Dick is absolutely correct about live shows needing to be special. A 20 person live show is just a random night at a bar with live music. If all you do is the normal show but live no one will care. I haven't been able to go a live show for TDS but every live show I get hyped because it gets crazy. Other podcasts? I skip their live show uploads because its usually awful.

Not to side with Vito, but Bamboozled is a great movie everybody should tune in for that one. Paul Mooney plays a road hard comedian Junebug that is one of the darkest scenes i ever seen in a movie.

I think Vito just wants to do different things to try and grow the show. Vito also kept shutting down the call to prayer bit, and then shut down the weigh-in bit. Though I remember Dick pushing back on merchandise pretty hard, but I'm pretty happy with the shirts that have been coming out. Always divisive!

The live shows are fun for the people there but they're pretty much always shit radio and suck for anyone who just wants to keep up with the show. The audio quality is bad, there's assholes in the audience trying to yell out and participate but you can't even hear them for better or for worse, there's usually more reliance on visual things, etc.
