Something I'm noticing with this series is how my mind is really racing at the beginning of the daily practice, filled with various stresses and random thoughts. As the lesson goes on, these recede and the the stillness is a reminder that our beings are not our thoughts or our obligations. Good stuff!

This was especially true for me today. When I started, my upstairs neighbours were blasting loud electro music right above my head. I have trouble dealing with repetitive noise (misophonia) so I was laying there, heart racing, struggling to focus on Adriene with the non-stop noise, thinking "yeah okay, there's just no way I'm gonna manage to relax today, might as well give up." But I still gave it a shot and by the end I had actually forgotten about the music, was fully relaxed and it just felt... so freaking good. Good stuff indeed!

practicing with my husband, who is new to yoga, he just derailed our practice at the 9 minute mark by interpreting squeeze your glutes as grab your butt with your hands. i hear a quiet oh thats what she meant and look over just in time to see him stop. we both sat and laughed for 10 minutes and giggled every time she said to squeeze after that. He doesn't do the yoga but he likes to pretend to be your dog, which is very sweet except when he crawls unser me doing a plank haha! But today he randomly decided he wanted to sit outside in the car on our drive alone in the dark for a few minutes afyer we got back from nursery school (it must be a 6 yr old doing scary things to try and be brave thing!) and when I went to get him to come inside he said 'I wasnt scared because I had my breath and I did a yoga breath like you' and that was just wonderful. Thank you so much I love that he is picking up on these things! Xxxxx

Before starting to practice with Adriene, I really hated training of any kind. Everytime I wasn’t able to do an exercise as good as the teacher, I would beat myself up and think that I’m a failure cause I’m weak. Now, because of the practice I listen to my body and if it tells me that something is too hard for me right now I do the easier version or just take breaks and I know that I am strong and nothing is going to change it. Thank you Adriene, because of you I’m starting to really appreciate my body and everything it allows me to do and I don’t think that I’m weak just because I can’t do the plank pose for a whole minute.😄 Loving the slower practice by the way. Sending much love to everyone reading, have a beautiful day!💕

You articulated this so well! I have been fit, I have been unfit, and I always felt insecure. Even when I had washboard abs and toned arms, I was afraid of losing them. When I tried yoga in a studio, I spent all the time looking at the parts of my body that I didn't like in the mirrors, and I felt bad if I wanted to go slower than the other yogis or the teacher, or if I couldn't do a pose well enough. Adriene and home yoga have changed my view on exercise....

The hardest part is getting on the mat, but it can still be difficult during. I’ve had days where I am emotionally weary and not even yoga can dispel my upset. It’s my 40th birthday today and I knew for a while I wouldn’t be celebrating this milestone like I originally hoped to. This week I decided I would celebrate my existence by really observing and enjoying all the small moments I’m usually too busy or stressed to notice or fully appreciate. The birthday messages and call from family and friends, my son’s wobbly baby steps, the snow falling from the giant oak tree in our yard(I observed this during the practice today) all have deeper meaning to me today. Deciding to join this yoga practice was the best gift I could give myself. I’ve tried it in the past and it always felt like a chore and I never kept it up. This year I look forward to it every day and can’t wait to squeeze into my day. I still feel awkward in some poses or find it hard to quiet my mind at times but I have this inner peace and confidence that are getting stronger each day. I love that I get to start a new year and a new decade with you all.

I liked the idea that ‘fire’ does not have to be synonymous with ‘fast’. It’s so true when you think about it because some of the most challenging poses are the ones that rely on static holds and the breath alone to cultivate heat in the body. Such a cool thought. Hope everyone is well! Namaste x

I'm so glad I found you Adriene ❤️ I used to think being "good" at yoga meant being able to hold crow pose or pop into a headstand! After 5+ years with you, I feel like I'm good at yoga because I remember to unclench my jaw when I'm working at my desk, I remember to tuck my pelvis and lengthen my spine when my lower back hurts from standing too long, and I'm moving through a checklist of every part of my body when we're holding plank, rather than waiting for you to take us to the next pose. I still can't hold crow, but I move with more strength, integrity and ease throughout my whole day now and what more could I ask for?!

I am a teenager with a chronic illness that makes it almost impossible for me to do normal daily activities non the less exercise, but I really wanted to try and do some form of physical movement. So even though I can't hold all of the positions the entire time and even though I have to take lots of breaks I want to encourage anyone else struggling through the practice to remember that you are here. You made a choice to better yourself even though it is hard and painful. It's okay if you have to adapt the pose's to work for your body, just to sit on your mat and breath is progress. So just close your eyes and take a breath and remember that you can do this! Namaste! ♥💛

December was the toughest month in 2020; I ended the year feeling anxious and panicked about what 2021 would bring, struggling with heartache and an unhealthy mindset. I have found myself in tears since Day 2 - at the end of each practice, for the relief I feel once I’ve completed a practice, for the release of my pain, tension and worries and being grateful that I can find a moment of peace with people all over the world; that type of connection gives me an overwhelming feeling that maybe 2021 will not be as bad. I restarted this 30 day journey over I skipped some days, skipped some videos, and half-assed other videos. I got to the point where it felt like I lost connection to my commitment to daily practice. I put a sticker in my planner every day that I do yoga but despite doing yoga almost every day in January, I wasn't proud when I saw my planner because I knew I hadn't kept the promise to myself I had wanted to. I want to do this with full commitment. The old Jade would beat herself up over making mistakes the first time and then she would never try again. I've been doing yoga with Adriene for a couple years now and I've learned that yoga never wants you to beat yourself up. All yoga requires of you is that you get on the mat again. It doesn't care how long it's been or where your skill level is. all it cares is that you are there today. Now on Day 4, I feel more connected to this practice and myself than I ever felt before. Thank you for everything you've given me Adriene. You are my rock. Your videos help me find my connection to myself, to my gratitude, to my community, to my body, and most importantly, to my breath.
