It just occurred to me that most of the knives in the flat I’m currently living in are rather dull. A couple of years ago, I attempted to chop some carrots using the large chef’s knife. However, the blade was so blunt that I had to press down on the back of the knife with my hand to apply enough force. Once I’d finished, I realised I had been using the knife the wrong way around the entire time. I might as well have used an onion to cut the carrots.

Tbh this one wasn’t that bad. She made a smothered chicken, if she cooked the chicken in the oven and put the sauce ontop it wouldn’t have like disappeared and turned to grease lol 🤣

Chicken is most definitely tricky to cook in a pan but I’ve learnt that if you put a tiny bit of water in the pan it helps actually cook the chicken evenly so the oil doesn’t burn and the chicken doesn’t burn. I know it sounds weird but it works. Just don’t add a lot of water but little bits each time the water evaporates until the chicken is cooked. I do like the oven more though. The one things I will say is brown the meat with your seasoning on it so the seasoning is cooked into the chicken before adding water. You don’t want to have to add more seasoning. Also don’t add a lot of oil you only need enough to coat the pan! Also side note the water also helps keep the chicken moist so it doesn’t become stringy and dry. Make sure to check if your chicken is cooked through or not by either cutting it, or using a thermometer to check temp. If your chicken is glistening and white it is PERFECT! I hate burnt, undercooked (even steak), dry, and bland meat so I am very OCD about how I cook stuff I even ask my boyfriend if he sees any pink in the chicken because I am so worried and paranoid that I see pink when it’s really not there (he is a great cook and has taught me a lot!)
