In the raid there is a mural which depicts lubrae (Rhulk’s homeworld) it depicts three little blobs of color, each being blue, orange and green. I think this may be a hit towards potential darkness damage types. (Stasis, Orange stuff Rhulk shoots, Poison)

My best guess for the names would be: Stasis, Blight (poison), and for the orange stuff I would call it just Null which would synergize with Solar, Arc, and Void (get it, null and void)

I think the best part of this amazing expansion is the lore and story! Finally! For like literally the entirety of this franchise, the main plotlines have always been good at best, but the lore was really where it was at, but now, we're getting that type of storytelling and weird crazy world building in the main plots as well. So good.

He more than likely would be a campaign boss, not a raid boss. Bungie stated they want to avoid putting the big name villains as raid bosses to prevent more casual players from being locked out of such a key part of the story. It *kind of* gets contradicted with Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness, as the Vow of the Disciple raid shot the lore forward a shit ton, but at the same time he wasn't so much as mentioned before the raid began. There was no hype to fight him specifically before the raid actually launched.

His brain scan from when he was first made an exo is still in the deep stone crypt, you find it in a mission, but ghost tells you that even if you found a way to do it, you'd have Cayde, the worker from the golden age, not Cayde-6, the guardian. So Cayde as a character is gone for good.

I looved the fact that Savathun's bossfight was a series of "fuck you, i'm not dying yet". She got the guardian tactics down to a T, from camping behind her guardian hive, to kiting around buildings to break line of sight and dodge projectiles, to aping close to you and panic spamming supers. The first phase when she spawns the 3 lightbearers at once felt like a straight up lighthouse match in solo legendary.

To me it seemed very obvious that they cut "Poison" from the Witch Queen. The mission where you get a "new power" has light wells all over it as if you're meant to be testing out a new set of abilities. Just like the other times you got a new subclass, and the next mission had them too while you fought a seemingly worthless boss. Just me though, maybe I'm wrong about that.

My guess, and it's a pretty out there guess, is that we will get the new darkness subclass on the 4th season before lightfall. The first 3 seasons is about fixing the light subclasses then we will get poison in the final one. They probably have most of it finished, just need the extra time to make it not as broken as stasis was in Beyond Light. Just speculation tho.

its been pretty awesome so far. although i am hitting a point of burnout and the same monotonous ways of doing pinnacles is getting old, the content throughout the campaign was absolutely awesome. admittedly, i haven not had a chance to run the raid yet. if im just judging it off of witch queen tho, there is no question its the best expansion theyve done thus far. the legendary campaign alone makes it not a snooze fest, as well as the rewarding gear at the end making my time feel valued. id say ive been semi hardcore about witch queen, havent seriously played in a few days but currently at 1567. while the expansion has been amazing, i feel im gonna fall back into old trends and just play the new content each week (if there is something) and just enjoy it casually.. although i may go after conqueror again since theres some new strikes. sort of out growing gaming but destiny will always be part of me. this expansion brought me back after a 7 month hiatus, and i think ill still be popping in here and there throughout the season. i too feel this is a new beginning for bungie, i expect the last 3 expansions to be great if not better than witch queen with the story actually finally going somewhere. i do hope that savathun returns next year so we can have a continuous storyline, or at least shes involved in some way. my biggest gripe with destiny in general tho? THE VAULT SPACE!!! bungie i am suffocating when i do play lol it is a 2nd job playing inventory management simulator. ive already deleted a bunch of old weapons i swore i wouldnt, i will literally pay in silver to increase vault space. 1000 a page. for the love of god. please lol

@Nick Baise I said the same thing about Destiny doing the misunderstood villain/marvel concept on another video and got massive flack for it. It’s clear as day that Bungie will have all of the races come together to fight the witness. I’m just a little pissed that it took them this long to finally reveal the main villain. I don’t see this as a closing for Destiny but a closing to the light vs dark saga in the Destiny story.

I always thought Oryx looked really cool and had a really cool atmosphere despite him being the weakest sibling. It would be nice to have him back. It would be cool too if this all connected to the Nine because there isn’t a lot known about them. There is also SIVA, that could be a new villain in a future DLC.

I don't know if Oryx was the weakest sibling though, Aurash was the eldest of the three original sisters and it was also Oryx that would come up with the plan that would lead to the slaying of the worm god Akka, which required the death of the other two sisters to begin with to grow stronger via the Sword Logic. We've seen in the story probably the actions of his brood (Omnigul, Crota, Nokris if you want to still count him & Hashladun the most) followed by Savathun's hive so far. They're all strong in their own ways, and we should remember it was a guardian fireteam that took him down compared to Savathun. Whether it's something to do with Touch of Malice, Resurrection which Nokris dabbled in, or one of the other sisters invoking his 'nature' he could come back I feel maybe. Xivu Arath and Savathun had both died and Oryx brought them back by an act of war and deception respectively at an earlier time. Either way the hive are my favourite faction and I can't wait to see more of Savathun & Xivu Arath eventually. A season with Siva is something that would have been cool, but based on the current direction of the story by this point I don't see there being time for it until maybe the whole Light and Dark saga is finished. Nessus would be the place that would have made the most sense for it because of the crashed Exodus Black ship and there were hints that Siva could have been present if I recall.

