Just bought it. Apparently it’s 39.99 on steam right now. Wasn’t it 49.99 or 59.99 on release? Totally saved it. A free FULL GAME update. I like HISTORICAL full total war games. Never bought any of the saga games EVER. Bought 3 kingdoms and refunded it. Last good total war for me was Atilla. I was TOTALLY going to skip on Pharoe because it was a saga game through and through and the magical/god component thing? 🤢🤮 bought it yesterday and I’m very pleasantly surprised! Whoo hoo! Only thing I could ask for now is mods.

Dynasties is honestly so fun. The battles are still a way off Rome and Medieval 2's but they're definitely better than Rome 2's for me. Lethality is the single best thing they have added in the last 10 years. Dynasties has gone in a direction of adding things that historical players value. It's genuinely great for us that still play Rome, Medieval 2 and Shogun 2. CA still have work to do to bring me back as a true fan but they've done a huge W with Dynasties ❤️

One good thing does not make up for all of the bad,and just to add this is not like a big like thing,this was how the game was supposed to be released at the start,they should stop cutting corners,stop thinking of the total war series(which are mainly sigle player games) as a live service games,what is needed is finished products without too much DLC bullshit and insane changes and predatory tactics,they do not care,they realized they were losing money and are trying to backtrack until they can try again. Warhammer fans are very new, mostly the demographic are young consumers who barely have spending power and is no way as close as the amount of historic fanbase. While historic fanbase are the still the bigger volume, they are still the bigger revenue than warhammer fans.

Wrath of Sparta DLC - great; Throne of Britannia as "full game" -- scam -- both has the same amount of content. Most "saga" are scam; they should all just be a cheap DLC. No.! Just No... The problem with Total War is not what you described and can't be resolved bu a release like that. It's fundamental. It's the engine, it's principles , it's mechanics and the spirit that has deceased decades ago... It's a mobile game disguised as a pc, it's a paper rock siccors game disguised as a grand startegy/tactics game. UI is a cluster fuck for a decade now, armies/units smaller than ever before, you just stare at floating icons in the battlefield...😅 Pathfinding is ridiculous, they make magnificent vista's on a battlefield but you can walk through certain paths usually so formationa are not maintained and all battles conclude to a brwall agfo all units making a huge ball... And qbout 1001 more problems I don't mention now... The only good thing modern TW gives is graphics. Nothing else... This release...this is just a show... A sweet frosting over a rotten cake... 1000 times better to play Rome 1 or Me2TW molded than play an title from Rome 2 until now...

It is so so so soooooo god to see a win for historical. Since 3k was bagged, it has been nothing but disapointments after disapointment, and fantasy after fantasy, it is so good to see ttw go back to historical and to good battles. It feels almost like it was all bad dream, and that all the games we are going to get are going to be on this level or even better. Just hope they don't fumble the ball, and waste all of the good will they just gained with Dynasties.

For me i was a Fan of Total war since Rome and Medieval II. I really wanted to like Troy and Pharaoh but i couldn´t. But when i saw the review of early Dynastie players, i was finaly convinced to buy Pharaoh on Steam. It really puts me back to those days when followed my family Tree and Realm over the Years, it is the proper Bronze Age Total War game that i wanted. Overall its been a great update, a couple of patches will also go a long way in helping with bugs(idkw but ive had one every few turns either on the campaign map or the battle map) and im looking forward to pharaohs future

I love that they added things that should have been innovated on years ago such as 1. Direct versus arced fire 2. ability for units to fight through enemy units to advance to a point, pushing forward 3. ability for units to fighting retreat, pulling back while still facing the enemy. This, including past innovations such as mixed missile and melee in the same unit from TW3K, should be in every title going forward. Lethality/instakill should be in every game and should have never been removed following shogun 2. Get rid of the HP system, period. Missile units firing on enemies with no LOS should be wildly innacurate volleys. In other words The core battle side of the game should be the most well honed part of the game. This is a bugatti, not a honda.

I've already completed two campaigns, whereas I almost always got bored in the campaign in some of the more recent TW games. Lethality is incredible too, definitely encourages you to be a bit more strategic with your choice of units.

