What I find fascinating about Luzaku is while some hive ghosts are shown to have various levels of reluctance to what the lucent hive are doing, Luzaku's ghost is pushing her towards that philosophy. And Luzaku is the first hive to reject that philosophy. It wasn't a matter of Luzaku being convinced by 'good' ghost to reject her ways. She had to realize she could make a choice by herself, and find the strength to make this choice when every voice was telling her she would fail. That's incredible perception and strength. I wonder if seeing a ghost so change their philosophy might have been the spark to think she could also change. Or if seeing how hive philosophy sounds in the voice of newly born fanatic made it sounds false to one who seen what that philosophy was in practice for so long.

I mean, not all ghosts are going to be like Ghost, Sundance or Targe. Some of them are just straight up assholes, like Immaru or Germaine's ghost, hell, by some perspective, Fynch not reviving his knight could be seen as him being a bad ghost, so seeing Luzaku's ghost being just another sword logic cultist isn't at all surprising.

GReat video! One interesting thing with Mithraax and Luzaku is that Mihtraax came to be as a Fallen Captain the player could choose to spare on Titan when finding him battling a Hive Knight. Luzaku came to be known to us as a Hive Guardian sparing a Human Guardian. Fun dichotomy.

Its interesting that oft time ghost and their lightbearers have complementary personalities bec they are opposing while some are complementary because they are generally in alignment. The ghost and guardian are in alignment so much so that he can simply speak on our behalf even accepting missions for us. While we see targe and zavala when zavala gets amped targe brings him back down, sagira and osiris where she is more like a redirector of the intense focus he wields.

31:30 is REALLY interesting. bungie is definitely setting big things up with micah, crow and "speaker" aligned characters. one of the visions of the traveler for the khvostov quest - which is directly from the point of view of the traveler - addresses the speakers, includes crow and micah among them, and uses this exact phrase, this "waves lapping at a distant shore." the fact this exact phrase being used to describe her has now shown up not only from THE TRAVELER, but also from luzaku means that this is something we should keep an eye on going forward.

As cool as the thought is that Luzaku is the Hive equivalent to Misraaks, I think it's more going the way that Luzaku is the Hive equivalent of a 'Speaker' instead. It would be interesting to see Luzaku, Micah 10, and perhaps an Eliksni (Eido) all become speakers for their respective races, perhaps with a Cabal speaker to follow, after Caiatl gets her revenge against the Hive. It would be interesting to see a council of speakers determining the interactions for all the races going forward. Whether they end up in a single location, perhaps in the tower, or even in the HELM, it would be cool to get to see them up close and interact with them.

I believe one reason Savathun is open to Luzaku choosing her own path and even allying with the Coalition cause it ensures a future for the Hive. If her plan works the hive lives, if it fails Luzaku will help ensure the hive lives on, ensuring her people live on regardless of who wins. Of course i could be wrong and there is something more going on, but I feel like given how she has been, this fits well with her motives.

The thing is I don’t believe it was really Sundance that Cayde spoke to. She says “I’m what you wanted me to be.” Meaning because Cayde imagined having Sundance there that’s the image this entity took on. I believe he was actually speaking to the traveler using Sundance’s image to speak to him.

No Myelin, the Traveler is NOT the Gardiner, but is perhaps an "Expression" of the Gardener. As much as the Witness is an "Expression" of the Winnower, though I do disagree that the Winnower has no control over the 'cuts' of the First Knife. The Witness claimed autonomy over the means of 'carving', but I ask you, if the Witness was the First Knife in the Winnower's hand, how then does he have control over the use of the blade? It's not his hands doing the whittling, choosing the direction of the cut, the depth of the carve. Perhaps the same is true for the Traveler, it is free to give the 'gift' of the light, and those so inspired to create what they did during the Golden Age, but not free to speak, to offer direction, to guide in the use of the 'gifts' it confers to those it 'chooses'???

I am interested where this whole the traveler is not the Gardner has come from. This something that the lore community has just decided they don't like anymore. The precursor people call it the gardener, and the unveiling lore book was fabricated (likely by the witness).

@@MyelinGames If we accept that both the Gardiner and Winnower are Primordial Forces, that for untold eons played their "Flower Game" where existence has ebbed and flowed but never made 'real' until the Gardiner changed "the rules", and thus the first 'conflict' between the Gardiner and Winnower brought the Universe into being, (And as a side effect also brought THEM into "the game") then within the Universe BOTH would remain of a higher Order, a higher plane of existence, and the universe would remain their playing field. Stands to reason then, that both would have 'proxies' who would excersize something of their 'powers'. Thus the Traveler and the Veil. And both of these would have their "servants" for want of a better term. The Traveler would have (eventually) the Guardians (I am not ignoring all those species 'raised up' by the Light of the Traveler) And the Veil would have the Witness (and all those whom the Witness 'saved via Salvation' I am not ignoring either. in any case, the Lore from the Final Shape reveals to us that the Witness is not the Winnower (and I do take issue with assuming the Title "First Knife") and it also reveals that the Traveler is not the Gardiner, by virtue of it's silence, the reasons FOR that silence and it's suffering, and means of healing. As the Gardiner and the Winnower are beings of equal power the relative 'weaknesses' of both the Traveler and the Witness reveal the truth. Incidentally, strange that in the Final Shape, we hear no more of the Veil (so far) I think the Veil has more to do with the Winnower, and is itself more likely to be that First Knife than the Witness ever was. I understand what you are saying, what I disagree with is you saying "the Traveler is NOT the Gardener". Yes, the Gardener and the Winnower are spoken about as primordial forces, specifically in the Unveiled lore book, but that book and that language we have already been told to not trust. Colloquially, in the Destiny universe many characters refer to the Traveler as the Gardener, because of its ability to grow and terraform. Which is why in this context, with Luzaku inside the Traveler, and saying that they felt the call of the Gardener to this location, it made sense to say "most people think of the Gardener as the Traveler".
