As Adriene would say: Consider it already so. If you want to achieve it, you are already half way there. Now just practice. You will love it! I practice kindness and understanding towards myself daily and the transformation is amazing! Especially important when you "screw up". We are all human, we are not perfect. We will feel lazy, vulnerable, angry and many other things. Accept yourself and magic may happen. 😉

It is hard for those of us who have "extra" body that gets in the way at times. I have been doing yoga with Adriene for almost a year now, and I am still amazed or shocked when I notice a part of me looking or feeling slimmer than it once did. I find it helpful to mostly just listen to the video, rather than watching her too intently. If I'm confused on a pose, of course I look, but for the most part I just listen and I find that allows me to focus more on my body and what it can do. Now when I see or feel my belly hanging, I usually hear Adriene's voice in my head, calling it a long beautiful puppy belly. And I find that the more that I love and accept myself as is, the easier it becomes to treat myself with loving kindness and the more my body responds in a positive way. Like fitting in my jeans better! Hang in there sister. Keep showing up and keep loving your beautiful squishy body that carries you through your journey on this earth. 🙏 Namaste and see you all tomorrow!

The downward dog when we lifted our hand was so hard and exactly what I needed! For some reason Day 5 was really challenging for me. I started the video 3 days ago, but couldn't finish it. Then the last 3 days were so hectic and I has so little energy in me that I couldn't bring myself to finish it for the life of me. I don't really have any more energy today than the last couple of days, but I pushed through nonetheless and I must say I am proud of myself even if this wasn't my favourite practice of the challenge even when I did it last year. But I feel better now and more prepared to burn tomorrow ☺ I used to feel like I had to stick to the "Yoga everyday" thing for the entire challenge, because I always feel like I don't stick with things at all if I don't have a strict routine. Kind of like an "all or nothing" mentality, but I think I was just setting myself up for failure that way, because inevitably life will get in the way. Now I am working on the motion of returning to the mat, whenever that may be, rather than having a strict schedule. Of course I hope it will be tomorrow, but if that isn't the case and I need a couple of days to recalibrate that is also fine.

When you created these videos you had no way of knowing that a terror attack/white supremacist insurrection would occur in the U.S. capital today, but your message at the end about showing up to serve was so welcome. I was not able to quiet my mind or feel that transcendent feeling I normally get during these practices--and that is fine! some days are loud and I'd rather be present for them!--but I so appreciated the reminder to take a brief break to move my body and take care of myself so that I can be a better person in the world. If I hadn't committed to this series I'm sure I wouldn't have ended up exercising today. Back to reading news now, but I wanted to thank you for this practice first.

My long distance boyfriend started this a lil late and we've been loving it. I was going to skip tonights but he was the one to remind me how much we've been more relaxed and at ease from it. It's really helped with the stress and has been something to look forward to even on nights we don't feel like doing it, so thank you!
