Sadia, A big thank you from Holland. My sister, mom and I started living a vegan lifestyle and also started incorporating some minimalistic elements. We have different motives tho: save the planet (all), fight high blood pressure (mom), become a home made chef (sister) and support an athletic and active life (my sister and I). Even our dad doesn’t eat meat anymore, and cut down on dairy! Because of the partial lockdown my sister and I, who study in different cities, live at home at our parent’s house for a few weeks and we reconnect and every night cook amazing dishes for each other. And of course, half of the recipes are yours haha! You and the people you work with and connect with here on this channel have played a very, very big role in this. This is a safe haven for people who for example watch the Game Changers and want to make this lifestyle their own. It’s because of you guys we proudly carry the name vegan, and I always recommend PUL to everyone interested. Keep inspiring, and we hope you all stay safe and healthy during this pandemic. Much love from Arnhem (and Delft and Groningen)

cleo mina paneer is a type of cottage cheese. While it is delicious, it would make the dish not vegan. If that isn't an issue for you though, I'd say give it a try c: (I just watch for the recipes, I’m not vegan but a lot of the recipes on pul are very wholesome) Edit: The texture tends to be softer though, so it may not hold its shape like a firm tofu would.

Amazing recipes, Sadia!! As an Indian, I can see that though these are all adapted recipes, you have done your research on Indian techniques of cooking, from marinating with yoghurt to roasting whole/ground spices instead of just adding in "curry powder". Fun fact to those who might be unaware: traditional Indian dishes like Aloo Matar [peas and potato] or Palak paneer/tofu (spinach and Indian cottage cheese/tofu for those of us who prefer to veganise the dish) all have unique names and aren't all called "curry", and so no one uses "curry powder"! Also, thank you SO MUCH for just saying "naan" instead of "naan bread". Can't tell you how happy I am

Thanks Sadia.... if I may help convey few tips, its generally advisable to add mustard seeds first to the heated oil and let it splutter as it cooks well and doesnt taste raw later.. additionally garam masala is made with roasted whole spices to activate their oils so it is advisable to add it just before the end of finishing your dish , if added early they tend to overcook by the time we finish and loose their punch or worst yet.. add a burnt touch to the dish...

I'm still eating whats left in my fridge, but not buying any more meats. Salmon will be difficult to give up so I may keep that and have less often. After trying a few of your recipes and those of other vegan KZbinrs, I'm noticing that I have fewer cravings at night because I'm more nourished. Also, my digestion has improved. More plants around the house while I'm sheltering in place is also a benefit. In California, many of your ingredients are actually cheaper than meat. Another reason, I'm moving to vegan is the original cause of the corona virus; mistreating wild animals for meat in Chinese wet markets. Again, thank you for your valuable contribution to the health and well being of the world! Linda

The 'Butter Chicken' is to die for! I made it yesterday, we couldn't stop eating it. I'm making it again for tonight ;-) The Naan recipe is also absolutely delicious and goes well with the 'Butter Chicken'. Thank you Sadia for this wonderful inspiration!

Hi Sadia, All the curries look delicious. If a person had a nut allergy, what can they use to replace the nuts in the last curry or in any of the other recipes on the channel?
@Theo-xd4so4 жыл бұрын
I believe (and I'm no expert, so take it with a grain of salt) that nuts are either used for creaminess, protein, or both in her recipes so I would recommend substituting a seed butter like tahini for creaminess and protein or even just adding other creamy ingredients (coconut milk, plant-based yogurt, etc) Hope this helps!

I absolutely love the way you've made naan in this. I love naan and the cooking part gets a bit complicated in indian kitchens but this one's easy. The curry looks so so delicious! Thank you for this. Hope you're safe! ♥️

I totally agree! Bring on the curry recipes!!!! So easy to throw together with whatever I have. Love a recipe using yellow split peas - or any recipe. I was gifted 10 lbs of it from a neighbor. And can’t find Any recipes for them - expect for soup 🙄. Live the help. Also - tip for eggplant. No presoak need - cut in half face down (no oil or salt needed!👍) on aluminum on baking sheet. And just broil 500 degrees; cook until fork goes in easy. Don’t worry💪 the skin can take the beating and should look burnt when it’s done. ❤️ fork or spoon out (when cool enough to handle) and add to dish, pasta sauce, curries or hummus💕

I have watched some of your videos and noticed that you add powder spices while frying onions then you add a little water to it, instead of this you can just fry onion don`t add spices to it and add spices(powder) after you add tomatoes(or sundried tomatoes). This way the spices won`t stick to the pan and you don`t need to add water to your frying onions. Please try this method, if you don`t like it you can follow your method too.

I can’t wait to try these! I’m not able to fully embrace veganism for several reasons, but I am learning many great ideas on how to add more plant-based meals to my repertoire. Thanks!

Beautifully designed channel! I made the potato and green pea curry tonight for dinner. I would say that it is a very good base recipe. Everyone has a different palate and what works for one may not work for the other. I found it significantly lacking in flavor for my palate as is, as did my husband who I often get to taste my food as I cook. Once I “doctored” it up a bit, it was very delicious! I paired it with homemade naan but used a different recipe than the one that was included in this video, and jasmine rice. Definitely a good base recipe and probably very good as is to some. As with any recipe, taste while cooking and before serving and adjust to your palate. Home cooking is the best! Thanks for sharing.
