In this home renovation video, we're tackling our living room and removing a bulky built-in shelving unit that's been taking up space for too long. We'll show you the process of how we took it apart and what we did when we accidentally removed some of the walls. Don't worry, we've got it all under control, and we'll show you how we used lime plaster to repair the damage.
But that's not all - we also share with you our agonizing decision-making process when it came to choosing paint colours and floor varnish. Join the debate between different and help us choose between which shades of white, grey, and blue and how we finally made a decision. And if you're struggling with your own home renovation decisions, we hope this video provides some inspiration and guidance.
So join us as we document our DIY renovation journey and share some tips and tricks along the way. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe to our channel for more home renovation content!

First! Yay! After watching: There’s a Canadian show called Holmes Family Rescue, that HGTV shows in the States. He says you have to open it up because you need to see any water damage, etc., so “easy” is how buildings end up getting condemned. “Easy” lets issues spread to the parts of the building that are holding it up. Jack was spot on to remove all that and see what was underneath. I’ve absolutely mixed wall paint before, to get the exact tone I wanted. Don’t be afraid to do that, but test in an old sour cream or yogurt tub first, rather than the whole bucket of paint. Thankfully I had not yet taken my first sip of coffee when you said that about safety glasses, Naomi! 😂

When we moved into this house, the pine floors needed sanding. It was a nightmare using a large floor sander, even two fairly large men took turns. We’ve been here a long time, and when the floor (because it is pine) needed sanding again, we covered them with wood planks instead.

Picking paint colours is a core and a half not to mention costly, after buying 6 samples I actually ended up creating my own colour by mixing two of the samples together and taking it to Leyland for them to scan and mix me up a big tin of a colour that was unique/a colour that i created and loved 👍🏾 looking forward to seeing how your reno goes, looking great so far

I sanded 3 bedrooms, a hallway, and a flight of stairs with a hand held sander. Took bloody ages ,and the amount of pads I went through was insane, but... it came out amazing, so worth it. I tried a large sander, and there was no way I could handle it, way to heavy and tried to eat the floor boards. I hope it went well and you now have beautiful flooring in your super cute flat.

Do the paint test as horizontal bars so you can see how the colours look in different light as you get further from the window. Darker colours do make a room look smaller but maybe as an accent wall is OK in a tall room like you have.

Guys, I think you can not beat white walls can't go wrong with that. The fire place like I mentioned before with an electric fire behind a glass panel would look amazing with the TV on the wall above it.

I'm so impressed that you had a go at your own plastering. Only once. On refelection, it would have been more successful if I'd bought tubes of superglue and stuck on individual grains of sand and plaster separately. DIY is not my friend. The only thing I missed from this video was shots of you pulling off strips of that hideous brick wallpaper. It would have been like ASMR for sadists. As ever, though - masses of good taste decisions on your parts.

wow I wish we had uploaded this at the time we were thinkign of doing it, it would have saved us, you wil see in later videos the plaster did not go to plan haha! we may have to send you some ASMR clips of removing the wall paper haha
