@@jirensentry7609 you can't become a warrior overnight. It takes diligence, direction, hope, and training. Now if your referring to chinese history and kung fu weapons modeled after farm equipment, they refined their skills at night out of sight. Or the american militias in the revo war, than youd have to consider the fact that guns were a part of life already and God did the rest. It even takes training to be a prayer warrior.

This sermon is such a crucial message for pastors in understand the severity of the consequences of sin in their lives ,and the lives of their flock, that to laugh at any stage within the message is telling. Mr Piper is using scripture expositionally correctly and neither taking away from nor adding to scripture and so those who mock the message or in some crass way find any semblance of humour in it cannot truly understand the richness of Gods mercy in the crucifixion of His Son for their sin.

I feel like it is important to be on a faith walk when you kill sin completely from your life.. but just scaring people doesn't always work.. sometimes people just need to know who they are in Christ for them to stop.. That's why there is a balance of both in scripture.. and most importantly.. to believe.. the other thing is you can still have fun preaching.. Not everything is just about saving people from hell.. It's about showing them who Jesus is and what he did on that cross that makes people fall in love to want to change out of a sinful life habit.. I watch many John Piper sermons and love all of them.. this one I felt like he's just giving his personal opinion on people having a fun service.. Theres a time and a place for everything... even while giving the word and the truth to men in a straightforward way, I feel like I'm having a blast walking in the Lord and him showing me what to say and how to do it.. Because the Lord is pilot over my life.. so it is going to be fun :) - Love you John!

► THERE IS MERCY FOR ALL WHO COME TO CHRIST. When the Holy Spirit resides "in you" He remains there as the guard rails of your life’s journey. Hitting the guard rails tell you that you’re still on the road. Jesus was the only perfect man. ► Of course you will still sin, as every Christian does, but it will become less frequent over time as you uncover the deeper meaning of God's Word, so read the Bible (I mean actually read it for yourself), attend church with other true believers (as they are also in need of similar fortification of the faith), and walk the narrow path that Christ has set for you. ► Satan will have you believe in a lie -- that you cannot receive salvation. Look, the fact that you are aware of your sin and that it actually bothers you is a healthy sign that the Holy Spirit is working in you to convict you of your sin (show you that you are sinning); although your soul is disturbed by that sin, it no longer desires it as a primary focus. Satan is selling you a bill of goods. Don’t fall for it, because he is a clever force of evil. ►The sin to which a person continues to return to, such as deeds of the flesh (or even thoughts of lust, as many men seem to carry through pornography) all come back to the Book of Genesis. God created all things according to His order. This means that if any men (or woman) places their preference of things above that, then their act is one of dis-order (disobedience). So, any thought or act pertaining to sex that is not in keeping with God’s design -AND- order is, by definition, DISORDER. When you stop your sin, you reestablish order. In doing so, and thereby returning to Christ in repentance, you maintain your relationship. It was never lost, it is refreshed. The fact of the matter is this… WE cannot do it by ourselves., If WE tried, we’d all be lost. So, God sent us the Holy Spirit to keep us in faith. It is through the Holy Spirit that God holds on to us. We have His promise that He will NOT let us go. Every time you pray and ask for His forgiveness for sin, you are aware that what you did or thought was wrong according to His standards. The blessing here is that by turning back in repentance each time, you gain a deeper understanding that YOU cannot do it without Christ and through the power of the Holy Spirit (the Helper). So, STOP making this about what YOU can do or cannot do, and leave that up to Christ… because you’ve already received forgiveness and know full well YOU can’t do it alone. If you could, you wouldn’t need a Savior. When you are saved you are not abandoned to fend for yourself like some orphan without a Father... you're given the Holy Sprit as your Helper. ► Let me leave you with a passage from scripture… JOHN 14:16-21 … 16“ I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth [Holy Spirit] , whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. 18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 “After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20 “In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”

"There is no mercy for me..." is a lie from the pit of hell and you know it. God can deliver you, but he calls you into the fight with him. At Gethsemane when the mob came to arrest Him, he said, "Rise, let us go." Are you going into battle with your sin or just waiting for Him to defeat it for you?

@@HanShotFirst84 I fight. But invariably I end up sinning, at least in my heart. To achieve final salvation we have to have won over sin. There is no amount of sin that God will wink at. And if I did win the battle, that may cause pride in me, which is the worst sin of all. I’m thinking of going back to believing that faith in Christ for the forgiveness of sins truly pays it all. That we are truly and actually saved by faith alone. Why? Because I, although I’m not the sinner I used to be, still have sin.
