Just an FYI (& for anyone wondering); these markers are brand new on the market & only come in a set of 60 (as far as I’m aware?) Arteza are an absolutely amazing brand in terms of listening to their customers & their feedback. Haven’t been sponsored or gifted (obviously ! No YT channel & I don’t use any other social media platforms), but I’ve been watching reviews of Arteza & watching their brand grow over the past few years & I can’t time you his mind blown I’ve been at how they take everything on board. From amateur crafters, to experienced artists, from their coloured pencils to their water colours, it’s been really pleasing to see them continuously bring new items out that have been improved over time. So if these alcohol markers aren’t quite up to scratch, don’t be too disheartened. They’re an amazing price (& for someone like me who mostly makes cards but has been avoiding alcohol markers because of the price.. they’re super appealing even with the current negatives), & I suspect they’ll be more out in the future with tweaks & more colour variety. I always see the first Arteza items as a ‘taster’ of what’s to come. I purchased their full set of colouring pencils, & although I have a set of polychromos it’s only the set of 36 (it’s all I could budget for!), but Arteza pencils are pretty bloomin’ good for their price point. No complaints from me! Cheers for the review & updates :) All the best x

Lol - I do have a heavy hand, but actually tried to not press so hard so the noise would not be so bad. However, that part where I zoom in and the noise is very loud - I did that jokingly. I'm sorry if it was very bothersome. Sometimes it is more the angle I'm going in mixed with the wrong kind of paper. The markers are very smooth on marker paper.

@@DeliriArt Yeah, I noticed that they don't go down as nicely on paper that isn't cardstock, in my own experience, too! Some mixed media papers are much better than others. Interesting how much of a difference it makes. & also, no need to apologize at all. Was just letting you know, in case you didn't already (though it seems you did, at this point). It's all good! Oh yeah, paper type can make or break a marker, or any medium for that matter. This cardstock makes very vibrant flat colors, but it sucks your markers dry. I need to do a little research and find good paper or cardstock. Right now I only have this and the window & newton marker paper. You have a great day as well! 😊

The case looks nice but I like just a regular bag without slots. I have my markers organized in organizers anyways. Prismacolor markers are nice but the design falls short a bit. I don't mind the bullet nib though. I just got 6 copic markers and love them. It's a different experience compared to prismacolor markers. Arteza markers seem great, but I already bought ohuhu which was only 29.99 for 60. Thank you for the video.

For some reason KZbin sent your comment up for "review." :/ And I just saw it. I so agree about the case - as far as I'm concerned, it is just fluff. I would end up giving it away. If I had to travel with my markers I'd just dump them all out into a zip up canvas bag. But my son loves the bag. He is actually keeping them organized and it is nice that every time I walk into his room I find him drawing - which he has never done before. That makes me so happy. :) I LOVE Prismacolor. Their ink is unmatched, IMO (too bad they don't make refills). These come close to Prismacolor as far as ink. I do prefer the Copic brush nib to the Prismacolor one. The Copic is firmer, perfect. I also agree that there are cheaper alternatives out there, but I don't think the ink is comparable from what I've seen in other reviews. I mean, if Copic is better than Ohuhu, and Prismacolor has better ink than Copic, and Arteza has better ink than Copic...kwim.

You guys, after trying these for a while, I do NOT recommend, IF you need a good selection of skin tones. There are too few in this set. I'm guessing Arteza will come out with complementary sets of skin and pastel colors. However, I don't see the sense in buying these right now when Ohuhu sells the 120 set for the same price. :/ Not that I don't like these as far as performance. But as far as "bang for the buck" there are better choices out there.

I am sorry for super dumb questions, did you had more time to use the everblend Arteza, would you still recommend that I buy 100 set of Ohuhu ? Finally someone that didn't get Arteza supplies for free! I wonder if those reviewers are bias because of that. So grateful for your honest review! :)
@DeliriArt5 жыл бұрын
I think maybe reviews where they get supplies for free might be a tiny bit biased or they might feel like they owe the company or might want to give them an incentive to continue to receive free products. But if I put myself in their place I think that if I'm truly not happy with a product, that I would not want the company to send me more, kwim? I think for the most part they are honest. But if they are sponsored then I would not trust that most of the time. Thanks for watching! 😊💚

This is helpful! I wonder why Arteza didn’t go ahead and do a brush nib over the bullet nib? People seem to like those better. Thanks for taking the time to do this!
@DeliriArt5 жыл бұрын
I think brush nibs are pricier to manufacture or maybe the issue is a lack of supply.. I think they will eventually have brush nib replacement and ink refills...but they might be too late to the game since Ohuhu should be coming out with a line of brush markers soon. I'm glad you found this helpful. Thanks for watching! 😊💛

I would go with a large 120 set of Ohuhu because it has more skin tones, more markers and more color variety, hands down. I recently tried to use these to color skin and I could not just because there is just one flesh tone. The other two were too orange. And layering the pastels did some weird blotchy thing. So I trashed it and am restarting over with copic (and a few prismacolor) today. This will be in my next video. Oh, these also tend to damage my marker paper. I wish I had used them a little more before my review because some issues were not immediately apparent.

Just a recommendation that I haven't seen other people suggest and from what you said it might help. Most artists I've seen do reviews do a piece with the product their trying in the video to see them in real application before giving a recommendation. You came later with a comment, which not everyone looks at the comments, saying that you wish you'd used them longer/in a piece before giving a recommendation because it basically completely changed your recommendation.

I got these yesterday and they're kinda hard to use for new users
@DeliriArt5 жыл бұрын
That is true for all alcohol markers; there is a learning curve. I started with copic and prismacolor and after my first time I put them away because they were more difficult for me than color pencils or watercolor and made my art look blotchy (because I color too fast). But when I got the hang of them I loved them. Now they are so much fun to use. It might help to look up some tips and tricks videos for Ohuhu markers, which are basically the same as these as far as the tips and how the inks behave.
@Keevus035 жыл бұрын
Why do these markers sound like they're so dry?
@DeliriArt5 жыл бұрын
Both the brands sound the same. It is a combination of my mic picking up all kinds of sounds, the paper is rough, and chisel nibs being harder. The screetching sound actually came from the copic. But there is really no difference. The Arteza are very juicy, actually.
@DeliriArt5 жыл бұрын
Any marker will do that pooling watercolor effect on that paper. Paper quality is more important than markers because the inks are basically all the same on the popular brands. I use the Windsor and Newton marker paper. It is very thin, but the colors go on smooth and vibrant. And it is less absorbent so it does not sick up all my ink. It is buttery smooth (with any nib), so it is gentler on the nibs. I don't sell marker originals because they are not lightfast, so I don't care that my paper is not cardstock.

I'm sorry i did not see this sooner. You do not have to have everything all at once, just start little by little and be resourceful. The Ohuhu markers are amazing and very affordable. Especially when you get the ones without the brush nibs. I started my marker collection by thinking of what I wanted to draw, planning the colors I was going to use, and just buying those colors...usually 3 or 4 of them. It was fun and challenging. My first 3 colors were a vibrant green, medium gray, and a dark purple brown. I made a challenge for myself and made 3 family members pick a color each. One had to pick a light color, the other a medium, and one dark, but not black. And from there I went building my collection of Copic. There is always a way to make art.

They actually blend very well. Better than Copic where the contrasty colors are concerned. More like Prismacolor. I may have to compare them to prismacolor, but I think they are a bit better than them, too. The colors I was blending needed an intermediate 3rd color to blend better. But I wanted to push them as hard as I could.