You make several good points, and now that I think about it did take a fireteam of 6 to kill Oryx and even then it was hard, but with Savathun you just needed 1. Though we still haven’t seen Xivu Arath yet. I like the fallen the best in my opinion. The Hive still has a really cool concept though

@@moth3349 Ty, for an even shorter answer than my original, I just think with his title of 'The Navigator' it really implied he really helped keep the Hive together with a purpose and again he was the first to acquire the power to Take (although physically Xivu I would say is probably still strongest being their God of War afterall, and Savathun the wisest). I really like all the races but the hive are just my favourite with how much interesting lore they got. Lightfall is I bet when they'll reveal Xivu Arath. We definitely need to see more of all of the other races though, I'm thinking in the smaller seasons we'll see figures like Eramis again, The Fanatic, Calus, definitely Savathun and maybe even Siva again in time.

The veist foundry has always had green tint over its bullet trails. I doubt this has anything to do with that. Krait, stasis veist weapon has green, and funnelweb, void veist has it too. So does every other veist foundry weapon.

In the Warlock raid gauntlets The Witness (or Rhulk) talks about Oryx as if he's still alive. It's a small line and guess you can choose to read it that way, but that's how I read it. Also the power to move planets is an extreme version of Oryx's Taking power, kinda implied in the recent lore.

Witch Queen is a 10 for me it is a fantastic expansion and I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign! I cannot wait for to see what is in store for us with Solar & Arc 3.0 which will probably release over the course of the year and maybe we'll see a 5th super ability in next year's expansion! I really like the design of The Witness. In a world where 4 armed bug aliens are pretty normal, something like The Witness seems so very alien and out of place which is very fitting. He's very uncanny valley.

It feels like he's mocking the humanoid form, rather than that he is one. The upward flow of souls out of his head clearly indicates that none of his body is real, he's not manifesting a constant stream of new flesh from his skull constantly - so it's an illusion of some kind. It also gives his silhouette the hourglass double-triangle shape, which is a great touch.

Weird thing about the disappeared planets I haven't had the time to explore just yet: Sometimes, in the Vanguard Playlist, you will be put into some year one missions. Like, the regular missions from year one. If you can recall, back in year one when doing missions on other planets, you'd rarely be put into a unique instance, with the missions taking place in the free roam environment on the planets surface, having you instead go off into a unique environment from there. These free roam areas are still part of the missions, I was even able to talk to Failsafe and get some armor from her during one of the missions on Io just the other day, for example. This lead me to a hypothesis: The planets, from a technical server side of things, are still there. They are still hooked up, just taken out of the menu because the servers wouldn't be able to handle guardians actually free roaming every single location all at once. As you say, memory issues. BUT! I am wondering, if you took some time away from actually doing these missions when they crop up, could one still explore these planets? And what happens if someone goes into the next sector of a planet, would the enemies still spawn? Would Public Events still occur? These are things I haven't tested yet, because I've been joining other random players, but I do plan on getting a fireteam together for this express purpose.

Aside from the Darkness the only thing I want now is for Shin Malphur to make an appearance at some point, give him a season to finally make an appearance like season of dawn Saint-14. Some say he’s retired but he’s mentioned time and time again by drifter who he’s also keeping a watchful eye on regarding their history. There’s a lot of things that align with his best interests like how there’s guardians wielding stasis, hive light bearers and the darkness is knocking at our door.

More of the Witnesses subordinates showing up. What or who the traveler truly is and can it be trusted because remember it would have ran away from us if it wasn't wounded.

Yea I totally agree with what you said , I am loving the expansion so far, I also like the way they made the artefact fully available now instead of getting up to 100.000 glimmer for resets by the end of each season 😂. I also love the void 3.0 but it’s probably Gona get nurfed a bit, or they might just keep it as is until the next light subclasses 3.0s come around, the artefacts are definitely playing a huge part in the power of our characters and that’s a change that no one seams to talk about . I still think the armor mod system needs work and I hope Crucible gets some love in the future too.

On the subject of what's inside the traveler, the mural of lubrae depicts the traveler as having a smaller mechanical looking core within it which I'm pretty sure is the first time we've ever been shown what might be inside the traveler. I hope that bungie does a poll for which planet to unvault. So I ask to everyone, which of the three planets do you want unvaulted: Io, Titan or Mercury. Personally I would choose Io because if Bungie is smart they could implement the ruins of the whisper mission as an easter egg or memento while also showing the ruins of the pyramidion.

