Blade jigs with gold blades are my first choice along with white blue glitter skirts. If you are fishing Rip-rap banks or areas of sparse weeds try a Mann’s Baby 1-Minus, they are excellent. The larger size is not as effective as the Baby is, at least for me. White chartreuse or pearl and chartreuse are good and so are fire tiger or bluegill patterns. They come in a lot of colors and have square bill models too. They are also made in the USA at least they ones I have are. I believe they work so well because they rattle much like lipless crankbaits. They are another lure you can’t fish too fast as well and work better with 12-pound monofilament or fluorocarbon.

Yes! Love the baby 1-Minus! Anything Mann's takes me back to the old days. I did get some of the 1-minus and also don't have any luck compared to the baby version. I need to pick up some more!

Debo, how many rods are you taking to these spots, and how quickly are you changing lure presentation after no getting bites while fishing the same area? Thank you.
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
I take 2-5 rods depending on the spot. I generally start with a moving bait to cover water. I keep a frog or other topwater to get shade pockets or moss patches. I keep a t-rig or jig to pitch at isolated cover. Then sometimes I have a spare rod or two for something else. Maybe a ned or a different type of moving bait. Time at a spot really depends. If I really think it will produce, I spend more time there.
@dizzlesfeeshin89665 жыл бұрын
Not trying to speak for Debo, but I think this day we had 20ish rods between the two of us. I mean his are defective with the handle on the right side.... Even if I’m going out for #anhourtofish I’ll take 5. One of the first times out we moved spots and left my lipless set up in the truck.... Debo didn’t. Worst case you carry a few rods and never use them, the more options the less time wasted putting something different on.
@timperry60955 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen a lot of folks rig their trailer upside down to get the paddle tail to get better activation from the movement of the chatterbait. Did it make any difference in your opinion?

Timothy Perry I do that religiously with chatters, seems to flow/vibrate at a better matched speed.

Then when the second one grabbed my frog a little while later I set the hook and my reel just birds nested everywhere, had to cut line and re spool the whole thing... 🤯 What would have caused that?
@DEBOSFishing5 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a dirty anti-reverse bearing. If you take a heavier lure and bounce your lure, does it sometimes let line out like the thumb bar is pressed down...but it's actually engaged?

One thing that sucks about fishing from the bank. When you snag you dont have a lot of options to come loose. Bladed jig has been the ticket for me this Summer. Specifically, the JackHammer with a Rage Menace trailer. The JH just out catches all other BJ's IMO. Ive been testing a handful all Summer. JH just always wins the day 3 to 1 easy. Oh my Lordy, I remember that day, you kept saying things that just so happen didn’t show up..... then I out top water you and none of that shows up! Who’s the bully NOW debo? Kidding brother! You have talked about it before, I didn’t make changes and kept using what I thought should have worked... Then on that second to last point I kinda melted down, lost 5ish jigs, then later later in the day my line was twisted around the pole when I went to cast and my chatter flew ohh and I was very close to a Mr. P melt down... Either way it was a great day of fishing, soon enough fall will be here and it will be my turn again! Can’t wait for the next outing!

Oh man, that explains a lot of why I thought you were getting Ranfrizzled. I have those days too where if I don't just pack up and leave, my rod will end up halfway across the pond or tied in a bow around a tree. When it's hot and steamy out and everything just seems to go wrong is when it gets to me the most. Turns a peaceful fishing trip to have fun into a struggle to maintain sanity and keep the lid on the meltdown about to happen. Always good to see you in Debo's vids Randy! Best of luck on your next trip, brother.

LeatherNeck 1833 great words, heat doesn’t normally bug me but that day, combine it with Debo mopping the floor with me. At one point in time I sat everything down and sat on a bench and looked at the lake
@LeatherNeck18335 жыл бұрын
@@dizzlesfeeshin8966 I do that sometimes too. I'll look out at the water and wonder if the fish have conspired against me or if I really do suck at fishing. I'll often use that "time-out" to retie leaders and rerig lures; it gives me something to get my mind off being mad. Lol, this is also the time that I realize that I also suck at tieing knots when flustered. 😕

LeatherNeck 1833 that day I sat and wondered if any of those big girls I hooked up with in the past even remember me... I took them out, then let them go so they can grow.... ps none of them have called me back
