Nice video man! I am thinking about moving there soon... How was the party scene - Social life tho? Was it good? And is there a nice international community? Cheers!
@dannyizbritanii10622 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It would be a great place to move to, party scene was pretty good on the weekends, lots of beach side bars and clubs were rocking. I think there are more and more foreigners moving over there, I noticed quite a lot of foreigners expecially in the district near the beach, Facebook normally has expat pages in almost every big city, they're great ways to meet people!

I didn't encounter any commission using Otp bank (at least not that I'm aware of). Don't know if it depends on the card/country of card. Cheers for the advice though!

Just i case you missed it: The best Restorant in the world (Noma, Copenhagen) is owned by albanian bussinesman Rene Rexhepi. About buildings: GB (400 BC) was builded by albanian Prince of Troja 2000-1200 BC (Truall in albanian) or Land (in English) Briti. Before you make any coment about Albania, use your brain to think. ok ppl

They leave to make money. If they save it or send it home, they can buy more property, help their families at home start a business and support their family. Not sure what the monthly salary is but I know it is very low. The same reason my Irish grandparents came to America. They would laugh if they could see Ireland now. I think when you see how far your ten pounds goes in Albania that would answer your question. And ten pounds will go even farther for them because they are not tourists and do not pay tourist prices. And once the Albanians rebuild their trains and transportation structure and more tourists come, the day will come when they will be like Ireland.

I HAVE LIVED THERE ABOUT TOTAL 1 YEAR, AND THE FAULTS OF THAT PLACE ARE THE DISPOSING GARBAGE TOO FAR AWAY, THE HOTELS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE FOR WHAT THEY ARE, IN TIRANA SOME PLACES HAS NO WATER OR ELECTRICITY 24 HOURS , YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN WILL BE OFF. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE VLORA HAS SAME PROBLEMS.

i don't think albania has a bad reputation, i think there is no reputation at all. with less tourism across the world now with the global inflation, i think most tourists are going to the known places and don't even know albania exists.

Albania has been in the news quite a bit recently in the UK regarding human smuggling and illegal immigration, so unfortunately it's getting know for all the wrong reasons. But yeh I agree 100% that people don't know much about Albania. Such a hidden gem!!
@roshiroshi12402 жыл бұрын
You're wrong, because 7 million tourists visited Albania in 2022. That's more than twice the population of the country. If you don't know, doesn't mean that no one knows.
@dannyizbritanii10622 жыл бұрын
@@roshiroshi1240 Wow that's an interesting statistic. Good to hear that Albania is starting to get recognized as a holiday destination. Well deserved!
@roshiroshi12402 жыл бұрын
@@dannyizbritanii1062 Yes Danny, it's booming as a tourist destination. In 2019, 6 million tourists came to Albania. Then in two years of pandemic it was not as good as 2019, but this year was the record of 7 million. All the new construction you see are being built only because the predictions are very high for the next few years. In 2019 thousands of Ukrainians came to Albania for their holidays. Even during the pandemic years a lot of them were coming. Now let's hope the war will end soon, and your people can live their lives in peace 🙏
@timallison85602 жыл бұрын
@@roshiroshi1240 those numbers are absurd. the population is less than 3 million for the entire country so there is no way albania has 7 million tourists.

@roshiroshi12402 жыл бұрын
Ok bro, as an albanian I'm going to correct you in few little things. First of all, you were curious about the unfinished buildings. Well, they either have legal problems, like building permits not in order or in some other cases they are confiscated to someone who is charged of drug trafficking. The other thing you wanted to know was about the people who are fleeing Albania and going to England. Well, even in this case there is an explanation, and it is not poverty. Most of those migrants have already parents who live in England and are trying to reach them. It's obvious that they are not poor, because often they pay more than 15 thousand pounds to reach England. The remaining part of those people who are now going there, are young boys who want to make fast money by growing weed or doing other illegal stuff in England. Poverty is a made up story to cover these other reasons. Poor people exist in Albania, but the truth is that they can't even buy a ticket to Tirana from their villages, let alone pay thousands of pounds to get to England. The third thing you misunderstood is that the kebab wasn't even a kebab . That's why you thought it was the best kebab ever 😂. That was a Souvlaki { Sufllaqe in albanian } that is a greek dish, similar to the kebab but not quite the same thing. We don't have a lot of kebabs in Albania. And the last thing is that Flamurtari FC is not the third best team in Albania. They aren't even in the first League. Also the stadium is one of the smallest in Albania. You can't walk in that easily at the Air Albania Stadium in Tirana that is the best stadium in the Balkans 😜. After all this lesson of the albanian way of living, i wish you and your country Ukraine all the best 🥂.
@dannyizbritanii10622 жыл бұрын
Hey, cheers for the info! You have answered some unknowns for me. 😀 If I am not mistaken Flamurtari used to be one of the biggest teams in Albania, in the late 80s and 90s? They even beat Barcelona I heard. I assumed that was still the case, but it seems they are nowhere near as big these days.
@roshiroshi12402 жыл бұрын
@@dannyizbritanii1062 Yes, it's true that Flamurtari was a very good team at that time and they won against Barcelona after eliminating Partizan of Belgrade who was huge at the time. Now unfortunately they're not even close to being on of the best teams in Albania and this year they play in the second division. Cheers mate 🥂