I remember when I thought up the idea of bane a darkness based Gass subclass. Gas grenades poison melee and supers. I didn't actually realise that it was potentially coming. Ps I'd be happy with either wrath of machine or kings fall. They're both awesome raids

I've played Destiny since the beta release. This is the very first campaign that I haven't absolutely dreaded doing again on my other characters. And I don't even think the other campaigns were bad per se. But I thoroughly enjoyed the Witch Queen campaign all 3 times. It was the first campaign that didn't have unnecessary busy work in-between every 2 missions. It has a good, steady pace all the way through. Great job by Bungie on this one. (Legendary difficulty was also a massive improvement as you mentioned)

what I want to know is, who was Mara sov speaking too during the Of Queens quest when you do the worm. she gets interrupted by an unknown entity due to how dialogue progressed and its clear it wasnt the witness. also whats happening with Rasputin? when he got yoinked last year we got no explanation on that (we assumed it was the darkness) but was it in fact the traveller using it as a form of communication?

A thing that fascinates me is that the witness speaks with a lot of voices, also his afterimage effect is very strange along with the heads he has forming in the smoke he produces. It feels like instead of being one thing he is a conglomerate or something

Well bungie pretty much confirmed more darkness subclasses because at some point I think they said stasis wouldn’t be the only darkness subclass and that they wanted to have three to match up with the light subclasses and we will probably see two more darkness subclasses with lightfall and the final shape

When she references the kinds resurrection, it's a teaser for kings fall raid. Edit: I watched the video lol I feel like the plot of the king coming back would be moshy with the witness center stage. Unless the queen and king become allies then I could see that. Eventually I know for sure that every race will become one and fightback the dark. Maybe not the vex since those machines don't really think for rhemselves.

I think the game has a lot more to give - it was referenced in the campaign that our destiny lies beyond the solar system- so we might be down to one villain now but if we follow the traveler to a diff system, new enemies will follow too

I truly think as we can see as he enters that room. He has endless faces smoking from atop his skull. He mocked us in the Shaowkeep final scene as simply being us. I think he can perhaps alter his appearance to a variety of choices at will of races he has turned to the Darkness. He acquired Rhulk as a follower, imagine all the other endless races Darkness has captured in its endless existence. We never knew anything of the Lubrae at any point in time, lore wise to my knowledge in Destiny history until ending of the Vow Raid. Rhulk just pops up as a boss and we accept it cause the possibilities are endless when dealing with an entity that has existed for millennia. This game can endure and go beyond the Light & Dark Saga honestly. Sony & Bungie together can explore The Golden Age, The Collapse, etc. as media if done correctly. Movie, TV Series, etc. It's def exciting the possibilities we have where Destiny goes.

Just finished the raid (figured out the Caretaker way too late into the race). So the difficulty of that has been watered down, but after hard mode comes out, that'll bring back the difficulty. The campaign, the void changes, the overall story progression is the best its ever been. I also think the raids have taken a big leap and I hope they keep the 24 hour contest on the weekends (a weekend contest mode to kick it off would be cool too for us older folks lol) I can honestly say, even though there's still a lot to uncover and reveal, this is probably my favorite expansion. Definitely looking forward to seeing what The Witness has in store, whether it's new locations, subclasses, or pulling out random races/his own race for us to fight

Having great time though my vault is aching and I am constantly having to shuffle gear and infuse things up. Cleared around 125 slots before this expansion and it's almost full again. Grinded all 3 characters up in levels. Hotfix just came out so will see how challenging doing more crafting will be. Have not completed raid yet but looking forward to making it further.

doing the campaign the first time on legendary, oh boy that was a pain, the final boss was so difficult, it was pretty stressful but definitely more enjoyable struggling through it but the moment you switch to doing it on normal and its like you went from doing a GM/Raid to doing a normal campaign.

People fail to realize that the witness isn’t supposed to look like a big scary dude. Based off what we’ve seen of him and the lore, he’s isn’t trying to be scary. He’s trying to appear relatable and familiar. He’s supposed to appear humanlike but also look otherworldly. It’s the same reason he replicated our appearance in shadowkeep. He isn’t trying to intimidate us, he’s trying to recruit us.

We should not be able to kill the witness. Not in a mission, not in a strike, not in a raid. He is guaranteed the most powerful thing we've seen in this game yet and it's not even close. Killing him through gameplay would be a massive letdown.

I mean, from the travelers perspective? Maybe not. But make no mistake, had she succeded, the city would've been left completely defenseless and would probably fall basically immediately. Our allegiance is to the city, not the traveler.

From the light's point of view? She and her hive were the replacement for humanity, just like humanity was the replacement for the eliksni. The traveler decided that Savathun and her throne world was safer that earth and ditched us. This gives the theory that the only reason the traveler stayed after the collapse was because Rasputing crippled it a lot more plausability.

witch queen was a blast. played the campaign on legendary from the start and i agree the final boss fight with savathuun felt way too easy for a chatacter of her reputation. i think i beat her on my first try if not my second.
