I love me some Prince Rodgers Nelson. His band the Revloution, and NPG were his best bands. Diamonds & Pearls was a fantastic cd etc. It was a mixture of rap, gospel, r&b, and funk. Prince was a musical genius. Thank you Eloy for your commentary. God bless you! RIP Prince! Miss you so much!🙏💜🎶💯

No. Just no with the rap. Tony M sucked...horribly. I was 16 when it came out. I was about 5 years into my love for Prince's music. I thought then, and still do, that Prince could do a LOT, A LOT, but every bit of rap that was ever incorporated absolutely sucked. Most rappers were established and had their own sound. Tony M was shoe-horned in. None of the songs that charted from D&P had rap. And I don't think of Gett Off as rap (best song on the album imho).

It wasn’t the fact that the rap was good. It was more that he tried it and that was mind blowing to have an artist of his caliber incorporate rap in his music. That gett off video helped a lot too.

@@droppinjewelz9060 This was the era when movies had a rap song at the end credits trying to be relevant. Prince was no different. Although good albums, D&P & Lovesymbol would've been great albums without the rap.

The album sucked. From setting trends FU attitude to following trends Disappointing, Get off is the best song and it’s pure funk ROCK. Cream was an ok little song. The rest is subpar or annoyingly
