Can't stand these companies that offer to send you products for you to "just do a review" on their product. There seems to be a certain level of delusion on their behalf when it comes to the cost and time it takes to make content and build an audience on youtube.

They have lots of high-powered lawyers and executives; they aren't doing it as part of delusion. They are just hoping you don't know any better. For each time one of those letters gets a "free" review, THAT executive gets a bonus or raise for having bamboozled a newbie.

I wish I knew that when my channel was that size. I was getting robbed. $100? I took it and figured it was better than nothing. But now on my actual channel (this is just personal channel) I'm getting exponentially more. I'm glad they made this website, because it's such an incredibly difficult world to figure out. No one talks about how much they make, or how to structure these deals. So thanks guys! Big help! If you are one of those smaller channels... seriously listen! You are worth more than that free product, or $100 for a 60 spot. Demand more, if you don't get it, find someone else.

A good starting point is asking for $50 per 1000 views you get on average. I charge less for products we already like and/or use (They're easier to incorporate and appear natural) and more for products that we generally wouldn't use but our audience might like. I refuse reshoots unless they want to pay more for production costs.

The only issue i see is when some creators gets over 100,000 subscribers, they tend to take away from their viewers by not showing a certain tool because they are not getting paid for it, which in the end, discourages the viewer because that viewer is watching that particular video to LEARN how to do something.

I just started using Social Bluebook and it really gave me an idea of where to start when working with brands. Putting all the numbers together really makes it easy to help build a portfolio. On any paid deal is it required to say it is sponsored in the video or can that just be a pop up on screen?

Here's my thing... I used to work for a certain company that has about the same reach of a micro level influencer. They were able to get companies to sponsor dedicated videos over $75K per video. I sincerely believe that going by what others influencers do is a major mistake. Influencers do have a tendency to under value their worth.

This is absolutely spot on! Creators get WAY too hung up on their views, subs and AdSense. With less than 600 subs I am making really good money with my channel and if the ratio holds as subs increase then I can pay all my home bills with just a few thousand subs. It is MUCH better to cut out the middle man and find those sponsors, advertisers & affiliates (especially local) themselves rather than rely on a network that takes a percentage. PLUS, when you sell yourself (or your channel) to that company/business, you create a relationship directly which betters the experience by leaps and bounds.

After looking through the comments, here's some advice. The companies looking to promote products aren't your enemy. You should be looking for meaningful relationships. Sometimes, in the getting to know each other process, you might not get what you feel you are worth at first. The market needs to find out what you are worth to it, also. So, putting out comments with phrases such as "Can't stand these companies..." isn't going to help your cause.
