I was in a medically induced coma back in April because of an intentional overdose. I was in that coma for nearly 3 weeks. When they pulled out the breathing tube they were literally praying because at that point only God knew if I was going to make it. For some reason I was never offered physical therapy. Then my father committed suicide a little over a month ago. I picked up yoga again shortly after that. Yoga is one of few things that are helping me today. My mother even practices with me sometimes. Thank you, Adriene, for this beautiful practice. I got frustrated at first because my wrists and knees are still weak, but the sweat and shake reminds me that I'm still alive. Even if things are messy and difficult, I'm going to keep moving. I love you and I love everyone in the yoga community. Pain is temporary. 🖤🖤🖤

Luka I’m proud of you for having a forward attitude. Something that really helped me after I lost my son was The Trauma Prayer by Jim Banks. It’s on KZbin with a heart cover or blue jay - they are the same , about 20 min. I would listen to it at bedtime to calm my thoughts and physical body. I believe it will help you too. Hugs to you!

I had a little moment during this one - I've never quite been able to connect to my breath as "spirit", but when you said that the breath could relate or even depict, I suddenly saw my breath as my internal storyteller. As a writer, this really hit home, and got me excited to build the habit of checking in with my breath throughout the day, and catching up on my story.

I was unfocused and antsy, but when she said that, I came back to my breath and felt the perspective switch. This morning as I was practicing I felt myself getting dizzy, several times having my blood pressure drop when I got up from one of the movements. ( I have this sometimes especially if it is hot and I am not getting enough water or salt. ) I realized it was too fiery of a practice for me in that moment, drank some water, and sat down as the video continued. Doing some neck rolls and seated twists I listened as you explained the vinyasa that I was no longer following and I sat in appreciation knowing there was a community of people who also listen and practice along and joined them for the final stretch at the end. For years now I have been picking a new YWA video to practice each day, tuning in and moving. Today I am remembering my love for this virtual yoga community and space. So just wanted to say thank you. Thank you Adriene and this whole community of practice ❤

RESET day 13! I remember last time I did this I rested from about 11:00-15:00 because the first sequence took so much out of me, and although I had to take a rest at 11:00, I paused, recovered and finished the whole video. Hoping that in time I can do the whole video without rest breaks, and that I can do side planks without having to do the variation. Grateful for this video and for a fresh start to this week

Blessed Beloved Beauties! It was nice to return to this practice for the 30 Day Journey of Begin Day - 3. I am making up this practice on Day 5 because I have been fighting a summer cold for two days. Today I feel compelled to return to yoga. This is my 5th practice in a row ( I studied 4 w/ my other instructor). I have two more YWA sessions to get back on track. This was a very sweaty practice. I am sweating out the cold. There was a major shift in energy for the better. Best wishes everyone! Namaste and Ase! 🦋❤❤🦋

I have fallen out of my yoga practice and did a video three days ago that reminded me that I feel my best when I am practicing. I decided that day to practice once a day and follow the December calendar (or a video that makes most sense for me that day if adjustment is needed) so that I can be prepped and in a routine by the time the January calendar begins. Today was a little difficult and wobbly for me which frankly I am not used to! I cannot wait for some of the muscle memory and strength to come back as I get back into the swing of things. Thank you Adriene, your energy never fails to affect me even on days I do now want to be on the mat! xoxo

BEGIN 🌱 | August 3, 2022 | One of my favourites! I'm doing all these morning practices in the afternoon because that just works best with my work schedule, I just love the mid-day pick-me-up they provide. As usual this one did the trick, I love the modified King Cobras, just enough vinyasas to wake us up and the quiet cool down at the end. Enjoyed this one outside on a sunny summer day! 🙏

This was my first day doing this video, and my third or fourth day in a row of doing yoga regularly for the first time in a long time. My sessions are focused on connecting to my heart space usually for emotional release, and for movement in the morning and/or at night. I jumped into this this morning just wanting to kind of move and wake up, it wasn't specifically heart focused so I wasn't expecting it to get intense but it really did! This one was one of the more physically strenuous practices I've done, and I got really tired near the end. I wanted to stop, but something within me told me to keep going because I was connecting to my strength, look how long I was able to hold the weight of my body up.. I always doubt myself, and my strengths, and this was a wonderful, physical way to remind myself that I'm stronger than I feel most of the time. I started crying, and it was very good. Thank you so much for this work you do Adriene. 💛
