The Bible says 'reckon YOURSELF dead to sin and alive unto God in Christ Jesus'. We will always loose if we try to fight sin as to fight it would be in the flesh which loves sin. A dead man cannot sin.

This is what Im struggling within me from being someone that grew up in disfunctional family and was not brought up in christ and specially when all you were taught was wrong and self distructive behavior and is normal and for whatever reason your brain and body cannot comprehend whats comensence and like addiction is just insanity and makes no sence and I want so bad for My heart and mind to be christ like and have struggled to seek and change but Just screw up everything and just pretty much jump off cliff to my death and i hate that I even think this but I Feel hurt and angry at God that yes we have free will, but when all u were taught was wrong or plagued with family curses of addiction, depression or have mental health And since God had reveilled himself to me and the hope that I had for all the impossible and tired from the expectations from my father the world and myself has worn me down and all I keep getting from the God and his word is im screwed and I couldnt even do whats right and be sane and was drawn and felt accepted from the dark things of the world which makes e hate myself worse and no matter how bad I want or pray or have faith and cry out to save me from me all im getting is what I reap which I except and but if its up to me to figure out or make my heart desire the things of him and dont know how or never was in me and then to know I also have a enemy that I cant see and has more advantage by being able to decieve me and really been doing his job for him and I hate myself the way I am and think and God that I was depending on has left me to my own distruction and im just living to die and deing to live an to here. There will be few that find it and can walk and I get angry that God Let me be born and I know it says God does not temp with evil and this life is a precious gift but very hard to recieve when you know you have done your best and wants to be different and want to be used by God to bring Good this world but just destroy everything in Your path while your trying to have faith and change and learn and live for God the best way and all thats with in me but is left in my own destruction and theres nothing I can do but ask for his forgiveness for being a weak hearted wayword child and have mercy on me.

Pastor John, my oldest brother is homosexual and recently married his boyfriend. I have a large family and about half of us are not christians. The wedding caused much resentment in my family, another brother who is not a Christian asked my why I didn't go to the wedding, I was not very well able to explain it.

Grayson Schaffner You should have gone to your brothers wedding. Is your brother who is Gay a Christian? If he isn't a Christian then he should not be expected to follow the word of God. If he does profess to be a Christian then he should meditate in God's word about His plan for marriage. It is not for Christians to become judgmental and self righteous about other people's lifestyles. We need to show love to all people. I'm guessing your brother isn't your enemy, but we're supposed to be loving even to our enemies.

Read or listen to what John piper says about attending gay marriage. He explains several reasons why God designed Man and Woman for marriage.

In a sense yes. But any other way other than Jesus is part of the broad road. The way of sin in other words. Whether it be other gods before him or the lusts of this life over Him. It's all part of the broad road.

@@buixrule Yes of course. Some people never come to Jesus because they love sin too much. Others come to Jesus and still struggle with sin. His sacrifice for us is once and for all. Once we believe, we are saved and it's done. That does not mean we never fall into sin again. So the broad path isn't sin. It's any other justification BESIDES Jesus that is the broad path. We stumble into sin? We're still on the narrow path because we were already saved, once and for all, once we believed. And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10 Romans 3

Great message I really want to rest in Jesus but first I need to know I'm saved I came to Jesus about 6 months ago but theres been many doubt in my mind ever since the first 2 weeks were great I was hungry for God and his word but then doubts came for different reasons and ive struggled with things ever since I need to KNOW I'm saved but how ? I've talked to everyone prayed all sorts I'm in a real mess :(

Mike Hill brother the way to salvation doesn't come once and forever, it's a new lifestyle a new way of living and to be saved need to last to the end to last breath here on earth bywalking with Jesus and its not hard or easy, very clear it's only by changing the way of living according to God's Jesus Christ words anything that against Jesus Christ teaching is a sin and wrong direction, the hard part is majority following this path the easy path the wide door and not coping or living like the world that's the hard part, the easy part is we are not alone, God himself Jesus Christ with us through the Holy Spirit and that's enough if God the Creator of the universe with someone who can go against it.

We have a misunderstanding of striving and rest. You cannot look at those two words from the optics of the flesh. In fact Paul admonishes us to regard no many any longer according to the flesh. "So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. Although we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.…When you are in Christ, you are a new creation, the old is gone the new is come." (2 Corinthians 5:16-17) We have to have to realize we are a new creation. Literally our fundamental essence once you are Christians, is different than what we were hitherto. We are a new creation. And the only way to walk out our identity in Christ, as Christians is in the Spirit. Which means we must listen and hear God's voice and follow it. So since we are new creations in Christ, and his blood paid for our sins, the striving we do is not for getting God's approval, our striving is against the laziness and pleasures of the flesh to get to know God better. This is the great adventure. And if you have pressed in to want to know God, then your sin will suddenly become apparent. And as you listen, God will show you how to leave the sin and old man behind and walk in your new state. God wants to be sought, although he is always reaching out to us. This is the key. Walking in the spirit. So what does it mean to enter God's rest? It's not a fleshly relaxing. In fact there is this curious verse in Hebrews 4:11 11 "Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience." Sounds ironic, huh? Striving or working hard to enter his rest. But yes, the striving is against our flesh. The striving is to learn to walk in the spirit in our new identity and connect more deeply with our father. God's REST is where we find our home in him. In his presence it is not just a simple relaxing. It is also a rest from striving to please him and other people (a vestige of the old man we often walk in and have to unlearn) As we learn to walk in the spirit and leave the old man, we enter more and more into that rest. In his presence is PEACE. Listen to what Psalms 16:11 says "...you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." Walking in the spirit and communing with God produces peace. It is one of the fruits of the spirit named in Galatians. The reason why they are called fruits of the Spirit, is because the worldy carnal man can never have these. So seek God my friend, and engage with him. God delights to give good gifts to his children. And as we become used to finding our peace and joy in him, he gives us everything we desire. "Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalms 37:4. What better rest is that ?
