we don't have life without Parole in the UK we have what is known as whole life sentences which work a bit different to places like the USA. when a sentence is set for murder it is automatically life with a minimum amount of years given- I believe the average years a person will serve for murder is 16 years. It is rare a whole life sentence is given (because our system is build on reform and the belief that people can change their ways- rightly or wrongly). It was introduced in the 80s and 40 decades later there are only 70 prisoners now in prison with whole life sentence. People make the mistake thinking they will spend the rest of their life in prison, some do/will but you can be let out when it is deemed you are too old or sick to harm a fly.

I went to the aid of a neighbour who was being attacked by two young adult males who had smashed his window, they attacked him, myself who one hit me on the head with a metal road sign, and my brother in law who came out to help. They had earlier broken the skull of a young man in a pub with a pool ball in a sock. When we went to court they were just bound over as the jails were full. Crazy, no justice, makes you want to take the law into your own hands. These people have not faced justice, they are threat to public safety and should never be given freedom on our streets.

The sentences in this case were far too lenient, especially given the horrific loss of six innocent children. Mick Philpot's history of violence and manipulation should have warranted much harsher punishment from the beginning. It’s hard to comprehend how someone responsible for such a heinous crime can be eligible for release after serving only a portion of their sentence. The justice system failed to fully protect society from individuals like Philpot, and these tragic deaths might have been prevented had he faced stricter consequences earlier.
