The Blue Ridge Mountains appear blue due to a natural phenomenon where trees release a chemical called isoprene into the atmosphere. This chemical scatters blue light from the sun, creating the characteristic blue haze that gives the mountains their name. I live in viewing distance of this beautiful range and paint it quite often myself

AH yes, I tend to use a few for loose inspiration but my paintings rarely end up following closely, hence why I dont tend to share them as it can be more confusing.

Lovely! I too live right in this glorious- ness in the high country of western North Carolina in Avery county. Grandfather Mountain back profile is my everyday view. We vacationed here for so many years that we finally decided to retire here. Best decision ever! Love this tutorial and will definitely try my own version.
