by a shoulder workout with dumbbells!
You will simply need a pair of dumbbells and a mat for this workout. I am using 2 pairs of dumbbells but this is optional. I am using 10kg for the obliques and the compound shoulder movements and the 6kg for the lateral, frontal, rear delts etc!
The timer will be on for 50 seconds of work and 10 seconds rest for the oblique portion.
Timer will then change to 40 seconds of work and 20 seconds rest for the shoulders.
We perform each movement for 2 sets before moving into next! The burn out of push press at the end is only one set!
PLEASE NOTE: perform windmill either bodyweight or with a very light weight if not used to this movement.

This oblique and shoulder workout is perfect to follow with a cardio session if you feel you have the energy. I will link a low impact cardio workout below!
Remember during the shoulders section, keep knees only slightly bent as apposed to locked legs, core braced. Take it slow and controlled... it makes it more challenging!!😁

I've been following your workouts for a couple months now, taking a break from the body building program I've been in since January, and I can feel so much more strength after following your workouts. Yesterday I looked at my arms and was like "uh, what happened here?!" It is simply mind blowing how my body has changed during these 6 weeks. All these push-ups (ugh ;)) pay off. Looking forward to doing this one later. Thank you!

Hi Caroline...just finished...brilliant as always!! I loved the abs section...really good selection of exercises...still struggle a bit with windmills though!! And the shoulder section was tough but really good!! Your workouts are just so carefully planned, from the brilliant introductory talk, to the choice of exercises and the way you always give us just the right amount of rest to make it hard but doable! Interesting workout. Kneeling Windmill wasn't easy for me. I was touching the floor with my fingers instead to do it with my palm. I´m taking it as homework for the next days. At the Frontal to lateral I was struggling to do it with 2*5Kg, when I saw at the screen. Quality instead of quantity. I dropped down the 5 Kg and picked up the 2* discs (1 Kg + 1.25 Kg) lying on the floor and trained with them. It was more confortable and I enjoyed it. I guess with 4 Kg I would have also been confortable. But I don't have 2* 4Kg.Thanks a lot for this nice workout Caro!

Way to make it work for you! 🥳 I have heard people add wrist weights when they are ‘in between’ kgs (or lbs in my case 😉) maybe you can use that idea... windmills can be tough but so rewarding! Keep at ‘em and they will get easier!! 💕

Good morning Caroline (and everyone!) This is like a marathon - I’ve done a few, though not for some time, but one never forgets the journey. There will be good days and harder days. There will be days that you might feel tired or discouraged or worn down, I remember those times. I think the THINKING about it is the key, its all a mental thing (unless you are genuinely injured or exhausted or sick) - but the times I’ve overcome are because on those days I allow myself a grace period . I tell myself “If I don’t feel like I’m into this in X number of minutes then I’ll gift myself the day off, make it a rest day and come back fresh the next. So much of it is a mental thing - and 99% of the time find that if I put just a little time in I then “warm up” inside and out and the workout rolls on and I’m SO PROUD of myself. In a marathon I recall it can be called “hitting the wall” and its a trick of the mind. I get such confidence from pushing myself, not over pushing, just at least trying... NOBODY can take that away from us! THANK YOU, Caroline, because we all see YOU pushing yourself too! Without even words, with just some nods, smiles, thumbs up AND when YOU have to take a pause, you keep it real and inspire. MANY blessings to you today, your family and everyone here who is following along. WE can ALL DO THIS!

