I have never seen any wheel lower than 78a since the late 70s. Rule of Thumb... 78a to 83a are for outdoor, Durometer 83a and up strictly indoor

@mirandamartinez81076 жыл бұрын
Nesspie31 I personally use the brand Mini Logo, which is owned by Bones. I use their Hybrid 90a 55mm wheels (larger wheels are available). They are skateboard wheels but they work just as great, actually better. You can get them from skateboarding websites or Amazon for around $30 for an 8 pack of wheels.

Honestly? Get a second pair of skates. It's easier than switching out wheels all the time....especially if you skate a lot! I've got a set for my local rink, another for the rink on the other side of town, a pair for the skate parks, a pair for cruising around town/hitting the local tennis court, and I'm now working on a pair (shoe build, cheaper than a full skate) that I can use for indoor dance. I'll also be getting another pair (first high boot I'll have had in over 12 years) for distance and outdoor dance.

I was curious if anyone knew, but i was debating on taking 57mm 94a aggressive inline skates to my local rink which has pure wooden floors. Just curious if these would be good for that or should i use them strictly for ramps? Or would it just be easier to rent a pair of skates from the rink?

I'll be skating on a concrete running track in my park and in NYC streets. What type of wheel do I need?
@elleyj17544 жыл бұрын
I have skated on Atom Poisons on (painted) concrete and they were real nice. I have used them on a rougher surface such as asphalt and they were still pretty good, just bumpier since there is less shock absorbance. For asphalt I love the Atom Pulse outdoor wheels because they ride smoother on that bumpy surface. I have also been trying out the Atom Boom wheels (firm-pink) and they are ridiculously good on concrete, sport court, coated wood, and I've even briefly rolled in them on asphalt and they are good on all surfaces. I hope you've found wheels you like.

As long as you start with a skate marked around $80 (U.S.) or more. Roller skates are one thing you DO get what you pay for. Cheap skates aren't good and good skates aren't cheap. But, yes...change the wheels and you can skate wherever you want. :) 70A (if you can find them) to 78A is great for bumpy paths, asphalt, anywhere there are lots of smaller twigs, pebbles, gravel, sand, or slightly uneven sidewalks. 82A to 85A is good for skate parks and other outdoor flat surfaces (parking lots, tennis courts, basketball courts, etc.), as well as most street skating surfaces (other than asphalt).

I just bought a new pair of Bauers and it will be the first time I have converted a pair of ice skates. I skate both indoors and outdoors at the park once spring hits (properly). My last skates came with wheels. I'm confused on what to get to suit both surfaces.

Hello. I live in Cherry Valley, Il. Does anyone have any suggestions for good outdoor wheels/bearings. I just bought a pair of Size 12 Chicago 8601K I believe. They have 805 wheels. I do not know the size of them yet. Or bearing size. I want skates that grip the streets well enough so you do not slide, and that let you ride over small pebbles and twigs and cracks, without launching into space. Any advice? Edit: The skates themselves are also 805s according to Chicago. 8601K is the lot number.

If your skating outside, your gonna want a soft wheel. The most common hardness seems be 78a. I’ve been using Bont Jesa Black bearings & they are really good! There are cheaper options out there too, but you get what you pay for. Happy Skating!

I have a hybrid with indoor and outdoor. Will it still work outside? Or should i get an outside wheel
@Devaskation6 жыл бұрын
A hybrid wheel will function just fine outdoors on a smooth concrete or sport court. If you plan on skating more on asphalt, or for longer distances, we would definitely suggest a true outdoor wheel. Either the Atom Pulse or the Radar Energy wheels are great options for outdoors wheels ;)

Get gummier, softer wheels for outdoors. These roll right over twigs and pebbles and even cracks in the road, instead of stopping you suddenly and launching you into space.

@MystiqueRisingSun5 жыл бұрын
Anything with a durometer of 78A. When outdoors, the only difference in size is really how far you can roll after a single push....larger wheel = longer distance. So, the size is really up to you.
