As soon as I heard the bong during the test drive I knew it was 30FF. My beloved 535 I bought with only 30k miles on it started throwing that code after I already spent over $10k on repairs and maintenance in 2 years. I still miss that car every day. Shop quoted me $5k to replace the turbos so she had to go. I’ve wanted another N54 ever since. Thanks again for the great info and entertainment!

those spots on the hood might be sap from a tree. You could try to polish them out if that doesn’t work if recommended a few things. 1 goo gone and a heat gun. or 2000 grid sand paper IF you have a strong compound. it’s not hard to remove with a decent compound and a machine polisher !

Hey great to see the next chapter! I was pleasantly surprised by the answering of my last comments. Sweet. I wish I could give you advice as you're going through this thing. I guess I should get in touch as you suggested. So even though I'm too late to help here I'll tell you that you certainly didn't "Need" to replace the whole line as they tell you in INPA. They sell a tapered adapter you can use on it if anyone really wants to make sure they have it done right. However none of it is really needed. That new sensor works just fine and doesn't leak at all even if just put in just like the old one. Just MAKE SURE you use the O ring the old one had! By the way where are your vacuum bottles?? You're missing the vacuum canisters that go beside the coolant tank. That's what the vacuum lines should be running to from the brake booster lines then to the boost Solenoids. Solenoids are often a source of no boost on these too. Never buy the cheap ones on ebay. There are a lot of cheap things that are okay to buy on there but those aren't one (First hand experience speaking here lol). Use Boost canisters are fine. They are plastic and seem to hold up well for the most part. I'm excited to see you're work on the new Turbos!! I think those might be the same 17T's I have on mine. I'm now (After custom tuning from JSR) plus all the bolt ons etc) Running around 630WHP. Which is pretty much the edge of safe for the Automatic ZF trans. Can't wait to watch the next one! Thank you!

Awesome video and subscribed. Was wondering if you knew what would make an oil cooler, high pressure fuel pump to become very hot to the touch? My X1 is not running hot, nor is the oil temp too high but the outside surface temperature of those items including the bottom mating trim of the cylinder head is really hot to the touch in a quick drive to the store., also smoking some from tail pipe and exhaust manifold next to the cylinder head. Not sure what's up with her
@DayOffDIY7 ай бұрын
If it’s smoking next to the valve cover, the valve cover is probably leaking onto the cylinder head. I wouldn’t be too concerned about the surfaces being hot to the touch, it doesn’t sound out of the ordinary, it’s amazing how hot these cars will get once they warm up

@@DayOffDIY Well I just replaced the valve cover gasket not too long ago with an Elring gasket I haven't noticed it leaking since, nor have I noticed any oil leaking on the turbo manifold, but it's smoking a little bit out of the tail pipe and up from the manifold for a reason. Did a block test for the head gasket but the fluid stayed blue in color so that was a relief.
