Happy Easter!!! It's our first Easter in Germany together and due to the current situation we decided to make the most of it! We had a Easter Egg Hunt with different candy and chocolate we bought here in Germany! We are never too old to have fun!! What are you doing during this holiday? 💜

Yes, we definitely do Easter egg hunts here in the U.S. It's usually families for their own children (colored hard-boiled eggs, plus a basket of goodies), though some churches hold them for the children in the parish. There have been public Easter egg hunts, most notably the ones usually held at the White House, but I trust that's been put on hold this year, for obvious reasons. A blessed Easter to you all!!

When I was growing up in Wisconsin we always had an egg hunt w/ all the cousins, but we hunted 4 actual hard boiled eggs that we all dyed the day b4 as a fun family activity. N since we were using real eggs they were always outside. (There r always unfound eggs.) All of our candy n chocolates - including a 16oz solid chocolate bunny - were in our Easter baskets which we would receive from our parents after church n b4 the egg hunt.

That meal sounds delicious ! Over here it's usually either; - sandwiches with homemade egg salad (hardboiled eggs mashed with mayonaise and mustard and some chives or parsley) - asparagus with hardboiled eggs crumbled on top and hollandaise sauce or butter sauce; _à la flamande_ (flemish style) - Or we also top the asparagus with grey prawns (shrimp) because that's also abundantly found in our north sea. (The tiniest shrimp, very flavorful) and topped them off with good olive oil and breadcrumbs. But we also make chicken pot pie, or lamb with mashed potatoes and peas.

Eastern egg hunt...In my youth I loved it. I stand up so really early, that the whole family still slept. And I searched for all hidden goodies. I kept it in my mind and go to bed again. After final raising up we kids began with searching. Due to my „presearch“ I found the most😂 I don’t like the normal Nougat/Chocolate mixture or flavour. Normal chocolate bunnies/eggs are ok. Some mixtures with crispy flakes are as well. But my absolute favourite is a biiiig Marzipan egg.

@bartolo4984 жыл бұрын
With the Fondant-Spiegeleier I am somewhat surprised that they still exist. I think I used to like them as a kid in the 1980s but they are awfully sweet. There were also similar looking ones made from a gelee-like stuff (like very soft gummybear material) and additionally covered with sugar. Also colorful small eggs that were basically pure sugar. The chocolate variety was far less back then and the bunnies often of poor quality chocolate, so I never liked them. But a great novelty? (I think) were larger plastic eggs by Ferrero that were filled with lots of small eggs (I think of the type which is now called "kinder schokonbons". And of course one also got colored hard-boiled eggs, not only candy! One was eating egg-sandwiches for days afterwards...

At 3:23 Deana says, "Are they in eggs" and I knew she'd have to explain the concept to Phil. Both easter egg hunts I've attended in Germany have had actual hard-boiled eggs (colored) and the kids don't seem to mind. What do they do with them? Give them to their parents? Here, have some hard-boiled eggs. Where's my candy? When I'm home for Easter I'm in charge of hiding the (plastic, candy-filled) eggs and am required to make a list of all the locations because some have only turned up after several months. We're geocachers so we're evil about our hides: )

Hihi. Almost. We don't use Fräulein anymore for adult women. Only for disciplining girls in a lighthearted way. With a humorous wink. But if you use these German words you need to begin them with a capital letter: Herr und Frau / Fräulein.
@marrykurie484 жыл бұрын
As Deana is a married woman you should use Frau instead of Fräulein. But Fräulein is outdated in Germany. And you should use the last name with Herr and Frau. It's uncommon to use Herr Phil and Frau Deana. Use the last name (family name) instead. I don't know Deana and Phil's one though ;-P Happy easter.
