Great review, you did a good job, lot of details, thanks. My monitor died yesterday and I'm watching reviews and amazon feedbacks to decide for a good replacement, but I'm worried: there are tons of negative reviews of people complaining about backlight bleeding or other problems. Nowadays it seems that the hardware is becoming way too fragile. With this freaking Made in China everything became a lottery, even with well known brands. This Benq model seems great, but it has lot of negative feedabacks too. Also, what the hell is going on with the good old power cables? Benq and Acer seem the only ones still using them and I have to ditch all the other brands just because they use external power supplies.

Sorry that your monitor died! Totally feel you on the made in China comment. With any monitor the quality and vary panel to panel! I haven't had any issues with bleed but again I'm not staying others haven't. Since it depends on so many factors if you like a certain monitor for all it's other features, price etc then I'd error on the side of buying it and seeing the quality of the panel when it arrives in person and then always return if you notice bleeding or anything else!

I been looking for a 24"-25" monitor around £150 GBP and this Benq monitor is one of my consideration. Which monitor do you recommend? I have found G24F， Ex2510s, AOC 24G2SPAE. Would need one for gaming/long screen time for work/youtube avoid eye strains. I dont mind going a bit more money for a better option. Thanks in advance

These came up in google for best gaming monitors to avoid eye strains. They are slightly bigger than what you're looking for though.. Apparently the max brightness was reduced from the older non s version, did you notice it being too dim or is the max brightness sufficient?

This is great for that! Whatever monitor you go with make sure it is an IPS panel so you get the best color/viewing angles!

This monitor is only 1080p so I'd probably spend a few more bucks and get the Odyssey for 1440p gaming! Up to you though no wrong choice!!!

It works great with Nvidia GPUs that's I've tried it with. I'm team green and right now don't have any amd GPUs to try it with!

I ended up buying the BenQ, but ended up returning a few days later.The problem I encountered was the picture had a yellowish tint. The original BenQ EX2510 version is 100x better.

I believe the series x needs a monitor with an hdmi 2.1 port to enable 120 fps.This monitor has an hdmi 2.0 port, so you can play it, but I don't think you'll get 120 fps. ~B

You dont need hdmi 2.1 for 120 hz . Only 4k 120 hz need hdmi 2.1 . 1080p 120 hz and 1440p 120hz works with hdmi 2.0.

young man, I noticed that at min 4:46 on the page concerning the display the writings under Refresh rate appear faded. Is it just a shooting problem or is the monitor actually so washed out?

No that is just the camera and monitor not getting along! It is very clear and not faded or washed!

Try DisplayPort vs HDMI and that should do the trick! If not check your gpu settings and manually change the refresh rate!

i am not going for anymore IPS panel unless they get rid of IPS glow and backlight bleed. One of the worst irritating matter of life. VA will be fine for me. I do not need extreme 1ms. I guess 3ms is enough.

So how do you use your monitor where you're seeing the backlight glow and bleed? Do you spend a lot of time looking at a black screen in a dark room? I feel like when I'm using IPS monitors I can never actually see it in most activities. Only sometimes can I see it around the edges when I have all the lights off the rooms pitch black and I have a black screen up with high brightness.

@@DigitalDavid I love playing horror games and it annoys me a lot in almost every cutscenes. Either it comes on the left upper corner or right upper corner. I have checked many monitor in the store in a dark room and I could not be satisfied with the result. I am very sensitive to dirt and scratches in any of my materials. Moreover paying money for something that looks defective does not feel right to me.

Actually to me it's very useful. You not always want to turn on your home theatre or put headphone every single time. For watching yt video , or watching online class , or just playing in background lowfi music is super useful. And it's always nice have sound available upon turning on the pc. For these specific reason I bought a usb speaker even though I've 5.1 and headphones connected.
