nostalgia still hurts man
Digimon has all these arena games, but none of them are like... game of the year material. A lot of them are exactly what you'd expect: fun with friends. Of course they say the same thing about Mario Party so I'm not sure that's a compliment.
Anyway, enjoy this romp in the digital world, rife with digivolution, weird combat systems, and dumb fun.

I've played all these game and i definitely agree that Rumble arena 2 was the most fun even though i would always loose because my friends were much better . It still has much room for improvement though . Give me Rumble Arena 3 or Agumon is Smash !

I would buy it. Presentation wouldn't be an issue at all and if it has the same speed as the other games Arc System has done then it's already good. They just need to figure out how to incorporate digivolution into it. Seeing as they seem to always get the music right with their games I imagine a game like this having some kickass music.

While Melee gives much more control, Brawl is definitely the smoother of the 2 for those who are uninitiated. If you have a lack of knowledge of competitive Smash though, Brawl is definitely smoother and more natural feeling. That said, tripping is still ass.

Rumble Arena 1 was the game I spent the most time with on this list by a long shot. And you're right- it's jank, the rookies all suck, the balance is terrible and a lot of the arena are agony. But that soundtrack has earned itself a permanent spot in my brain- the saxophones, electric guitars and covers of anime themes in the OST give the game a very unique and in-your-face soundtrack, and it remains a top favorite of mine from across the whole franchise.

If they kept all properties of RB1 and just revamped it, RB2 would've been a great sequel. RB1 had better specials and voice acting, and impacts, like I felt like I was being damaged and chipped away. They needed a more expansive character selection. They added more s1 characters but sacrificed Renamon and Impmon? Two of the best characters in RB1.

I like the simple mechanics of the Digimon Battle Spirit 1 and 2. I think simple fighting games is a untapped market. Sometimes people just want something they can have fun and play and don't want to spend hours learning. I like Battle Spirit 2 the best out of the handheld series. I also like rumble Arena 1 and 2.

Rumble Arena 2 was awesome. Sadly I got it for my Gamecube around the time said gamecube was having issues. On the plus side, I still own the game to this day. All Star Rumble was indeed a disappointment. I liked the 3D exploration and combat, but it was far too clunky and the foes were not balanced with all the characters you can play as, leading to damn near unbeatable segments (such as the final pathway with gabumon).

Digimon Rumble Arena for the PSX was the shit. The 3D Graphics was amazing and the fighting mechanic was simple but awesome to see Wargreymon toss that large ball of energy and blast them off the arena.

When I was 10, i tried my hardest to look for Digimon Rumble 2 on the gamecube(only console I had at the time i think the year was 2006) and could never find it anywhere except online. it was always above $10 above retail price. I never bought it because my parent didn't like buying stuff for me online or if there's was a cheaper alternatives

Man Digimon Rumble Arena 2 was the best. I remember as a kid that I was only allowed to play video games on weekends, I would spend days just reading the manual until I could play it. My favorite thing to do was to play as Gabumon, digivolve into Garurumon and just use his slamming attack.

I felt obligated to buy the 360 arena game when it came out because Digimon was pretty dead in the west at the time. Even though it was obvious shovelware. Pretty happy that things have picked up in the west for the franchise again.

Hello super ultra Digimon Rumble Arena 2 nerd here. At 8:25 you said that in DRA2 digivolving makes your character better, it's true that most characters get much stronger, but Gatomon goes from being one of the games strongest characters to being useless when she digivolves. Cool video tho!

The hate for Rumble Arena 1, man, that made me sad haha. The game is great. Personally it is by far my favourite Digimon Fighting Game, and I would honestly argue it is one of the more unique. There is a small competitive scene for the game in New Zealand (where I'm from), and in Japan who have tournaments for it fairly regularly which can be found on youtube. I've been making a big guide for the game over the past few years, and have uploaded plenty of videos on the game. So, while I'm 100% bias, I definitely think there's lots of enjoyment and depth to it. If you, or anyone wants to try give the game another chance feel free to check out my guide or videos :D . But yeah man, this video was really enjoyable. It's good to see a youtuber with a decent following showing off the Digimon Fighting Games haha, even if I don't agree with some of your opinions on them.

now i am interested i think renamon is pretty high tier as diamond storm has good coverage but diamond storm also is the easiest to guard as the chip damage is pretty low at long distance

Star Scorpia Yeah Renamon is top tier. Her mobility is a huge advantage allowing her to run away and get items really easily. And as you said, diamond storm is a good projectile, that helps her zoning play style a lot. The Japanese players rate her like 2nd best from the unevolved Digimon, with Gatomon being top tier. Personally I’d put Renamon in the top 4 or 5 behind Guilmon, Gatomon, and Gabumon, with Agumon being about as good. Only because Renamon has really low health, and if the opponent blocks diamond storm they gain a looot of meter. And most digivolved forms are superior at zoning than renamon, and can do a lot of damage to her due to her low hp.

Well im kinda happy now, ive ordered a copy of rumble arena 2 because i got a game cube for Christmas and LOVE digimon. I have both the gba games as well (though it will never save my progress when i turn of my DS) and there still alright. Im glad i got the better games in the lineup ^-^

I remember the evolution of agumon I can't remember his name in the actual series he actually was there and there was no black agumon just a second evolution walking around as it's base form like it didn't have that original form of agumon that was it's original form so for them to add a black agumon really surprises me either way rumble arena was a really good game I wish I can play it on my PS5 or PC I don't really care as long as I can play it again without having to pull out my PS2 and my converters just to be able to play it then to record it I have to grab my capture card for the thing

Okay, well, they can perfect it when Agumon gets into Smash. It is the 19th highest grossing video game franchise of all time as well as Bandai Namco's second highest grossing video game series with it's 90 million towering over third place's Tekken with 47 million. Agumon will be in Smash soon.
