Im currently getting a degree in aerospace engineering, knowing that my dream is to fly the plane, and not build it. Its hard to get the motivation to continue. Thanks for making your videos. I know after all the engineering strugles, I will have fun with an intergated ATPL course.

I'm sure you'll enjoy flying as well!

I'm literally the same right now... One day we'll be flying :)

Thats a wrong mentality bro, i also opted for flying school but ended up doing a diploma course in aeronautical engineering. I found out the trick is to enjoy the process and the journey, time will come. Plus hey atleast you get to go to school, some bright guy somewhere in a village is actually praying for what you’re looking down upon

Impressive to see you get a 172 up to 10000ft. Can only dream of that in the hot climate I fly in

We can climb even higher on most days!

@@PilotJonathan a story from my training, i was doing circuits at a sea level aerodrome during summer, my pa28 was struggling to get to 500 ft per minute climb on takeoff
@PilotJonathan2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I've had that on the Tecnams as well, the climb perfomance on hot days isn't great

I noticed you landed in the evening at your initial departure point, did you have, ( not sure it's described like this ) your night instrument rating already ?

Nice video!. I have a question that in the official EASA ATPL theoretical exams, are there MCQ questions mostly?
@PilotJonathan2 жыл бұрын
If you're talking about multiple choice, then for us yes - but this was the 2016 syllabus, I don't know about the new 2020 one
@flurinschwerzmann60292 жыл бұрын
If I see that correctly - are you flying with the backup mode of the G1000 enabled? If so - why?
@PilotJonathan2 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is our SOP - the reason is that we mainly train raw data flying and don't use the map on the MFD except for RNAV/RNP operations, so it makes sense to just mirror the PFD on the MFD for the FI as well

Not sure where you are from, but is it a requirement to wear epaulets and a tie as a student? Looks goofy when your instructor is just in a t-shirt!
@PilotJonathan2 жыл бұрын
We have some uniform requirements - but for flights we can also wear a branded polo instead of shirt & tie, I usually switch between them, you can see it on some of my other videos! But I paid for the uniform, so might as well use it 😂
@nn-lh8he2 жыл бұрын
@@PilotJonathan Ah ok, at my flight school only the instructors have to wear polos and no dress code for students, was a little confused!
@PilotJonathan2 жыл бұрын
It's fairly common to have uniforms for students here in Europe as well!
@glennwatson2 жыл бұрын
So much pushing of aircraft. Is that common in Spain?
@PilotJonathan2 жыл бұрын
It's not uncommon at least, at BAA we push everything apart from the MEP by hand 😂

Jonathan, I want to be a Pilot. Would you tell me that a Flight School or University is a good study the Pilot Program. Thanks
@PilotJonathan Жыл бұрын
There's lots of factors that influence the choice of what program to apply to - my advice is do your research about lots of different schools, ask students about their experience and decide based on what you think suits your needs best!
@tomarmstrong12818 ай бұрын
My IFR students would have been required to have flown much more of that flight under the hood. Certainly the intercepts and approaches to minimums.
@PilotJonathan8 ай бұрын
Typically in Europe the hood is only used for basic initial training - I don't know anyone that used it on a cross country flight, we're still flying down to minimums on the instruments
@tomarmstrong12818 ай бұрын
@@PilotJonathan As an EASA FAAFI/FECPL, I have never encountered a syllabus which calls for extended IFR extended cross-country flights. The principal value of IFR training is to achieve competency in the procedural aspects, principally associated with departures, holding and approaches-just my observations. Good luck with your career.
