Nice work! I have said this before but your bench press setup is just fantastic. Bench press is the most dangerous exercise in the gym, those safety straps are just great! Thank goodness you are not doing the suicide grip either. Are you getting enough protein at all (yup here I go)? I am not saying to go nuts - just make sure you are getting enough for recovery. You gain strength out of the gym as you eat, rest and recover, if you are feeling demotivation due to joint soreness etc, that sucks but just as importantly your body is maybe saying that it needs more building blocks to fix things up on your rest time? Note - I am not saying to go and get protein powder and all that - just make sure your normal diet has enough protein in it to ensure you will easily recover and move on. That said, please ensure you are getting enough nutrition or that soreness could get worse. Okay, enough mother hen stuff - thank you for the video!

Yes! I eat a pretty high protein diet, but I’m not as consistent as I could be. It’s a good reminder. I think that could be part of it. But I also think (from Dr. Mike) that deloading is a normal part of training and important to sort of consolidate gains, if you will. Today’s lift was the highest total work I’ve done yet in bench (> 20,000 ft lbs), and I feel great after the workout. Anyway, you give good advice so keep it coming!
