The normal gameplay mode has no time limit at all and is completely free-roaming. You will also be allowed to save progress anywhere and not just limited to bathrooms or case completion. As some have mentioned below DR3 will include a "Nightmare Mode" for those who prefer the traditional time limit and save options...

For those asking: In an interview with UK Official Xbox Magazine, Capcom Vancouver had this to say: "It's definitely not a timed-exclusive game. It's a Xbox One game." So they have shot down any chance of a port. But out of curiosity, why does this surprise anyone? Of all the Dead Rising games, only Dead Rising 2 and 2: Off the record were multi-plat. Dead Rising 1, Case Zero and Case West were Xbox 360 exclusives.

And I love the fact that the standard version of the story doesn't have the time limit factor. That and the save system were soooo annoying in the other two DRs. We can actually explore the world this time around without looking at your watch every 10 seconds. But I will definitely try the Nightmare mode after I beat it for a good challenge.

Actually it is still there. There are two confirmed modes. The standard mode will consist of 6 days, giving more freedom and then there's nightmare mode which is 3 days like the past two games. No mentions of a free-roam mode yet.

Played this at the Xbox One Tour, loved the demo. Along with Forza 5, Killer Instinct and Battlefield 4 this is one of my day one buys. Ryse: Son of Rome was a surprise, found it really fun.

100% agreed. Microsoft's initial plan had some pretty awesome things for the future but they executed it poorly. They need to ease gamers into a system rather than putting it all on the table at once because many were not ready for those changes. But hopefully they will slowly and more thoughtfully nudge those features back in that truly made the Xbox One unique.

Call Of Duty has barely changed since COD4 so i can see your point with that, But Killzone Shadow Fall is clearly way different than the Killzones that came before. Art Style, Mechanics, 30FPS to 60FPS tighter controls.

I still don't understand why Capcom didn't take this approach when the game shown for the first time. That chasing the Call of Duty crowd first impression at E3 has already done a lot of damage to this game's reputation. This is evident with the title of this video.

I like the serious tone the game goes for. If anything the series one big weakness is how goofy some of the characters can get. It's so out of place and unnecessary, I mean don't get me wrong the goofy and silly things that happen and that rising 12 are appreciated in the silly things you can do are nice but what the series was missing was a very grounded very realistic approach, and Dead Rising 3 nails it.

In what ways? The PC still dominates spec wise and the exclusives can go more in depth with the game because there is less restrictions. Sure the consoles are catching up, but the PC is CONSTANTLY improving.

In Deadrising 2, I put on a plaid tie-shirt and short shorts on chuck along with a little pink circular hat. To top it off, I wore one of those nose-mustache toy glasses, making me the most threatening man in the history of the world. :3

The only thing that I see similar to Dead Island is the combat mechanics but combat isn't really the main focus anyway. I'd have much more fun enjoying the parkour elements and being stealthy at night. Only using combat when needed.

Looks like Sony's really pushing on the multiplayer side though for the next gen with ftp multiplayer titles such as the behemoth Planetside 2, warframe, war thunder, Blacklight retribution and DC universe online. It'll be interesting to see how Microsoft will answer to that.

Agreed. The Xbox One wasn't supposed to be what it has now been reduced to; an alternative to the PS4. The community were just scared by what Microsoft had laid out for them, and weren't willing to take a risk of seeing the outcome. The solution would've been simple; if you don't like what you see, then don't buy an Xbox One. But the community insisted that Microsoft change these initial policies, and turn the Xbox One into something it wasn't trying to be. Microsoft didn't fuck up here...

I know what 30 FPS looks like. i played BF3 on PC then console and can see a huge difference, for multiplayer having 60 FPS is essential to doing good, but for singleplayer i just crank the settings to ultra and accept 30 FPS just for more detail. P.S even on PC DR gets frame drops i just can't see them because my monitor is 60Hz and the frame drops never go below 60 just from like 150 to 140 when i look and see i whole horde of zombies then the frames go up once the zombies are rendered

The only thing you can argue and win is specs :P When it comes to games well, there are no exclusives at all except for a few RTS games and MMO games. But now that the next-gen consoles are coming out those MMO games aren't exclusive to PC anymore, like Planetside 2, World of Tanks, Diablo, etc. I know there's a lot more, I just can't name em' :P

The game play is like asandbox mode first playthrough no limits on time and story play play at your own pace. Complete the game you unlock the time limit version as a challenge mode like the classic 2 games time limited missions

I played about half of dr1 but got sick of it : / but I hate time limits when I don't know how to play a game. I will be buying dr3 b/c you can turn it off or on. allowing me to learn the game and then go through it with a timer and feeling more comfortable.

Well that is part of the game. Its isnt suppose to be serious yes the tone of game would seem to be serious but the actual game is about laughs and having fun with goofy stuff. If it was serious then it wouldnt have add of the stuff you can change into. If you want a serious zombie game, there is Dead Island and Dead Space.

Dead Rising was the reason I bought the Xbox 360; I may have to consider this one again. But when I switched to PS3 after the lame dashboard support, it was pretty hard to come back to Xbox. Oh well; got both systems pre-ordered ._.

You need to actually research the crap you say. It is confirmed that KZ is struggling with frame rate issues. They have yet to reach 30 FPS. at E3 they averaged 26 FPS. then they added textures to the models and at gamecom averaged 23 FPS. online multiplayer yes, does get close to 60 FPS, but it also runs at 720p.
