Imma go ahead and say, for people with anxiety, meditation is so very healthy for both mind and body. Often times i find myself beating myself up when I look in the mirror or in my head when I'm at social outings. Meditation allows the mind to release and relax helping you to separate yourself from stressful thoughts and view them clearly. This meditation was so peaceful and I plan on coming back here again and again.
@Ruby-yn5fp Жыл бұрын
i guess there are two things to do to stop overthinking: distraction with something so hard that you cant focus on the overthinking (difficult multiplication, singing a song, saying the alphabet backwards), or meditation. Nothing else works because the first thing i try to do is rationalize with myself. but you can't beat the monkey mind. it's too strong.

@@jamarmartin884 I think it's because you're trying too hard to focus, rather than just breathing and making sure u don't "unfocus" meaning that your mind doesn't drift away. I used to keep saying '"breath in, pause pause pause pause pause, breath out, pause pause pause pause pause" rather than just doing the exercise and getting my focus back on the breathing when it drifts away. Doing this I started to realise how shallow my natural breathing is. This made me wonder: does anyone else get more anxious (and even a bit desperate) when doing meditations that require you to focus on your breath? I always get the feeling that I'm suffocating, my heart starts pounding and I start to feel really eager to just stop. I don't know if it's related to the shallow breath thing or if it's my mind playing tricks on me whenever I try to be still, I just know it's absolutely horrid.

I'm so sorry for you! Meditation should actually calm you down, I think you should slow it down a little and don't take this deep breaths when they tell you to do in the meditation - it would maybe help you when you take in the next meditation only one deep breath and as often you practise you can do more breaths when you feel comfortable and your body geta used to it! Also you can do 'meditation travels' where you just have to listen and feel relaxed, there are no breath technices required :)
@marishkaaable4 жыл бұрын
Meditation, especially such that's supposed to make you feel "calm" and "still" just makes me more jittery and annoyed. So I see how it can make someone anxious :( I don't know how people actually get relaxed with it, it's quite an unpleasant experience
@روائعالدراماالسوريةالجديد4 жыл бұрын
Hello ! this is because your missing the most important concept in meditation: Do not judge!. Focus on what the speaker says without judging, so in your case, you are judging your breath: My breath is shallow, im suffocating, etc. Just feel the breath as it is. One more thing is that the natural breath is shallow. If you do not force your breath, it is very natural to be shallow! :)
@ilmatt004 жыл бұрын
Abbabb12 Abb I second that! I know my breathing is not that great , and I have gone down that path of feeling anxious because of my breath. One thing that has helped me is just reminding myself that I am surrendering to the experience, regardless of what I think of it

I prefer the guidance here because the pauses are not so long and I don't have time to get into some of my super fantasies or reviewing the day's most interesting conversations. His voice is calming but not in an artificial way, but rather in a straight forward, realistic way of speaking. He is vocabulary is clear and simple too which I like. Meditation is simple (in theory) but very difficult to sustain and you have to hard work to improve your meditation.

Its amazing how much one can learn with this 10 minutes repeated everyday. Today, I learn when I release focus at the end of the session, my mind rushes back to planning in my head to do this and that, then I realized how I'm constantly thinking about planning or doing something in the future, drifting me away present moment. This means im comstantly in the survival mode rather than relaxed. Now I know why we need to practice meditation consistently to get our minds use to noticing this drift so we can bring it back to present anytime in the day. Personally, I find Declutter The Mind to be the best so far.

Every time my brain started to wander he somehow sensed it and reminded me to return my focus to my breathing. I come from a very mentally abusive home that constantly fueled me with anger. Listening to the speaker helped me listen to not only my breathing but the pain within me and helped me focus on just that so I could isolate it and then neutralize it. That was AWESOME! Once you said “let the mind do what it wants” I was in thoughtless meditation from just relaxing after so much focus. Well done!

Wow, my head feels clear. By the time he said NOT to focus, I was fully focused. Amazing!

Can you please tell the long term effects you experienced
@Smile3faceComics4 жыл бұрын
@@shivanktomer361 My long term effects include a full immersion of the self in reality, a loss and detachment to re-occurring thoughts, a heightened sense of awareness, lower stress levels, better nightly sleep, lucid dreaming, healthier eating habits to include cutting down on sugar and elimination of alcohol resulting in weight loss, better listening skills and overall deeper and more fulfilling relationships.

When he said it's okay if your thoughts are distracting i recognised actually my thoughts were wandering but the way he realised the attention span and said that dont judge as judging is also thinking why am I not able to do it properly and rather than doing that focus on what is controllable of what is in your hand that you should bring your focus back on breathing Amazing experience it was!!!
