I looove singles. I hope they come back in trend like they used to be back in the day so brands start coming out with them more. Now they're either hard to get, expensive or old subpar formulas. There's very few to choose from.

I purchased the Flower Beauty Jungle Lights palette on your recommendation, and I absolutely love it! Have you tried layering the shades? That's become one of my favorite ways to wear it. The red and green mix to make a bronze, the green and gold mix to a golden olive, the green and pink mix to a warm taupe, and the gold and pink make a really great warm pink. I highly recommend you try mixing them if you want to ignite a love for the other shades, because I found myself exclusively reaching for the pink until I tried that!

Lmao that's what I thought would be happening. I never liked the idea of those organizers with little acrylic drawers. I like my makeup closed off in a traditional drawer not looking all cluttered and being exposed to sunlight in some monstrosity on top of my desk 🤷‍♀️. But to each their own, so many people love them.

Love your nails!! I wish I could wear fake nails but I’m a respiratory therapist they would pop right off at work lol. I’m an eyeshadow junkie I can’t declutter my collection, I work too hard for it and I don’t receive any PR. I’ve got about 60 palettes and 300 single shadows. It does get overwhelming at times, and lately the winter blues has made me lazy with my makeup lol.

You expressed my thoughts on the Nabla Nude Cutie Palette perfectly. I don’t think the cream to powder shadows in that palette have as elegant a formula as, say the Natasha Denona Metropolis does. I honestly thought my palette was old when I first got it because those shadows were so dry and crumbly to the touch. And while yes you can warm them up, it just doesn’t translate on the eye. I was on the fence about decluttering mine but you’ve helped me decide to go ahead and do it.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I wanted to love it so much, I think I've been hanging on to it because I felt like it was user error or it was my fault for "forgetting" to use the palette.

Just a tip, you can use a knife to cut off the used part of a lipstick and I also believe it’s okay to dip them in a specific alcohol. The only tips I have for keeping glosses sanitary is to switch on the back of your hand (after sanitizing) and apply with a lip brush. The stuff in the bottle will stay clean that way. The same tip may be used for liquid lipsticks.

Yes, when I worked in the field of cosmetics several years ago, we removed a couple of layers from lipstick bullets using rubbing alcohol on a tissue before letting customers use them.

Those nails really are nice! I love how tidy your palette collection is. Do you ever feel tempted by new palette releases at all these days? I'm knocking on 20 palettes right now and I feel overwhelmed (and I have a healthy collection of singles right now too!) - so your small but robust collection is something I aspire to one day. Unfortunately none of my friends really wear makeup so I always feel guilty about throwing things in the bin and they're too used to be donatable. I think a no-buy year is in my future in 2021 :)

I am curious. What makes a product worth it to you? I’ve come to realize that some of the products I own that are worth it to me are well performing and/or have positive feelings connected to them in one way or another. As an example, I own a beautiful Estee Lauder blush that I got when I returned a gift I was given at Sephora from the same counter, but because the sales ladies pretty much forced me to get something from there I don’t use it as often as it deserves.

Before I watch : I usually don’t declutter my collection every year because I don’t buy just to buy and I always try to learn how to love and wear my products & work with them even if they don’t apply very well , *I don’t let any formula beats me* lol 😂 2019 & this year I went almost minimal with my makeup wearing ( I still go for the colors & the drama looks ) but I’m a home body & I used to wear makeup just for fun even when I’m home in my pjs & I think I let people get into me , so I just wore it when “ I go out “ lol 😝 Lately tho I kept moving away from my dramatic looks , I keep wear one & done type of shadows & go to the same tones aka “neutrals” who am l ? I keep telling myself: it’s just a phase but I keep feeling that is not ! I’m in the middle of rearranging my bedroom & upgrading it , by that I mean ( almost going minimalist)!!! I’m used to a capsule wardrobe now for a year & I keep enjoying that & feeling overwhelmed by my makeup collection compared to the shift of my makeup style ! I enjoy singles more & more than a pre made palette & I have overlapping shades & I own kaleidos + colourpop + melt palettes & these give a lot of variety & I keep thinking of buying more of these kind of palettes to get more variety such as Viseart, Natasha Denona & more melt ! And build a lethal palette too 😂💔 I keep wanting to declutter but still I want to add more & I want to have a bigger kind of collection 😂 #sendhelp for real lol 😂 Me after watching: did I have a decision? The answer is : I’ll try to get 3 or 5 products out of my collection & down size my singles collection too ! I’m gonna do it

I made capsule wardrobes with my makeup if that makes any sense. When I bought a palette it was usually a 6 pan capsule monochromatic palette or a specific color family. I use these smaller palettes as singles. Some are magnetic so they actually can be removed & used as singles, I prefer those. Then I stopped buying palettes altogether & started adding singles. Special shades like duochromes or multichromes or deep rich colorful mattes from indie brands. Now I just mix & match from what I have & if I get bored I can add ONE new shade, or maybe 2 if I'm experimenting with a new color combination. Anyway, this approach might work for you too. You can stay minimalist but still have variety. Think of your makeup like your clothes, & build your makeup wardrobe for who you are now.

Yesterday it come to me that I can depot all my palettes , add megnetic stickers to the back , add megnetic sheet in the actual cardboard packaging of the palette to keep using it without buying an empty megnetic palette! Is that making sense!? That way I feel I could get more use of my palettes because they will be an actual singles ! I still mix palettes & I don't have a problem with that until recently lol 😂 I want more tiny palettes or color story to focus on ! Thank you for sharing your idea 💜💫💫💫

I am so minimalistic with eyeshadow but I'm inspired to do custom pallettes and expand because im a creative. I have one roen pallettes, 1 single roen shadow, and then one 100% pure shadow, and 5 colour pop singles and I feel like I have too much! i believe the nabla shade is what they call a latex matte, i don't think it went bad, it's just the formula that is a bit strange. i have it in another palette and it feels weird when you start applying, but blends out amazingly after a few seconds of skin contact

I have the Nabla cutie palette in Platinum. I would not describe it as an everyday palette. I do like it. I love their new Side by Side Nude palette more, though. That palette suits my lifestyle better.

Your collection is really pared down, especially the eyeshadow & liners. And it's nice to see someone else who doesn't own like 15 foundations for every possible shade of faded step of self tanner or no-makeup makeup days etc. I don't tan so I stay the same shade year round & only need one foundation lol. And I only own 3 lipsticks because I'm not a lipstick person (they're all nudes) but I have probably 10 glosses. I like minis & buy the sets. I need to do a ruthless declutter of my palettes, especially since many of them I bought in 2018 & I'm just not using them. They look like new. It's time to let them go...

Hi! The cutie palette Matteo have a special formula called "leather matte" they did not go bad. It's the way they are😊. There are videos with the explanation on how to use it. I'm not a huge fan of the formula, but or can be worked out.I love that palette because it's perfect for trips, ine swipe in the lid and you are good to go thanks to the three shimmers.

I just watched your videos on doing a no buy. I would love to declutter but there are a lot of palettes that i only use one to 5 good shades.. Would you reccomend depotting in order to keep those and doing a custom palette?
