Considering the parents killed Freddy and their kids have all been telling them about the very same man with the exact same features (sweater, glove, hat, etc.) in their dreams, and the fact that kids are probably dropping like flies on the daily (unless the films are hinting that Freddy takes a massive break inbetween films, and the only times he kills are during the movies), you'd think the parents would be more concerned.

Actually during that time in medical history they had something called Candystripers. (They changed bedpans did housekeeping, and other light hospital work) and they were identified by the candy cane style red and white striped uniforms. No medical school or training was needed. (Which is what Alices friend in the hospital is.) Candystripers were done away with at some point in the 90s due to lawsuits and the spread of disease due to undertrained staff. Candystripers were replaced with CNAs (certified nurses assistants) and LPNs depending on the state you are in. These require special education and ppe training.

Unlike the last film though, I honestly didn't care what happened to the new characters. The ending was a bit too comic book for it's own good and the guy playing Mark wasn't very good at controlling his over acting. Still, not the worst. That's the next film.

1:You mentioned continuity. One of the errors in the category, would be when Alice has the Airline Tickets in her hand, and then, seconds later, Dan announces that he got the Airline Tickets, and gives them to her. 2: Freddy's over-long left arm...now on that one, I'm thinking that, since this is the Re-Birth of Freddy Krueger, this might be a subtle way to pay homage to the first Nightmare On Elm Street movie, when Freddy is introduced to the viewing World, complete with over-long arms in that movie, too. Strangely enough, though, only the left arm is over-long in NOES 5: The Dream Child. Kinda weird, but...it is what it is. 3:When we see Alice come out of the nightmare, after having been re-introduced to Freddy, she doesn't go to her home, but rather to her job. You said "Her place of occupancy, instead of her place of work. There's a difference. 4: I'm with you on Mark's death scene. It has to be the absolute lamest death that I've ever seen in a Horror Movie. Period! 5:Last point-This movie wasn't necessarily edited for time. It was edited for Graphic Content... especially Dan's and Greta's respective death scenes. The unedited death scenes for Dan's death showed the cables doing the old slide job, in a major way, up underneath Dan's "Skin", which I imagine was definitely a prosthetic skin layer. Still, it even made me squirm, and that's kinda hard to do, being that I've been watching Horror Movies since 1982. (I started with the movie Creepshow, by the way). The editing process on Dan's death alone took quite awhile, and they had to go back to the MPAA something like a dozen times, before the rating could be lowered from an adult rating, down to an R rating. Same thing (Sort of) with Greta's death scenes. It, too, had to be heavily edited. Have a great day, and, as the creepy old guy from the movie Creepshow 2 used to say: "Try to stay scared"!!! Mwahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!

Well if you think about it he's still playing off of Alice's Daydreams as well. While hiding in Jacob subconscious suggesting that the power the pull people into dreams is both hereditary and transferable. Basically he's playing two fields being the wise man and the shadow for the boy Jacob. Essentially allowing him to have full reign as the pseudo conscious mind. which lead to Jacob becoming autonomous within Alice's subconscious. because the last basic aspect is the holy mother and she's only one that can acknowledge his existence that's a state. while maintaining his status as the shadow within Alice's subconscious. Alice feared his return and regressed mature version of her previous state leading to him having a tiny bit of leeway within her subconscious mind. Jung psychology explains it in a less stupid way. With the whole Universal subconscious Theory and the resulting archetypes within personality. Four main archetypes the Shadow, the wise old man, the child and the holy mother The Shadow burned Freddy Krueger the wise old man Freddy's fathers and Jacob's dad, the child baby Freddy and Jacob, the holy mother Amanda and Alice

I'm sort of torn between how I feel on this one... On the one hand, I actually think that of the Nightmare Franchise, it's actually one of the more underrated ones, and probably one of the better ones. It has a unique idea for how Freddy is brought back and does something different with it as a whole. Plus it deviates away from "tradition" by allowing Alice to survive a SECOND encounter with Freddy instead of replacing her with a new female lead. On the other hand, the kills in this movie are...odd... Needless to say they are indeed creative...but...they tend to be a bit schitzophrenic. They range from being Disturbing - like Dan's death, Cringe-Worthy in Greta's Death, to just plain silly in Mark's death. Considering how the previous two's deaths were so violent and graphic, the idea of Mark's being so "watered-down" was just silly. The comic-book angle was interesting, but the actual death itself was just ridiculous.

It really disappoints me that we had two whole movies that could've explored the daydreaming thing regarding Freddy, but neither of them did. Imagine how badass that could've been. The kids would think that staying awake would keep them safe, only to find out that they're still fair game because Freddy can use the daydreams to manifest. Alice would spend the whole movie trying to figure out what's real and what isn't.
@GlitchyHalo Жыл бұрын
Feels like some of the different movies shows the type of dreams Freddy can manifest. He can manifest nightmares obviously and can also turn normal dreams into nightmares 2,3, and 4 show that he can hide in the sex drive and manifest in wet dreams (Jesses repressed homosexuality and Joey’s wet dreams of the nurse and model) And 4 and 5 shows that he can manifest in daydreams and even an unborn baby’s dreams

Agreed! By this point, Freddy was mixing in way too many corny one-liners with the kills, and that cheapens the movie. It takes it from something to be dreaded, all the way down to being a Corn-Fest.....with some kills thrown in, for good measure. Things only got worse, too. Freddy's Dead:The Final Nightmare? Please! It's all over the place...and it's a real snooze-fest, as well! Freddy Vs. Jason (2003) should've been named Jason Vs. Freddy! Jason mops the floor with Freddy in the kill count! Jason gets so many victims, that I lost count, whereas Freddy, with all the talking that he does, gets...... One victim. One! As any Lawyer would say:I rest my case.

So the main girl in this movie is that girl from the DS9 episode where she needed a rascal scooter to get around due to their home world having lighter gravity. Hm, that's pretty cool.

Since I was a kid I've always hated Yvonne and wanted her in the body count! The fact she lives is the worst part of the movie!

The kid being sucked into the comic would have been a perfect time to play that song *Take on me. Taaaake meeee on!*

My favorite part of this movie is the scene inside the pick up truck.

since there are more Friday the 13th movies then elm street, I wonder how he's going to go about it...also if he's doing the weird remakes they made in 2009 and 2010. would he do all of them, THEN the Freddy vs Jason movie?

2 reviews a week shows you missed your calling with Cannon Films.

Ah just had a thought about Dan's death. Freddy's trying his hand at proving he makes better Cenobytes than Pinhead, lol.
