Hahaha it’s expensive because he’s paying for every other girl. This reminds me of a guy I almost dated. He was a very successful engineer (now works with NASA) and I looked through his phone. With me he paid for everything BUT when I saw the plethora of women he was talking to ( BTW this is a country white guy 👱🏻‍♂️) I couldn’t believe it. He would tell every other girl how he was “broke” and if they wanted to stop by his home 🏡. Some actually believed him and would agree to even pay 💰 for his dinner 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️ the whole “forward” empowerment thing. What they didn’t know he was spending most of his check on me. I’m not easy at all and he was pulling all the stops. So many people misread/misinterpreted that study. Black women were least likely to be responded to by white men, while Asian men were least likely to be responded to by white women. It's so typical of this society to only view attractiveness through the lens of what straight white people find attractive. Black women were most likely to be responded to by East/South Asian men, Hispanic Men, and Indigenous Men (literally everyone except white men). Black men were most likely to get a response from white women.

Ok so here's the thing. If you're broken up, non exclusive, or in muddy waters relationship wise, it's not really cheating - if you agree that it's okay to see other people. But if you lie? Raven was talking about their relationship but he wasn't....but I figured he was quiet and shy and focusing on school 🙄 What was his endgame though? He wasn't into Raven so he could have just walked away. He said no at the altar, end of story. There was no need to do what he did and there was especially no need to get engaged. What was he doing? Cheating is always unnecessary but this was ESPECIALLY unnecessary since he pursued Raven when he knew he likes blonde white girls!

«believing SK was off» is not about believing that good people, good trustworthy men don’t exist. to me at least. of course they do. the reason he pretty quickly creeped me out is because he was always perfectly composed. extremely polite and smooth, mild demeanor. words carefully picked out, tone always even. not one asperities in sight. i’m not talking about wearing your flaws on your sleeves, just small regular human stuff, idk. a small thing: a high pitched laugh, a weird interest, a nervous habit, a funny facial expression. a peculiar word used often when speaking. something, any tiny thing to show me you’re not an actual robot. i’ve met people like that in real life and at the time thought they were just very polite and mild mannered. i run in the opposite direction now, that’s a demon.

Haitian woman, and I sussed SK. The stories I have about women in my family who have husbands with whole second, third, fourth, fifth families in Haiti and secret children. Married for green card, started arguments so they can live mostly in Haiti to start new families and businesses without telling their wife type drama. I started watching Nigerian media years ago and saw way too many similarities in culture to trust SK. I would have liked to be wrong. He made one comment about men having control of the TV remote, and I don't know why, but it was a full "no" for me after that. Something about it seemed too familiar.

It will never cease to amaze me how often people cheat, and how there’s no safeguard against it. Raven is drop dead gorgeous, and while we can’t say much about her personality just from a show, she did turn down Bartiste and stayed loyal to SK because he was (seemingly) a man with more depth. My dad also cheated on my mum, and with a woman who was a truly awful person that couldn’t hold a candle to my mother. Some people cannot appreciate what they have in the moment, and if that’s the case they should be honest and not drag others into their dissatisfaction.

Season One had just the right amount of messy drama, and we had the wholesomeness of Cameron and Lauren in between the messiness to even it out. Season 3 was just an absolute dumpster fire. I think after the success of the first season, more people are coming on the show just for their 15 minutes of fame rather than actually wanting to find a life partner. And the people who are actually there for marriage become collateral damage.

I couldn’t 100% get on the SK bandwagon. He seemed to be one of the better guys there (low bar) at face value but when I thought about real world big picture my knee jerk reaction was “Why are you here?” He’s in his 30’s going to undergrad full time from a traditional Nigerian family and he paused his life to enter a reality tv show to find a wife!? He has no real job. He’s living on financial aid. He’s old enough that if he was truly mature he would not have even been on the show. Like you put your life on hold to go back to school full time to then put your life on hold to go on a reality dating show where the goal is to get a wife. Marriage is a legal contract. Why are you trying to subject a woman to being your benefactor for the next 3-4 years?? Shouldn’t you be in class? Add on the fact that he comes from a very traditional family so his exposure to marriage roles has also been very traditional and the cynical part of me knew that he wasn’t showing his true colors on the show. His actions that brought him to the show read as someone trying to find himself and enjoying the ride along the way ( maybe even somewhat impulsive). That does not match the ultra mature, worldly person that he tried to present himself as.

Remember everyone thought Raven was the player? Even her friends said she wasn't ready to commit. That's why it was so easy to believe that they were faking their relationship the whole time. The side pieces believed it. I almost believed it. I also wondered why she was on the show, but I don't blame her for falling for him. Some people are slow to commit and give up some independence, but loyal once they're in love. So props to Raven for representing a different type of woman.