Like many , shoulders are my favorite too! And obliques are much needed ...stubborn 'muffin tops' 😆 Looking forward to this later in the day. Thank you for redesigning our outlook towards exercise and health. I was always an active person, but now even more mindful of my health and nutrition. You taught me to work smart not hard. 🤣 When I saw her weights almost as big as her head I chuckled and was like yeah right! Lol! Some days I can push 20lbs for over head shoulder stuff but NOT TODAY! 😅 They were already fatigued from the weighted ab stuff and plank work! I did use that weight for a few moves but stuck mostly with my 10 & 15s. Way to go and keep pushing!! 💕💪🏻

I don’t know who could give a thumbs down to THAT!? THAT was amazing!! Love love loved the oblique work - all my fav moves but missing the weighted side bends! 😉 I have never done a kneeling windmill... I really enjoyed it! My shoulders were already fatigued by the time we got to shoulders so my weight ranged from 8lb (rear delt flys) to 20lbs (diagonal press & push press) but I used mostly 10 & 15lbs. Always love a good shoulder burn and this did not disappoint!! It was spot on! Thank you Caroline! Way to smash it everyone and have a great Tuesday!! 🇺🇸 ❤️💥👊🏻💪🏻

Oy. so i am a busy working mom and today was so jammed pack with work and dealing with kid stuff. instead of not doing your work out, i just did 5-10 mins whenever i could fit it in. i started at 8:30 a.m. and finished at 5 p.m. wish i could have done it all together for that cardio component, but a woman has to do what a woman has to do. am grateful i could do what i could in bite-size segments between my conference calls and dealing with kid homework/commitments. am sharing this so that others that can't find the time to do the entire workout in 1 piece may consider doing the digestible bits when they have time throughout the day. thanks as always Caroline- my shoulders are killing me-

These classes are tough and hard, but they work, I have lost inches off my waistline and I am picking up heavier weights, these classes are effective, being in this EPIC program has been a blessing for me. Thank You Caroline and as always keep them coming. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😀

Done with 9kg and 5kg dumbbells. I’m definitely seeing results; eight weeks ago I’d probably have done this with 6.5kg and 4kg and found it just as difficult as I did today. Also I looked in a mirror afterwards and was surprised to see how defined my abs have already become! They’re still months/years away from looking anything like Caroline’s but I think it’s a good start! A big thank you to Caroline for helping me make it happen - let’s hope the progress continues!

Slow and control is really more tough than what people expect it to be. Almost seems like an 1 hour workout 🔥. My abs and arms are still hurting (minor) from that emom HIIT .

My tummy is still on fire from day 31 and 30 and this workout just add to it. 🤣 first time using my 10lbs and it hurts especially during the burnout! This feels so good! Love to train my bicep tomorrow! Yes, I am so sore beginning from week 6 and I am thrilled. Thank u for this, Caroline! ❤

Only one more day to move forward to where I left off last time... WOOT! So glad I paused and restarted, I feel stronger, faster, leaner and healthier. Your EPIC is transforming me from the inside out - both physically and mentally. Your workouts cause me to pause and consider this incredible machine that my body is. That is powerful! Having a healthy body to begin with is a privilege, your program pares me down to a person who I am proud to know I’ve earned every inch. Clothes fit better. I have stamina. I have peace. I feel “chiseled” - guess you could say that clothing “drapes” on one’s frame instead of stretches or hangs... its pretty incredible. Hey Caroline Hope you’re having great day I just finished this workout and I enjoyed it so much before this epic program I didn’t pay attention to working out my shoulders after starting the Epic with you I was struggling with shoulders workouts but now I’m so much stronger and I can see huge changes in my shoulders And shoulders day has become my one of my favorite workouts. I used 2x 10.5 Kg dumbbells and 6 kg X2 I love doing the windmills they are smart exercises choice to target obliques and shoulders and back and hamstrings Too . You’re So talented and I hope like many others you come up with another challenge program after finishing this as it seems Gyms gonna be close for longer time “ winter is coming “ and lockdown continues . Thank you for being our friend and PT keep pushing us I appreciate and very grateful for you workouts. ❤️👊🏼

@@matthewalmond4688 thank you Matthew I made a great progress on my shoulders thanks Caroline workouts I used to struggle before in lifting 3 kg X2 for doing some arm workouts coz my shoulders were weak so by consistency and workout hard and dedication to this Program I can stand lift 10.5 at some exercises hopefully I can go heavier soon. Stronger shoulders means stronger arms . I’m about to sleep looking forward for tomorrow’s workout. Good night and enjoy your evening.
