i spent so many hours in the control room wedging the warthog through places bungie did not intend you to keep it past, before i found that you could rocket that one banshee off the platform and skip 50% of the rest of the level.

@@MarkoDash My best Friend and I would Play through on legendary when we were like 12-13 and often right before we got to the control room we would turn on one another and just use up all the ammunition in the level killing each other over and over, with the survivor eventually having only the ammo they could scrounge from the other players corpse, we'd do this for hours... ahh good times.

Things to know about Halo 1: 1. Pistol, Plasma Pistol, Sniper Rifle, and Shotgun are OP 2. Movement is wonky 3. Music is good 4. Missions are long and tedious 5. Elites and Jackals are nasty especially on Legendary 6. Hunters are pathetic 7. And the story is awesome

@@liamnacinovich8232 These aren't the original graphics, this is the PC port which ruined many of the textures in the game including the translucent effects unfortunately. The anniversary edition is the superior way to experience the game (unless playing on an original Xbox copy) as it is more respectful to the source material than the PC port and simply looks much better.

@Liam Nacinovich nah mate the original graphics for 1 suck unless you're playing on an original xbox. The reason being is it's based of the more accessible pc version which was such a poor unfaithful port by a 3rd party company. It's honestly so much worse than the actual original version that it's just better and more faithful to play on remastered graphics for texturing, 3d environment, character designs and most level designs (except for flood missions though they're still not as good on the poorer copy of the original compared to the actual xbox original lol). Plus the anniversary follows the canonical art style

Sadly the Halo CE Classic graphics for Anniversary arent actually the original graphics. They're the Gearbox PC port graphics, and they broke a lot of Bungie's original graphic design when they made the and are a huge downgrade to how the game looked on the original Xbox, but because the PC port has Online multiplayer support is the version 343 decided to use for Anniversary.

The thing is the the original graphics are only good if you're playing on an original xbox. They suck if you're playing it on the 360 or xbox one because of the stupid terrible 3rd party unfaithful port of the game to pc which was the more accessible one to use for the re releases. @Dee Bee Geek I had to look over ALL the Halo content and I missed some stuff. So here is an up to date version of the best experience of halo chronological in order. Halo CE (you are here), Halo CEA Terminals, Halo 2 (I suggest in anniversary, those Blur Studio cinematics) Halo 2 Anniversary Terminals, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 3, Halo: Forward Unto Dawn Film, Halo 4, Halo 4: spartan ops cutscenes, Halo: nightfall episodes, Halo 5, Halo Wars 2 cutscenes(in-game and cinematic). Optional: Halo: Headhunters; 20 min animation that I couldn't find a place to put it in. I think it happened before Reach. This is an experience. On a final note, Halo fact: Spartan-II armor weighs 1000 Lbs and can allow the user to lift up to 2 1/2 tons. EDIT: Forgot to add Halo Wars 2 cutscenes EDIT 2: added Halo CE and Halo 2 terminals, thanks @Joshua Borg

Yeah you cant change the graphics during the cutscene. However you can in halo 2. Be aware tho in halo 2 you could miss dialogue switching between graphics. However if you play through halo 2 in the old graphics you will hurt my soul

I discovered Halo 1 back in 2007, I was 12 then. & In my 1st year of high school (I'm from Scotland, that's how the education system works) Anyway, I bought Halo 1 & got Halo 2 3 months later. Both for PC. I would never be able to play another Halo game until I was 16 (2011) when I got my 1st xbox. I 1st played reach, then 3, then Halo 3 ODST. Then played Halo 4 when it came out. To this day, I still play modded campaigns for CE and Eldewrito. Good times.

I can't wait for him to reach halo 2 anniversary. Halo 1 anniversary felt more like an experiment. Sure the graphics was nice but the art-style was ugly since it uses assets from halo reach and halo 3. Plus having hd stuff with the old-style layout of levels doesn't go well together in my opinion. Halo 2 anniversary felt more complete in terms of remastering. Not only did it update the graphics, but they did a good job at making sure the atmosphere stayed the same, it helps that halo 2 has the advantage of the levels being detailed, even back in 2004.

Something wild to think about is that nobody expected this game to be so well received. It wasn't even supposed to have a sequel, let alone prequels and spin-offs. the guy by your pood when you wake up, he looks different in the remastered version because one of the makers of the game visited a 16 yr old 3 time cancer survivor who was a massive fan of halo, and said he wished he could live in halo forever. so he had some pictures taken of his face and put him in CE as the first guy we see. he passed away some time after. but he got his wish.

