which connector is it you used for the 24pin to 8pin you said its the only one that works correctly where can i find it
@itggear3 ай бұрын
There are many 24-pin PSU adapters, such as 24-pin to 6-pin for Dell, 24-pin to 10-pin for Lenovo, and 24-pin to 8-pin for Dell. However, only the 24-pin to 8-pin adapter for Dell allows the motherboard to control the PSU on/off. Other 24-pin adapters use the PSU activation pin connected directly to the ground pin, causing the PSU to always turn on whenever the PC is plugged into the wall. Any 24-pin to 8-pin adapter that has a mini control board inside the cable, as shown in this video, uses the same technique. Thank you.

Hey man great video there, you earned a new subscriber. I just had one question and it would be great if you could clear it for me because I might try this. The question is how many SATA connections are left if I want to put in another SSD or large capacity HDDs

In regard to the Dell Precision T3420 SFF and the case I used in this video, here’s the breakdown: The Dell T3420 motherboard features three SATA connectors and one M.2 slot, while the case supports two 3.5-inch SATA drives and two 2.5-inch SATA drives.

What case did you use for this build? Also, what's the value of doing this verses just buying a normal motherboard and just doing a normal PC build? IMHO, this build seems very ghetto and janky...
@itggear3 ай бұрын
Hey there! Thanks for tuning in and sharing your thoughts! Regarding the case, I used the DeepCool Macube110 Limited HW. It’s a budget-friendly option that offers better airflow and allows for some creative tinkering. But let’s dive into the value of this whole endeavor. 1. Why Bother?: Fair question! When you’re on a tight budget (and who isn’t these days?), repurposing existing components can be a smart move. Here’s why: - Cost Savings: Buying a brand-new motherboard, CPU, and other components can quickly add up. By reusing what you’ve got, you save some serious cash. - Environmental High-Five: Recycling and repurposing are eco-friendly. It’s like giving Mother Earth a fist bump. - The Joy of DIY: For some of us, the thrill lies in the challenge. Taking an old system and giving it new life feels like leveling up in a game. Plus, it’s a chance to learn and experiment. 2. Ghetto or Genius?: Now, about that “ghetto and janky” vibe-I hear you! But let’s reframe it: - Resourcefulness: Sure, it might look a bit unconventional, but resourcefulness is the name of the game. MacGyver would be proud! - Character: Every scratch, every mismatched screw-it’s all part of the story. This build has character, like a battle-scarred hero. - Customization: Remember, not everyone wants a cookie-cutter PC. Some of us crave uniqueness. And hey, Picasso’s early sketches weren’t exactly polished either! 3. The Performance Tango: So, does it perform? Absolutely! Proper airflow keeps those components cool, which means better longevity and performance. Plus, you’ve got bragging rights: “Yeah, I built this from spare parts!” In the end, it’s about celebrating creativity, practicality, and the joy of making something your own. So, whether it’s a sleek gaming rig or a quirky hybrid, keep doing what you love!

@@itggearI’m like you, I talk a lot so don’t mind it 😂. As long as you are not tired. I write long replies, specially to people that deserve it and need it. Hate, I ignore it 💯. Sometimes I teach people and explain stuff in a good way and they express themselves better and have good manners on their next comments. If we mind one bad comment out of 100 good ones, it can discourage us. So. Stay positive and great content. I’ll build something modern soon, inside a 1999 case. Something unique. Thanks for the great content 👍🏼

4 pin CPU connector for a 90w CPU, nice. let us know when the connector melts and weld itself shut to the PSU cable. great effort but all in the wrong place, you could have kept it simple with an i5 or even a normal i7-7700 non-k at least it's 65w and won't stress that 4 pin as much. good job nonetheless.

I think it is okay because my Dell Precision T3630 with an Intel Core i9-9900K also uses a 4-pin CPU power connector on the motherboard, and it works fine.