The less said about the original Pharaoh the better, but Dynasties in its current state is a lot of fun, especially if you're into the time period. Super underappreciated time period compared to classical Greece or the Rise of Rome. Yes of course I would love an Empire 2 or Medieval 3 but just enjoy Dynasties now while it's fresh. It's the Bronze Age total war a lot of us have always wanted but thought would never happen. I recall Bronze Age mods on some of the older historical titles like Rome 2. Well... now you have it, except it's a lot more complex than Rome 2 with actual faction intrigue and economic management to go along with fun battles and factions

Well I will still be salty about having bought 3 Warhammer games and like half the DLCs and still having Races, Lords and even units locked away behind paid DLC's in TW Warhammer. They spit in the faces of their customers with Chaos Dwarves and Shadows of Change. There is a way to do DLC right and its not the Paradox style that CA and Sega have adopted.

Dynasties is what we as historical Total war fans needed to get. It is the first step back. A promise, that CA can still make good historical Total Wars, that are not just Warhammer clones. Dynasties is not perfect, but for what it is, it offers great playable experience and I just hope, that CA finally recognizes, that their foundations laid with old Total Wars is what really made them stick the mark on the industry. Warhammer might be the richest, the most successful, and the most expansive Total War, but what made Total War a great Total War are the classics like Rome 1, Medieval 2, Empire or Shogun 2.

Loving the game, one thing that surprised me is the ai is actually pretty competent, even the siege ai which is something ive never seen in the series. Also to the people who still think medevial 2 is the best, if you play this and think the ai is worse, buddy your smoking something crazy. How can this game be admired, it's some arcade wankery. All the depth is gone, warhammer and that better, graphics shooting rainbow in the eyes, some cartoon like Chinese Total War, the series finally degraded, no depth and the fact that it all a lot of people like, the development of the series is not worth expecting. To think this add-on is free of charge and for nothing is naive, and shows bias because it was done just the same for financial gain, look at the sales of the game after this marketing move! And the story is about some kind of gratuitous kindness, you say yourself that all this time pumped money, and now sharply like that, what a nonsense, this does not happen, the goal is still the same financial gain, it seems that you are just a person of interest, if you ignore such obvious things!

This big free update is a step in the right direction, but it wasn't a game that people wanted. If they really invest in a huge scale Medieval 3 or Rome 2, without the manipulating company crap. They will get back their name with gamers. But they won't do that, they want fast development for maximum profit. There will be more titles that players didn't ask for, plus overcharged for it. The main focus will be on something other than Medieval 3 or Rome 2, like a Star Wars or something else. Cut out content on release and half the game in the DLC. That's what CA are now, they are about maximizing profit by scamming the players. It's good they didn't go down the microtransaction route, but it's just as bad to cut out content on day one, plus put the rest of the games development in DLC packages. They won't change.

I gave it a go, its good, and very very detailed I find the missile meta is a bit too strong until u get cavalry at least === I really really wish that CA would make a TW game that is actually not historical, but also not fantastical where I can 'design' units and each AI team is doing the same Like I might unlock Roman style shields, allowing good projectile protection and specific formations at the cost of mobility for example whereas someone else might choose the higher mobility of the roundshield, doing more shieldwall style Maybe I'll research a professional military force at higher tiers, perhaps I'd stay with a levied force etc. Rather than being stuck in a particular culture, I'd love to just see a fictional blank canvas evolve itself. Like 2 ai factions might fight, and change as a result, with one being more cavalry based turning its opponent more cavalry or spear based over time All depending on unlocked technology, choices and what their economy can support CA games touch this in their current form, but its still all in a very specific streams where you only unlock what that culture had in history

Its depressing to see the total war series go so low as Pharo, the game is bad and if you like it hey I'm not gonna fight you on it that's just my opinion , but! when the game you released in 2011 (shogun 2) has better gameplay, more impressive graphics( relative to the age ) and a DLC that in its own right could have been a game of its own. should we be praising a company for meeting the bare minimum. while its nice to see a total war game do good I'm not seeing to many old players returning i haven't bought a new total war game since Warhammer 2, i managed to play three dynasty's which while enjoyable is unplayable after your first 12 hours due to how repetitive it becomes, my point being CA has done nothing but use there player bases loyalty and hope to profit off of horrible games and i don't believe this company will make a game as good or as innovative as there 2000s lineup.

I don't see what the 'big improvement ' is. They slapped two of their crap games together and that somehow equals a good game? I do like that they can run big maps, and want a pike and shot redo of empire total war as that game was so bad I can't make it more than 20-50turns without a corrupted save that bricks my game.

Crashes too much for me. Brand new PC. No problems with other games. Not sure what the issue is. Rome 2 works fine. Heck I do not even crash on Helldivers2