You're honestly so fun to watch and it's really wholesome seeing your joy and wonder for the first time, but the thing is, there's really not much point in playing classic graphics unless you're playing on the first ever original Xbox. Reason is the editions found on the more recent consoles are based off the PC's look which was ported to the PC by a 3rd party back in the day and as a result it loses so much of the texturing and character of the game. It would honestly be better to play the remastered graphics if you're playing on the xbox 360 or xbox one which is more faithful to the canonical halo style and has much better character designs along with texturing, and the intended feel of 3d environments and most level designs. The only slight issue is you've sort of played mostly through the best missions to have the remastered graphics, though the one you're on now is also better with remastered opposed to the poorer copy of the original. So please play in remastered and with Halo 2 you have to at least watch the cutscenes in remastered (with that game you can switch graphics in the cutscenes but it might be a bit easier to just play it in remastered though the only knock is the sound effects I don't think are as good but small price to pay) But please play some levels in combat evolved in remastered like maybe this level and the Last 3 in the game

God, I remember playing this for the first time when I was 7, it was a whole new universe, full of possibilities, and I was allowed to explore so much of it. It's honestly really cute seeing someone get that experience, it's really rare now-a-days. I'm so damn happy to see you have a blast with this game that I love and hold dear to my heart ^-^ Ps: Even if your skill aren't quite the Heroic or Legendary difficulty levels I've gotten used to, I'll still watch your experience through the games, even if at times my years of experience and optimization gets the better of me and I flinch a tiny bit. After nearly 20 years!! This games standaard graphics still look pretty good😄 my first experience with the game was back in 2001. At 11:35 you missed the destruction of the life pods behind the big Windows At 16:30 you missed the 3 lifepods flying over (at 16:46 you can see 1 small flash fly by)

The reason all the marines died in the escape pod is because chief was the only one not sitting down thus he bounced around inside that pod like a fucking pinball killing the marines in the process

Halo 1 campaign is still my favorite single player/coop game ever. I usually play through it a few times a year. Its a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Also, the Silent Cartographer level was originally made as a tech demo to showcase the original Xbox's power. It wasn't meant to be part of the finished game. I still remember watching that tech demo video with my dad. I decided right then that I wanted an Xbox instead of a PlayStation.

Ah, those 2001 graphics... I always played Halo CE and Halo 2 on the remastered graphics, so it's really... interesting... to see someone go through in classic mode, especially on their first playthrough. Either way, I hope you enjoy Halo! Ps, If you didn't like how the Forerunner structures look in anniversary, I wonder how you're going to react to Halo 3's Forerunner structures since they look exactly like that. (Also, Please play Halo 2 Anniversary remastered, the Cutscenes in the remastered version are Bellissimo!)

Ehh, I'd say halo 3 is a bit different. Less lights and darker metal, older feelin. As someone who doesn't really like the anniversary look too much, halo 3 has my favorite art soooo 😅

These are actually 2003 graphics, the MCC version uses the PC version which was made in 2003

Original CE art style is better than the "remaster" which basically just re-uses Reach assets. Halo 2 Anniversary should be played in Remastered though as it's faithful to the original artstyle and just looks amazing, especially the cutscenes.

I honestly don’t know if I would recommend playing with the old or new graphics. New ones are obviously better and look like the reach graphics but the old ones give you the same feeling we all had back in 2001

It's remastered all the way because the original graphics for 1 suck unless you're playing on an original xbox. The reason being is the original graphics for the recent copies is based off the more accessible pc version which was such a poor unfaithful port by a 3rd party company. It's honestly so much worse than the actual original version that it's just better and actually more faithful to play on remastered graphics (except for flood missions though they're still shit on the horrible poor copy of the original compared to the actual xbox original lol). So I'd never recommend th e original graphics unless you have the original game on the original xbox, someone really should have explained this to Dee

For me personally it doesn't make any sense playing the game with original graphics. It doesn't matter that this was the "original experience", what makes the game good is the fact is remastered. Otherwise just play the game on PC then since Halo CE came to pc with shitty graphics back then. Idk I just don't get the point of this nostalgia thing. He obviously don't have nostalgia for the game since he didn't play back then, so this only benefits viewers while he's missing the cutscenes with nice graphics. The soundtrack thing is something that I can understand, although I liked the remastered versions as well, but soundtrack is a big part of the classic experience, but the visuals honestly doesn't matter at all, this doesn't take away at all the experience. The graphics are just a nice touch, but it only appeals to people who played the game on the original xbox or pc 10 something years ago.

Such a classic! I have fond memories of playing this with my brother growing up, and I've listened to the OG soundtrack more times than I can count. Remastered ruined the flood mission , made it too bright and lacked scary details and looks too colourful for combat evolved , but for 2 he should use remastered the art style is on point

OG Graphics definitely need to be used for CE since a huge portion of the game relies on the oldschool graphics to sell certain parts of the game how they should be. I agree that H2 should be played on anniversary, but CE should be played on Classic graphics
