Made them today, replacing the maple sirup with 8 tbsp of raw cane sugar (making them sweeter and less healthy :)) and the coconut oil with vegan butter. The consistency is of course different from a traditional brownie, but I think they turned out delicious!

Made it with some moderation. Baked the potatoes, added 25 g of melted dark chocolate and 1 tbsp of chia seeds. Left out maple syrup. Turned out really awesome. I mean brownies are calorie heavy anyways. I'd rather eat the healthier version like this as I know that what I am eating is much much more nutritious. Tastes absolutely amazing. Don't think will go back to the usual flour sugar butter brownies anytime soon 😊

Hi from Florida : ) this recipe needs work. Did you have success? Also, I measured out the Aquafaba and it comes to 1 cup or 8 oz. That really seems like a lot of fluid for only 200 gms of flours. I hate to waste ingred. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks and happy cooking.

I’m gonna try this but only use 250g sweet potato cos I prefer a firmer texture. I’m using 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar mixed with 1 tsp baking soda instead of the chickpea juice, but when I have chickpeas to use up I’ll try that. I’m using gram flour, cocoa powder, date syrup, quarter cup xylitol, 1 tsp coffee, vanilla, quarter tsp salt and chocolate chunks

I made a few changes to the recipe: - i didnt have dates so i omitted them entirely, i did add a little extra sweet potato tho, the batter is still plenty sweet - for the ground almonds, i used a combo mix of different nut flours. I didnt change the flavor or texture much - im personally not vegan so i used an egg instead of the bean water mainly because i didnt have any - everything else was the same, however i would recommend mixing the potatoes and other ingredients in a mixer or by hand instead of in the food processor

SMH @ everyone complaining about how they don't like them. The base is SWEET POTATOES and MAPLE SYRUP, not WHITE PROCESSED FLOUR and SUGAR. So, yeah, they're not gonna be the same thing -- that's not the point. I find these delightful in their own right and go figure they don't make me feel like crap if I eat two or three of them in one go. Stop looking to eat your cake (i.e. super rich decadent traditional brownie) and have it too (lower fat and sugar content). If you want a decadent version, indulge yourself. And if you are looking for a decadent VEGAN brownie, there are plenty of them to be found.

Aquafaba ( bean water) is a great vegan egg substitute. You can't taste it at all ( even My non vegan friends didn't notice that). I am not quite sure about preservatives but in Europe the regulations should allow you to safely consume your products. But if you are still unsure, you can always cook your own chickpeas and make them from scratch. Lastly I'd just say that trying out new stuff and being open is a good thing, even if you won't make this specific recipe. :)
@Gigi-zw3ub6 жыл бұрын
Ig: _g.artist Hi! In my Biochemistry class we were told that water from canned foods should not be consumed, I think it depends, it may vary since nowadays there are a lot of new things out there. I’ll figure it out ASAP. Btw I’m not vegan yet, just plant based. I do still use eggs and honey, I’m using eggs instead of chickpeas water until I am sure if it’s safe/okay. And you’re right, that’s why am always trying new things and I’m glad you said it was unnoticed, that’s great. Have a good day 🌸
