Judging from the scenes and voice lines, seems like Kiryu initially tries to take them by himself as he's still stubborn about carrying the burden by himself. However, it becomes apparent that it's no longer possible given his condition, so the others step in.

Honestly it doesn't make much sense to "test the team" imo because it has already happened once and they did prove they were strong and loyal at the Omi scene. If the jimas bro's are actually concerned about kiryu:s party. Testing it really doesn't help with anything. They might just wanna go tag along with him.

No, At some point of the game you switch to kiryu when he’s in ijincho after he leaves Hawaii, so it will switch back and forth from Hawaii to ijincho then prob end in kamurocho

Nah I'm pretty sure we will switch back and forth between Kiryu and Ichiban. He'll be in Ichiban's party in Hawaii in the beginning then he'll return to Japan and do his own thing with his own party and in the finale both parties meet up and converge in front of the Millennium Tower

from the demos and trailers it seems that ijincho is just the tutorial and a few cutscenes of the beginning to set the plot, then most of the game will be in hawaii and the final chapters in kamurocho

About 12:38 - I think it's just a flashback. He shoots Hoshino, puts a pistol on the table, and calls Ryo Aoki. After they're done talking, Ichiban rushes inside and sees Sawashiro waiting for him.

Somebody put it like this - for those that are not showing any potential spoilers at all, the idea is "I want to be surprised when I find out". For those that do show them, the idea is "So this is where we all end up? How the heck did we get to this point?" and the fun starts from there.

The whole part with Majima and Daigo (and probably Saejima) vs the party looks insane, I can't wait for it. I can't really imagine why they're fighting but... someone else said that maybe they're testing the party to see if they're strong enough to protect Kiryu, now that he's not as strong as he once was.

With where they are and what Ebina is up to, my guess is that this is their final testing ground. Daigo and the rest know that Kasuga can hold his own,they just gotta make sure the "weakest links" are up to par. Especially since its very obvious that Ebina is gonna for everyone involved with the dissolution.

@@Toe-collector It should be a difficulty spike and not a level spike, which the fight in 7 was both. First thing for me that comes to mind is Cid's fight in FFXIII, which was the first boss where I actually had to learn how to play the game in order to progress.

I thought Majima was the only kinda challenging boss in 7. Otherwise Amon/final tower were the only real grind. Then again I already did a lot of the side content before I fought Majima instead of rushing the story.

I feel for a while now but eng sub sometimes added or discarded something from the Japanese dub (probably obvious for some of you guys). Like in Sawashiro phone call, he never mentioned Masato in the JPN trailer ("Waka") as in eng dub. Also I'm not sure why (I have a knick in Japanese but can't translate the whole conversation) but most people suspect Ebina is the one that "did that" and not Sawashiro. Can't wait to see how the story folds.

Even most of the characters was presents un Y7,and their stories been told . This is still a lot of casts involved. Either the game is pretty long or many of them get like one episode centered around them,then stay around to comments here and there along other plots.

Same, I dont *hate* Yongyea's dub, i think it's just gonna take some getting used to after 7 games of only JP voices. However, i really dislike Yong's attitude towards this, like he can't seem to keep a lid on his ego because he landed a big role. Comes off as arrogant, and leaves a bad taste on it all (i know, I know, separate artist and art and all, but it's a bit difficult when the 'artist' is flaunting the art like he's god's gift to humanity)

I hope to fucking god it's a Kiryu boss fight, since this game is strongly leaning into Kiryu either dying or exiting stage left and what better way in passing that fire by Kiryu getting his first defeat by the person who will carry the franchise forward.
